"Good. For what it's worth, I think you made the right choice." Jessica said to Felina, nodding at her a bit. "And don't worry. I'll work on coming by again when I can afford to." She said to both of her hosts. "Bye for now, though." She added as she walked out the door and off away from the town for a bit.

Loki sticks his card in the card reader until a bleep was heard, then retrieved it. Accepting the key, he entered the coresponding room where he swtiched to his sleeping attire and climbed into one of the beds.

In the training room, there were several students practicing elemental magic. All unfamiliar faces, as neither Rica nor Valette were present. Several ov the students were unnerved at the sight of Xylena, however.

"What's that thing there?"! one of them exclaimed.

Rita, room key in hand, decided to stick around the lobby for a little while as she wrote in her book. That fisherman yesterday said something about sea monsters... got me thinking, I may be able to craft some lightning based spells, could come in handy against aquatic creatures...

"Good evening sir, I have a proposition for you. The Legaian army has sent me out to recruit you, we believe that you are one of the worlds top minds, and would love to have you working for us!"

Brooke would see several soldiers and large Golems roaming about the base.

"Oh? Well, that's all well and good, but what is the offer?" Geo asked.

Once she was well out of sight of Holadino, and more importantly, the soldiers in Holadino, Jessica teleported off into the Winterhorn library. Sasha probably won't care to see me again after what happened last time. I'd better just do what I came here to and leave. She thought to herself as she perused the history section, looking for a book that could tell her more about the wars between Xiphatia and Legaia.

"I wasn't given that sort of information, but based off of what I heard, at the very least you will get recognition as one of the biggest contributions to ending the war, along with that I would guess a hefty salary to allow you to develop tech for the army."

"oh, can the little babies not handle the scary old monster? Is its banana head too terrifying? How about the old anorexics body, with the jutting ribs and all that. Bet she could really fuck you kids up looking like that. You all failed the test. I had delicious candy, and you'd all get some, if you acted like civilized beings to the non-human female, but that one asshole just failed you all. None of you get candy now." Marcus pulls out a small bar of chocolate and chomps it almost painfully with his teeth, yelling theough a full mouth "oh my gawd, this candy is so delicious, if only you people had been polite to miss Xyleena. Fuck all of you, we're out of here." Marcus saiveled on his heels and marched out, Xyleena following behind them, with Lyra watching with a confused expression on her face. "I- what- I just. WHAT THE HELL MARCUS?!" she begins jogging to catch up with Marcus.

Interesting... they use Golems. It seems this 'Tiberius' may be as powerful as they say. Or, at least, his army might be. I do wonder what this conflict is about, though...

Jessica would find several books on the subject. According to the history there have been several cycles of war an peace between the nations. A few facts would stand out.

The peace before the war 20 years ago had lasted for 50 years.
Most of the wars seemed to be the result of expansions which caused the two to bump heads. Though, other causes seemed to include religious and on at least one occasion a former King of Xiphatia demanded the head of the Legaian Prime Minister, for no known reason.
The Legaian capital was formerly Fourside, but was moved to Solaris when he was built approximately 50 years ago.
No nation has ever completely won the wars. Never once has a Head of State been killed in a war.

Most of the students seemed to have no idea what Marcus was going on about, or even care. They were a little two freaked out by the monster they had just seen.

"You're from the military? I don't make weapons of war. So don't bother asking me to." Geo replied.

Lyra chased after Marcus, but he quickly outpaced her and headed into the woods, setting up camp with Xyleena. Knowing which way they went, Lyra decided to give Marcus time to cool off over whatever the hell that was about, and went up to the library, meaning to do more research on the imps.

What's with these insects?
"Is that so? There must have been some reason why your work is deemed so important, do you perhaps create things that would be useful for supporting the nation in other ways?"

Jessica read through all the books she had found on the subject and attempted to make something of a tally of how many times the two nations had gotten into wars with each other. I'm beginning to think my idea may be correct, unforunately... She thought with a sigh as she looked over what she had learned. She looked up from he books when she noticed Lyra come in. "Oh, hello. Fancy meeting you here."

A student sees Jessica in the library. Don't I know her?

"I create tools. Nothing more. But I have no intention of simply making anything for the military. I'm not going to create a weapon with the sole intent of killing people." Geo replied.

"oh, hey. How'd you get here?" Lyra asked, feeling floored.

 

[Furioso]

"Roy" frowned "If you insist." "Roy" walked off, and headed towards Fourside

"I just teleported in." Jessica answered Lyra with a shrug, like it was no big deal. "Came up here to do some research on my assignment here....Not exactly looking good so far." She said as she closed up the book she was reading. "So what are you doing here?" She asked.
Feeling somewhat unnerved by one of the students paying her more attention than she'd like, she looked back over and asked, "Can I help you with something?"

"don't really know right now. Need some peace of mind, really. Poor Xyleena got gawked at again, and Marcus tried to stop it by being weirder, and I'm just really tired of Xyleena being singled out, even if she is different."
