"Got it." Jessica mentally replied to Loki before relaying his report to Nybeth, not directly though, as she didn't know where he currently stood, just sort of shouting it into the air.

Nybeth took this as cue to step through the portal and did so. Since Nybeth was already shrouded, and thus at almost no risk of being detected, he took a moment to confirm what Loki had said and memorize the positions of all the targets. After doing so, he mentally ordered his zombies to shuffle through the portal as well. Since they were not shrouded, they'd appear in the room with a bright blue flash that was visible to all. Having foresight into where their targets were placed, the 20 zombies that initially stepped through the portal began almost immediately firing their rifles, having to only take fractions of a second of aim, two zombies going for each guard apiece.

Rita snuck close to the throne, waiting for the King to stand and give her an opportunity.

Ness sighed for a moment before deciding to cut her losses and walk into an alleyway to teleporting herself back into her hotel room in Granite Pass and falling asleep.

OoC: Night.

 

[Chungus]

Being completely taken by suprise by the Legaian zombies appearing in the audiance chamber, two of the guards standing near the royals were gunned down, along with a third standing near the entrance. Other shots missed due the zombies having only so short a time to aim.

Garzic and Amalia both stood up, with the remaining four soldiers near the thrones moving infront of them and collectively raising a magical barrier infront of them. They, of course, didn't take into account Loki and Rita who stood behind the royals.

"Die, cretins!" Garzic shouted as he drew his sword, holding it with both hands out infront of him. From the sword, a barrage of lightning bolts shot out towards the zombies.

"Do it." Loki said to Rita as he approached Amalia.

Two of the three remaining guards at the door conjured up eight spears of ice and launched these at the zombies, while the third threw two fireballs.

[Furioso]

Had Rita been taller she would have aimed for an obvious target, like the carotid artery in the neck, but equally viable targets existed within her reach. She stabbed with both needles simultaneously, one into the Kings lower back, aimed at the inferior vena cava vein, the largest in the body. It was nestled between the kidneys, and would deliver the poison into the heart. If she missed she would strike one of the kidneys, or the aorta. The other needle was aimed at the Kings leg. It would hit the femoral artery, which was a large target, but would take blood away from the heart first, making the death slightly slower. After her strike she would quickly back away from the throne.

Four zombies were struck by Garzic's lightning, but since their bodies now ran on magic as opposed to a central nervous system, it did little overall damage to them, though they would have more difficulty aiming due to the brain damage they had taken.
The guards throwing ice spears had hit their marks for the most part, though the zombies continued their attack, some hindered by torn off legs and arms, aiming for those that had yet to conjure up magical barricades.
To avoid being caught up in the crossfire, Nybeth had stayed near the edge of the room, in between where any guards were. There he remained to continue ordering his undead troops.

Having little else to do for the time being, Jessica meandered off, still catching wind of the odor exuding from Nybeth's cave, and wishing for that to no longer be the case.

 

[Chungus]

Having no idea that Rita was behind him, and instead focusing on attacking the zombies, Garzic had no posible way of know what Rita was about to do, and was this stabbed where Rita intended. With a grunt, Garzic stumbled, making the lightning he fired dart around dangerously before disipating. Once he regained his balance, Garzic turned around, and although he couldn't see anyone standing behind him, knew someone had to be there. Raising his left hand towards the thrones, he shot out a jet of flames and moved this from the right wall to the left and back.

The moment Rita stabbed Garzic, Loki stepped infront of Amalia and pressed the scepter against her chest, placing her under his control. Amalia yelped when she felt the blade press against her chest, but this could be seen as due to seeing her husband stumble by others. Since Amalia had blue eyes already, there was no indicator of any change. When done, Loki too stepped back.

"What is this madness?!" One of the guard exclaimed at the lack of dying the zombies did when being hit full-on by the attacks against them. One of the soldiers near the entrance of the room was struck by the gunfire, and would have died, were it not for the fact that the zombies' aim was off. The soldiers fell to one knee and raised a barrier while healing himself, the both spells being less effective then they would usually given that they were used simoultaniously.
Two of the four soldiers holding the barrier infront of the royals charged at the zombies, swords raised, moving three times as fast as any person could normally due to Speed-Enhancing magic. When in range, they slashed at the nearest zombies, aiming to decapitate. The two other soldiers attacked the zombies with a vacuum slash.

When Amalia recovered from her momentarily zoning out as a result of being placed under Loki's control, she turned to the zombies and tore out a fairly large part of the left wall using earth magic, then threw this at the zombies.

OoC: And then I became tired. Time bubbles it is.

 

[Furioso]

Still concealed by Loki, Rita raised an anti-magic shield, blocking the attack. "Pathetic..." The kings attack would actually go through the shield, dealing some very light damage to Rita, but it was largely negligible.

Ooc: aaaand bed, I have plans tomorrow so not sure when I'll be on

Seeing that Loki and Rita had completed the mission that they had actually set out to do, and remembering what Loki had said about the zombies, Nybeth began altering the magic in his zombies' bodies. Those that were grievously injured from the onslaught of icy spears from the guards fell over dead, once again, as if they had undergone a delayed reaction to being struck.
The charging soldiers struck true and decapitated the zombies they were attacking, yet the bodies still stood for a moment, taking the opportunity to fire point blank at the guards before falling over dead.
While most of the zombies crouched to avoid the vacuum slashes, two zombies were cut in half by them and died.

The remaining zombies kept up their fire at whatever unprotected targets were available.

 

[Chungus]

With what they had intended to do done, Loki and Rita moved about the battle field near the walls to avoid being hit in the crossfire.

One of the guards that was shot at at point-blank range recieved a salvo to the vital organs, and quickly died as a result. The other too, was hit, but survived, the passive barrier he had active slowing the bullets down, preventing them from tearing through the body like they would normally. Still, he fell over, grievously wounded.
The guard who had been hit previously finished healing himself and got back to his feet. Seeing one of his comrades fall, but still live, he raised a barrier of mediate power around himself as he charged for where they guard that had been shot at point blank range laid, throwing a fireball at the nearest zombie as he went.

The barrage of gunfire growing to great for the passive shields of the two attacking guards positioned near the door of the audiance chamber, the bullets eventually pierced through the shield of one, wounding him. The other guard focused completely on the barrier, improving the effectiveness of it. With the barrier protecting him from harm, the guard began moving towards his wounded comrade.
Any bullets fired at the guards protecting the royals bounced of the barrier they had raised, the collective barrier being far too powerful to be pierced by standard gunfire.

As the poison began taking hold, Garzic felt his throat turn try, and a stomach ache flare up. For the moment, however, he ignored this as best as he could. Turning back to the zombies he began preparing the spell to summon creatures.

Amalia tore the piece of the wall she had thrown at the zombies earlier in half, and threw both halves at the zombies.

OoC: 4 guards left. Two wounded.

The guard tossing a fireball managed to strike a zombie right in the face. Unfortunately, being filled with flammable chemicals meant that the zombie quickly caught fire and was burned incredibly quickly, falling over after being turned into a charred corpse. As the guard charged however, one Legaian zombie stood in his path and aimed to bash him in the face with the butt of its rifle.
Seeing that bullets weren't effective against the shield the injured guard and his healer near the door were putting up, one zombie took the pins off of all its grenades, then made a kamikaze charge at them.
Two zombies were crushed by Amalia's attack, their bones broken to the point where they could no longer stand, both of them falling dead.
The remaining five otherwise unoccupied zombies continued firing at whatever targets they could see were available, making sure to avoid shooting near where Nybeth, Loki and Rita were hiding.

 

[Kirke]

(To Erica: Look in his backpack. There should be a can of bio-foam there. Insert the tip of it into his chest cavity, and hold the handle down to fill his chest cavity with a disinfectant foam. That should hold any broken ribs in place so that they do not damage any internal organs until we can get medical assistance. Focus on healing blood vessels and more vital organs, and I will make sure he doesn't feel the pain of his burns.)
Tophat spoke in a calm but somewhat stressed manner, feeling frustrated that it could not act directly.

The Rookie fell unconsious, as the wounds he had suffered were far beyond his pain threshold.

 

[Chungus]

As the guard rushing for the one shot at point-blank range was struck by the butt one the rival by the zombie stepping in his path, but the barrier for the most part protecting him, only making him stumble. Once he regained his ballance, he lowered his free hand with the palm facing towards the zombie and shot out an icy spike towards the zombie's cranium. If successful, the spike would pierce through the jaw and leave just above the neck.
When the zombie pulled out the pins of the grenades and rushed towards the two guards near the door, the one who would heal the wounded one dropped his shield and fired two small fireballs at the charging kamikaze zombie.

With his summoning spell charged, Garzic summoned fifty ethereal knights. They wore the heavy platemail, seemingly of Xiphatian make, but blue and semi-transparant. Through their armour, their bodies could be seen being pitch-black, and their heads lacking any facial features. All wielded a large claymore. The ethereal knights raised their swords and surrounded the zombies, then charged at them.
The poison taking hold further, Garzic's heart rate began to slow down.

With the ethereal knights charging the battle field, the two guards that were protecting the royals with their barriers dropped these and joined in the attack, Amalia raising a barrier in their stead, using both hands to do so.

The wonders of advanced medicine. Erica thought upon hearing Tophat explain the foam. Doing as told, she searched through Rookie's backpack and retrieved the syringe, inserting this in Rookie's chest cavity and emptying the contents. When done, Erica set out on healing Rookie's various less severe wounds, showing profficiency in doing so. Now confident the situation was as under control as it could be, Erica was relatively calm, only slightly anxious at the thought what damage Rookie had suffered internally.

 

[Kirke]

Picking up on Erica's anxiousness, Tophat decided to try to calm her down.
(To Erica: Hey, it'll be alright. He's a tough bastard, I'll tell you that.)

The foam pushed out slightly from the Rookie's open wounds, preventing healing but holding him stable for now. However, there was no doubt that he would need further medical attention. Erica's healing went as planned, with many of the bruises and lesser burns disappearing.

 

[Drakmorg]

The kamikaze zombie was lit up by the incoming fireballs, which in turn caused its grenades to go off prematurely, blowing it apart. Having lowered his shield though, the guard and his wounded ally would now be threatened to be hit by shrapnel from the exploding zombie.
Now completely outnumbered, the Legaian zombies would be cut down pretty quickly. They'd attempt to put up a fight, firing at as many of the approaching targets as possible, but wouldn't last very long, being outnumbered greater than 10:1.

While wandering around the mountains, a thought occurred to Jessica. She transmitted said question to Loki telepathically. "I just thought of something. Since I made the portal one-way only, what's the exit strategy on your end?"

 

[Chungus]

The guard that had fired an ince spike to the zombie that had gunbutt'd him being successful, he rushed over his wounded comrade and began dragging him out of the danger zone with one hand, while dealing with the more minor injuries with the other.
Having not anticipated the zombie igniting, setting off the grenades prematurely, the guard who would heal recieved a dose of shrapnel to the torse, and was mortally wounded himself. He fell on his back, struggling to stay conscious.
With the ethereal knights being more then capable of dealing with the zombies, but lacking healing powers, the two guards that had left the royals began making their way to the two wounded guards near the entrance.
The zombies still standing managed to gun down three of the ethereal knights, as they weren't concerned with protecting themselves in the slightest, but there were many more. Once the knights closed the gap between the zombies and themselves, they began hacking away with them, not being concerned with the posibility of hitting other knights either.

Once Garzic falls, they will likely attempt to rush him towards a healer if one is not present here, this leaving none to watch this room. Once this happens, you are to create another portal for us to take our leave. In the off chance there would be guards staying behind, they can either be dispatched, or we can sneak out of the palace to await extraction elsewhere. Loki mentally answered Jessica as he looked over the battle.

The poisoning entering advanced stages, Garzic fell to one knee, unable to remaining standing due to the dizzyness it was causing him. His heart rate continued to slow down, and would soon stop beating entirely.

Tough or not, damage to the internal organs is not something to be sniffed at. Still, I am not all too worried. Given the circumstances, his chances are good. Erica answered Tophat, sighing as she did.

Being informed by Mild, an Xiphatian ambulance was on its way towards where Rookie was.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Alright. Just let me know what you need." Jessica telepathically replied to Loki. As she waited to hear her next set of orders, she continued wandering around the mountainside, actually managing to somewhat enjoy a stroll. Though the experience was ruined somewhat by the fact that at this point it was nigh impossible for her to escape the smell of dead bodies while still remaining close to where she felt she needed to be.

Nybeth wordlessly moved to join Loki's side, no longer having any zombies left to command, and not seeing the need to bring in any more.

OOC: I gotta get going now. I'll be back later.

 

[Chungus]

I shall keep you informed. Loki telepathically answered Jessica as he watched the events unfold.

Soon after the zombies where cut down, the ethereal knights faded, but not because Garzic dismissed them, but because he was unable to keep them manifest as the poison did its work. Garzic lost conscious and began foaming at the mouth, his heart rate contuing to drop.

"And now we enjoy the show..." Loki remarked, a malicious grin on his face.

"Dearest?!" Amalia exclaimed, dropping the barrier and rushing over to her husband's side. Seeing the state Garzic was in, she looked towards the guards who were still standing, "Something is wrong, he needs healing! Now!" she called out in a panic.
The three guards who were healing the wounded made sure their comrades were stable before leaving their sides to go to Garzic. Amalia stepped back to give the guards working space, folding her right arm around her waist and resting her left elbow to on her right forearm, bringing a fist to her mouth as she watched nervously.

 

[Kirke]

(To Erica: By the way, could you search that wizards corpse? I believe he has a scroll that will allow one person to teleport to the place he or she thinks of.)

 

[Chungus]

Of course. Erica mentally answered Tophat as she stood up and walked over to the corpse of the wizard that had been killed by having a rock smashed into his skull. She crouched down next to the wizard and began searching his robes, a little uncomfortable with doing so. She did her best to avoid looking at the caved in skull.

The ambulance arived at the scene, coming to a stop at the middle of the road. Two Xiphatian paramedics stepped out of the back of the hovering vehicle. "Who is it that requirers medical care?" the paramedic called out. Erica looked up and poited towards Rookie. "It is him. I suspect he has suffered internal damage and likely needs an operation." The paramedic nodded and carefully lifted Rookie into the ambulance. "Do either of you require aid?" he asked Erica and Valentine. Both answered in the negative, with Erica going back to searching the wizard's corpse.
