Jessica shrugged at Savranth. "Maybe they're the ones that want you dead. Can't be entirely certain until we look into it. So I'll let everyone else do what they want." She said, making her point without making any earnest attempt to actually change Savranth's mind. Sighing, she said, "Yeah, sorry for being stupid and not telling you everything you need to know." her words sounded like a legitimate self-depreciating apology instead of a sarcastic remark. "I need a picture of a specific location. A view of the entire city really wouldn't get us there...not without the risk of casualties at least."

Nybeth fired off a few more Word of Pain spells at the soldiers he took note of before noticing that there were significantly more than he was led to believe there would be. Perhaps a reevaluation of strategy is in order. He thought to himself as he moved back deeper into the forest to try and conceal himself better.

"No, it's fine. I got a few pictures ready as I wasn't sure. One of the whole city, as well as a few of other landmarks, like the town gates, the prison, dock, and castle grounds, as well as a few other places. I'd suggest not going to the castle grounds or the prison, though." Savranth replied.
"Anyway, it's not impossible, but unlikely. The lost tribe of beastkin were supposedly the originators of the process by which Golems are made. There's no mention of them using technology."

OoC: Intended to be a group battle. By which I mean several more than 3 and probably some NPC support...

@Drak: Yush. U can has zambies. I was going to have Loki mention that, but I forgot. lol.

When Rita's fire dragon raged across the battle field, most of the soldiers moved out of the way, spreading them out more. Once more. While the majority was able to evade the raging dragon in time, one soldier was too slow and was nearly incinirated. Falling to the gorund half dead, the flames licking at his body would soon finish the man off.
Those that had to run away to evade the fire dragon began running back to their mortars, while two other cannons on the eastern side of the compound were trained on were the fire dragon had came from. Both fired their shells, one aimed for the exact location where the dragon came from, the other more to the right.

Loki took cover behind some crates and made dispatching those operating the mortars his biggest priority. Peeking over the cover, he fired another energy blast. The explosion killed the soldier who would load and adjust the trajectory of the cannon, while the other soldier was only thrown aside by the force of the explosion, although he was wounded. After he fired, Loki leapt over the cover and made his way to a diferent position.

Seeing Loki's energy blast come from behind the crates, one soldier tossed a grenade towards it, whole two others laid down suppressive fire.

Nearing land, five of the watercrafts began firing their machineguns at the location from where the fire dragon came, although since they moved and were still some distance away from land, the shots had little in the way of accuracy.



Nybeth's spells struck down two more soldiers positioned on the walls, but one had seen the direction from which the spells were cast.

"Over there!" he shouted, firing in the general direction. One more mortar cannon was aimed at the direction the soldier who had called out was firing, and fired a mortar.

Although Loki, Rita and Nybeth were still cloaked, Loki keeping the cloaking up, as well as fighting made him lose focus, occasionally making the trio detectable again.

Enemies: 121 soldiers.

[Furioso]

Narrowly avoiding the mortar blasts, Rita cast another spell, she had an idea. "O mad and greedy waters, rise up and storm the very heavens... Tidal Wave!" A gargantuan tital wave of water appeared over most of the area of the southern part of the base. Swirling around it would toss and disorient the soldiers on the ground level of the base, but since she was spreading it to hit as many people as possible it would be totally non-lethal.

@Salty: It's not my fault Loki didn't Dominate more PCs!

Jessica nodded to Savranth. "The landmark pictures should probably do just fine. Standard precaution: are you sure these are up-to-date pictures? Things could go pretty badly with what I have planned if there's been significant architectural changes since those pictures were taken." She realized talking with Savranth on the other topic would just lead to them going in circles, so she decided to drop the subject.

Since Nybeth had made to retreat into the forest somewhat, he avoided the mortar strike directed at his position. Tossing a few shards of bone on the ground, he chanted, "Denizens of the abyss! From ink of blackest night, I summon you! Darkness to me!" A cloud bank suddenly rolled in over the battlefield, sending into overcast. A fog bank then rolled in, clinging to the ground and making everything less than 2 feet off the ground impossible to see. Outside the walls of the northern half of the base, bodies that weren't there before rose up and to their feet. The bodies belonged to dead Xiphatian and Legaian soldiers, about 10 of each. Upon spotting the Legaian troops stationed on the northern wall, the zombies attacked, the Legaians opening fire with their rifles and the Xiphatians attacking with the respective spells they knew in life while looking for a gate to use to bypass the walls.

"They should be up to date. I'm sure we'll be fine. Though, I'll warn you that the King is a proud and dangerous man." Savranth tells Jessica.

OoC: Anyway, I kinda need to go to bed. Night.

Thought that Black, Yukino or Percy would say hi, but they all went to bed.

Not fancying being caught in the whirlpool, Loki leapt ontop of the wall, next to a soldier. Loki stabbed the soldier in the throat with the scepter, twisted the blade around, the pulled it back out in a lightning-fast motion. Before the soldier fell off the wall, however, Loki caught him and tossed him at another soldier. Knocking him off his feet.
The trio again momentarily became detectable. Brief as it was, four soldiers saw Loki and opened fire on him. While the majority of the bullets flew harmlessly passed him and others not doing all that much damage due to Loki density, he decided to jump off the wall, outside the compound.

Ten soldiers were caught within the whirlpool, amongst them two soldiers who had just returned to their respective mortar cannon. One soldier was unfortunate enough to have his head smash against the cannon, killing him. The others were thrown about the whirlpool as they tried to escape it in vain.

Four of the soldiers positioned on the walls were mowed down by gunfire and magic, leaving only two soldiers at the north and eastern part of the walls. The zombies would find a gate at the southern end of the wall.

Now with the cloud of fog obscuring sight in northen half of the base, the soldiers there began moving south, only to stop as they saw Rita's whirlpool there. Not risking entering it, seeing what it did to their comrades, they went north again, some mading their way to the ladders that one would climb to reach the wall.

Five of the watercrafts entered the area where the battleship had been docked, two of them opening fire on the ten zombiers. The other ten moved near the shore.

The soldiers who had been caught in the whirlpool were now pretty much doomed as Rita cast another spell. "O righteous will, let fall thy sword of lightning upon those who bear fault... Thunder Blade!" In the center of the area that was now soaking wet, a large blade made of electricity struck the ground as a "charging" sound could be heard. A second later the blade burst, sending an electrified shockwave over the wet area.

One zombie was mowed down by the watercrafts machine-gun fire, and fell over motionless before the rest took notice. Though they took notice and opened fire, since they had no cover, another 7 Legaian zombies were made still again.
Noticing his zombies under fire, Nybeth pointed at the area where the watercrafts were congregated. "Harness power of the wyrm, that races ?cross the vault of sky, drop stars from fastness high above, come burning down to ground!" Using a significant portion of his spell-power reserves, Nybeth summoned several large meteorites to fall out of the sky and onto the position the watercrafts occupied. In addition to threatening to crush the crafts, the waves made by the massive stones hitting the water would likely threaten to capsize them as well.
The Legaian zombies took note of what Rita was doing and decided to not enter the base for the time being, instead attacking soldiers on the wall closest to them once again.

"Do I look like the kind of person who goes around picking fights with Kings? It should be fine." Jessica reassured Savranth. Since it seems he went back to bed, she left, popping back up in Winterhorn to pay Sophia a quick visit.

Sophia was in one of the ledge areas near the entrance of the college. She was still inside the building however. She still had the bucket and blanket to collect any of the flakes of wood that she removed from the block she was working with. She seemed to be a little mesmerized by what she was doing, just the stroke against the wood, concentration, and humming along as she did, not noticing Jessica was near her.

OoC @Furioso: Nailik approves of that choice of battle music. That's not to be mistaken with earning the Seal of Approval, however.

The nine soldiers that were being tossed around in the whirlpool were all but fried when Rita's Thunder Blade fell in the center and discharged the electricity. Once the whirlpool disappeared, they soldiers lay on the ground, twitching as electricity coursed through them, but most certainly dead.

The shots of the zombies generally didn't do much against the watercrafts, although one lucky shot managed to kill a soldier who was sailing the craft. Nybeth's meteorites, however, crushed two of the crafts, with the other three capsizing due to the enseuing tidal wave the meteorites hitting the water caused.

The zombies firing upon the soldiers stationed on the wall killed the one standing on the northen part of the wall. Ten soldiers that climbed the ladders now reached the climbed ontop of the wall, however, and opened fire on the zombies.

Loki pulled out a dagger from his unseen inventory and threw it at one of the soldiers, hitting him right between the eyes. He then turned and fired and energy blast at one of the watercrafts that sailed along the western shore. While the blast didn't destroy the vessel, it did heavily damage it, a plume of smoke rising from it.

When Loki attack, the trio was made detectable once more. With their infrared vision, the soldiers caught a glimpse of the attacking trio. The watercraft Loki had shot aimed at him and fired, hitting him in the shoulder. Since the craft's machinegun was of a higher caliber then the soldiers' riffles, the shots didn't simply bounce off as others had done. Clutching his shoulder, Loki warped further away.

A mortar was fired at both Rita and Nybeth, while 40 soldiers laid down suppressive fire.

Following the humming to Sophia's location, as there weren't many other sounds to pick up on, Jessica eventually found the girl. "Hello Sasha!" She said, giving the younger girl a friendly wave as she approached her. "Whatcha up to?"

Sophia stopped as she looked up from her work. "Oh Jessica." She smiled happily. I didn't hear you coming. But I'm happy you're here." She said as she put down the block she was working on.

"I needed to ask you about something... [sub]A little personal.[/sub]" She said as she raised up a block that on the left side seemed to resemble a particular cat girl with what looked like a lab robe on, the right side however wasn't very completed. It seemed to have been left so that she had room for whatever pose she eventually decided to take.

"Look familiar?" She smiled softly.

Jessica tilted her head to the side curiously as she examined the block of wood that Sophia was showing her. "Huh. That almost looks like..." She examined the block of wood more closely. "Is this supposed to be me?" She asked, not wanting to seem overly presumptuous. "Anyway, what do you need to ask?" She asked, looking away from the wood and back to Sophia.
