Ness nodded a bit toward Erica and then nodded along with her explanation, seemingly understanding what Erica meant. She put her hand to her chin for a few moments, contemplating something. Maybe I should try to get my own little cottage away from it all. It would probably help me out quite a bit.

"No, I've never really seen a garden before. Nobody but the incredibly wealthy where I come from would have that much space to do nothing but put some pretty plants there. And even then, they don't really waste the space like that." Jessica began. Realizing what she had said, she quickly, almost frantically even, qualified her previous statement with, "Not that what you have is a waste of space. I mean, when there's so much space available, you can hardly really waste it. You just...probably wouldn't want to live where I come from is all." Feeling she was making an idiot out of herself, she sighed as she started rubbing the bridge of her nose with her left hand.

"Indeed. We do have time to spare, however, as the maintenance that is to be done on the ship is scheduled to take places some days from now. Either way, if it is all the same, I shall go rest now."
"Where do you come from? From what you've told, I can't imagine it being that castle your ancestors... found. That was far more spacious that what I have here. I think..." Erica said to Jessica, trailing off twice. She didn't seem to be terribly bothered by what Jessica had said. Not long after she said this, Erica returned carrying two plates of cooked rabbit, with a side f vegetables. The rabbit was cooked with various spices, and while this didn't show, it could be smelled. "Dinner is served. I used a spice that's said to lighten one's mood once consumed. I never had much reason to test out wherther or not this was true until now..." she said, handing the plates to Jessica and Ness with a small smile. Once they accepted, she returned to the kitchen and fetched a plate for herself. "I hope you like it... I'm not the best of cooks."
Richard shrugged slightly. "I'm sure you had your motives, wherther they were altruistic or not. Either way, my trust is rather hard to earn, as I'm sure you've noticed."

Rita nodded and went to sleep as well
Envy smiled "In times like these that pays off, but I think the decimation of Xiphatia's mythril mining operations speaks for itself that you can trust me."

Ness smiled a bit toward Erica and gave her a slight bow before taking a few small bites of the food. "Thank you for the food, Ms. Erica. It smells great, I'm sure I'll enjoy this!"

OoC: Uh.. Got to get to bed. Night. Ness will follow you guys if you go anywhere.

"Well, you'd be right about that. Nobody lives in Castlewood Keep anymore. It's preserved as a historic landmark. I live in the city that was built around the castle when more living space was needed." Jessica answered Erica. She accepted the food with a "Thank you." Since she had never eaten rabbit before, she spent some time examining the food first, taking in the smell and how it looked before taking a small bite to test how it tasted.

Loki eventually fell asleep also.

Fafnir had retreated to the back of the den where she ate the deer she caught. From time to time, one or both of her young tried to have a bite, but Fafnir chased them off, seemingly adamant to keep this paticular catch to herself. Once finished, she picked up the bones and these outside the cave. Moving back, she fell asleep where she had been eaten. Her young curled up underneath her wings and fell asleep also.
"Really, there's no need to call me miss." Erica said to Ness as she returned from the kitchen.

She sat down in a chair opposite of Jessica and Ness and took a bite from the rabbit. "Castlewood? Is that what it's called? I could've sworn it had a diferent name..." she answered, sighing. Her already less then optimal mood wasn't helped when she noticed something was missing from the food once se tasted it. [sub]"I forgot to add pepper. Damn..."[/sub] she muttered to herself, her mood growing more sombre. "Anyway... When was this city build? What does it look like? Nothing like Solitude, I suppose."

Depending on one's tastes, the food likely would be a bit bland, lacking in taste.
"It's appreciated, as is any help. Make no mistake about that. But appreciation and trust aren't the same things." Richard answered, then paused. "Tell me... How did you end up here in the first place? Up until recently, we thought dimensional travel to be something from from a sci-fi movie."

Richard raised an eyebrow upon hearing Envy's reply. "You don't know anything about it? That sure is odd..."

Envy crossed his arms "Well I might have been asleep at the time...Tch, sounds like my brother besides I don't think any of us know exactly how we got here, we're not the ones that did anything."

Jessica found the food to be ever-so-slightly lacking in the taste department, but she wasn't one to complain about free food, so she kept it to herself. "Well, it was never really built for the purpose of building a city. About 270 years ago my people's population was growing too big to comfortably fit everyone in the Keep, so they all just started building things in the area to house everyone else. And then over time, more and more homes needed to be built, and we eventually just wound up with a city." Jessica explained to Erica. "It's not terribly different from Solitude really. Just replace all the natural stone with concrete, all the wood with steel, and add in a lot more glass....Oh, and make every building about five to ten times bigger, and make the city itself encompass a hell of a lot more space."
After she finished speaking, she managed to notice Erica's mood going south a bit. "This is pretty good by the way." She said, motioning to her food with her eating utensils as she took another bite.

"I see... I wonder why Xiphatia thought it was a good idea to do whatever they did to bring several people from diferent dimensions here. It has never happened before. Makes me wonder if this were the actions of a rogue mage or something."

OoC: @Nail, gotta get some sleep, time bubble in place for Envy

"I'd tell you if I knew, if I had to guess it was something war related, but that's just speculation."

OoC @Furioso: 'Kay then.

"Posible. It could be someone trying to make a name for himself in the Xiphatian army. We'll probably never know, either way."
"That sounds quite a bit different from Solitude, actually." What's concrete? Erica answered Jessica, taking another bite from her food. Since there wasn't anything inherently wrong with it, she didn't throw it away, but she are faster then she normally would. "And funny that there was such a growth in population in what is a relatively short amount of time. In fact, how is it there was such a growth? Silly question, I know. But I still can't wrap my head around that there have been fourteen generations since the last time I visit." she asked, then looked down at her plate once Jessica complimented her. "And... thanks. This isn't the best meal I've ever prepared, honestly."

"Well, you know how Four had three children? That's pretty much the average for my species. Plus for a while we had no other choice but to mate with humans from other societies, so every new family was practically adding four new people to the population." Jessica explained, pausing to do so, then taking a few more bites of food to let Erica think over what she had said. When was the last time you visited anyway?" Jessica curiously asked after swallowing the food she had been chewing on. "It's still better than anything I could do. I never really had the time to learn how to cook properly." She said, commenting on the food again.

"Three children? I thought she had only two." Erica answered, responding to the thing from Jessica's explaination that caught her attention the most before thinking on the other things she had said. She finished her rabbit and moved on to what little vegitables remained on the plate. "Anyway, I guess that makes sense. It's still kind of hard to picture, but that's just me. As for how long it's been since I last paid a visit... Umm... I'm not sure. More then twohundred years, at least. Keeping track of time is not something I'm good at." she answered, looking embarassed near the end. "As for the cooking. That's a trait you share with your ancestor, then. I'm pretty sure her cooking made someone ill once." speaking of bad cooking, Erica's mood was lifted slightly again through a sense of nostalgia. "Honestly, how any of us survived back then when hardly anyone knew how to cook is beyond me. Pure luck, I guess."

"Well, technically she had five but...well I guess it has been a while, so I can't really blame you for not remembering." Jessica replied to Erica's first answer. She began to adopt a pattern of gnawing on small bits of food in between bouts of talking. "Though I can understand why you don't ever come by anymore. I mean, after Four passed, what reason would there have been for you to ever bother coming back?" She said, a tone of glum matter-of-fact-ness in her voice. She chuckled and said, "I don't ever remember reading anything about that. Then again, she could have just left stuff like that out to make herself look better."

"Five? What ever happened to the other two?" Erica asked, tilting her head slightly. "That was my reason, yes. I never grew all that close to anyone else in her family. Sure, I talked to others from time to time, but it was small talk only. Plus..." Erica trailed off, looking outside. For a moment, she only hmm'd, her mood sinking once again. Damnit. Pull yourself together... Sighing, she looked back at Jessica. "Or, I may just be mistaken. About the cooking, that is. There were a lot of people who's cooking was nothing short of horible. And it's easy to get little facts like that messed up."

Jessica gave Erica a quizzical look. She doesn't remember? "Oh I'd rather not go around talking about things like that. You can just read that book I gave you to jog your memory." She replied. As she was polishing off the last bits of food on her plate, she noticed Erica trailing off as she was about to say something, then continue with something that didn't sound even slightly related to what she was about to say. "Plus what?" She asked.

"Oh, right. I'll get to reading it one of these days." Erica answered, then trailed off once more. "Plus... I seem to have a tendency to avoid the places where someone I cared about died. Four, AEanna and Tophat. They a or, rather were the closest thing I've had to family. My little 'family' has gotten a great deal smaller..." she answered, setting her plate asides, then begining to fidget with her hands.
