Ness looked over shocked at the thing that had teleported in with the others. Leaping back and summoning her twin magnums, she fired 2 shots from each one: extremely strong shots from her gold one and weaker armor piercers from the black one.
"Can something not go awry for once!?" She asked to no one in an annoyed tone.

"I see. This is good to know. I shall take this into considderation for the future." Loki said to Jessica with a nod, then turned back to Rita. "Well, since I very much doubt Legaian can still be fully blamed for our deeds today, given that the thralls had been seen all but shrugging off attacks, we can instead capitalise on this "Destroyer" that White person spoke of, pinning the deed on her. Even if she is not as dangerous as White claimed she is, we can benefit from the fearmongering she had been doing regardless. For the assasinations of Garzic's kin, I have et to plan these things, as for now, I know too little in a moment where things are in too much turmoil. I would see how the events unfold, and plan accordingly." Turning to Nybeth, Loki said, "Indeed it would. I know not the full extend of his powers, but from the little I had seen, aside from those odd shades he conjured up, he could summon a large suit of armour that. This paticular entity having all but turned the tide when Legaia attacked the capital."

Seeing the horror that was the Carnifex emerge, Erica stepped back, not wanting to attack simply because of the way the beast looked and sounded, although she did have her spells ready in case she needed to strike. Valentine too got in a ready position, but dudn't act as of yet.
When Marcus and Ness opened fire on the Carnifex, Erica frowned, as it looked like they were the aggressors.

Rita thought for a moment "Yes... that could work nicely. She's supposed to be some destroyer, but we don't know how she's supposed to destroy. Saying she brings loved ones back from the dead to form armies would fit the title nicely, not to mention Xiphatia will very likely be overzealous to pin the blame on someone."
The carnifex's roar changed from one of anger to one of pain as the multitude of shells hit it. It's mind filling with a black rage, it charged Marcus, slashing through his skin exterior and through the metal underneath. This would leave Marcus armless and screaming in pain.
Ness's shots would punch twin holes through its armor. The golden magnum's shot would be stopped midway through the shell, but the armor piercing shot punched straight into the creatures body, causing intense internal bleeding. Lyra's sniper shot removed one of its eyes, and angered the creature more, if possible.
At this point, the creature's alien mind would beginning emitting the shadows of the warp. Anyone telepathically minded would feel its presence, which would cause a migraine. If Jess's connection to Ness was still active, Jess would easily feel it as well, before the link was severed by the creature's emanations.

Ness slid back a small bit noting the ineffectiveness of her gold magnum. She calmly dispelled it and wanted to go to aim for the beast again before the combined screaming of Marcus and the migraine caused her to falter a bit. Clutching her head, she simply staggered as she tried making her way toward Marcus and taking another three shots toward the creature to cover herself, trying her best to keep her aim somewhat true.

Now, with it proven the Carnifex was most certainly hostile, with her left hand, Erica cast a Courage spell on Valentine, covering her witha feint turqouise glow. With her right hand, Erica conjured up a lightning bolt and threw this at the mouth of the Carnifex when ir roared.

"I believe I remember something about some sort of man-made beast destroying a Xiphatian town called Everwood. It supposedly looked like an average Legaian soldier. Perhaps it would still be possible to shift the blame on Legaia, were we to spread rumors of the attack possibly being an experiment of some sort." Nybeth suggested.
Jessica started massaging her temples as she felt a sudden migraine come over her. Ugh, did I already overdo it again? When she felt her mental connection with Ness get cut, she was immediately clued in to something else being wrong. "Uh, am I needed here for the immediate moment? Something came up that I really need to look into." She asked Loki, trying to hide the fact that she was incredibly worried.

The Carnifex was about to remove Marcus's head when the fireball slammed into it. While this did no real damage to the creature beyond crisping its battle armor, it dredged up the memory of the hive mind's last order, to hunt and kill psykers. Turning to face Erica and valentine, it charged forward, ignoring the shots from Ness's magnum, as fatal as they might be.
Xyleena hopped onto the creatures back and swung away, trying to cut through the Carnifex's armor into the soft squishy bits within. Lyra fired again, carving a groove into the monster's armor but doing no real damage.

With the monster rushing toward Erica and Valentine, Ness calmly reloaded her magnum and pulled on her glove before standing over Marcus and beginning to place her hand on him and starting to erase the pain he was feeling at the moment, the white column of light encasing the two.
"No. You have done your part for now. You may leave." Loki answered Jessica, momentarily looking to her, then back to Rita and Nybeth. "Man-made, you say? Curious. But this indeed would not quite suit to cover up our tracks, so to speak, for the reasons Rita has stated. This story may yet benefit us should the tale of what has transppired today be greatly exagerated, however. I shall bear it in mind."

"Thank you. You know how to reach me if and when you need me again." Jessica said to Loki, giving him a nod before she turned around and walked off far enough that she wouldn't need to keep breathing through her mouth. After walking off, she put her visor on and used it to check Ness' position and her surroundings. She's in space? How'd she get out there?...Oh my...that's a...uh...don't even know what that is. Scares the hell out of me though... She contemplated whether or not to try and make an immediate entrance.

The Carifextook a slowed step, followed by another- before its joints shattered from the pressure a biological battle tank puts on its legs. Collapsing to the ground, its weapon falling away from it as Valentine, for all intents and purposes, ripped it off, the Carnifex let out a death knell before dying, its blood soaking into the floor. Lyra took a deep breath, relaxing at the sight of the creature's death, before walking towards it, carving knife in hand.
Marcus looked up at Ness, trying to formulate anything to say after losing his arms. "ow. he eventually settled on. Xyleena joined Ness and looked Marcus over, before sighing. "I'll get the engineers fabricating on his new arms. Shouldn't take them long.

Ness calmly nodded toward Xyleena before stopping her little painkiller spell and looking over toward Erica and Valentine. "Are you two alright?" She asked, feeling slightly concerned. She also noticed the odd feeling of her mental link with Jessica completely missing. Damn it... She must be worried... but if things are going to keep going like this, I don't want her in harm's way...
