@Trt, Tedd is a geek, Therefore is pretty Genre Savvy, so he'll know that Grace will be fighting some Big Bad and in the fray, flying castle =Magic=Wizard=(Through Ridcully mind-cross) Towers. Simple as that. Also, Fantasy world Tech VS Magic + Ragtag bunch of misfits who are thrust into the conflict = Group are protagonist, therefore fighting=group.
@Salty: Genre Savviness isn't being aware you're in a work of fiction. It's being aware of common tropes/archetypes that apply to their situation, and using them to work out what's going on.
For example, in Borderlands 2, Jack thinks he's being Genre Savvy when he tries to kill the Vault Hunters, because he knows that the hero always wins, and he believes he's the hero. He isn't aware he's in a game, though.

@Salt, Oh, forgot. Though of course, being failry Genre sauvy would be in-character for most of my characters, Ridcully being from a world where Genre-savviness is very useful, Where Tedd and Grace comes from, Rule of Drama is practically an observable law, and Grace... Well, I suppose I don't really have any support for Grace.

OoC: @Tribly: Your example is a work of fiction. Making such assumptions indicates that the characters are aware of Tropes of fiction. Tropes rarely apply to reality. As such, it indicates an awareness of being in fiction. Plus, it doesn't apply in the real world. Ever. And it doesn't really apply in this world on the whole. Icarus is less evil, and more arrogant and uncaring. He's the closest thing this world has to a villain.

Only those who know a certain code can enter." Loki answered, then paused. "But back to the point. Perhaps it is indeed no concern of yours. However, the means that would enable you to return to the place from whence you came might be lost in the fires of war. I know not what that would be, or if it even exsists, but it is somthing to take into considderation."

For reasons unknown to Grace, her punches did no damage at the golem shimmered slightly in the placed where she punched. A fragment of a second later, the blows were reflected back at her. "Hahaha! Fools! See how powerless you stand before me!"
Hearing Rémy, icarus looked at the bullet next to his feet, then back to Rémy. "Are you as blind as you are dumb? I had already forced that thing out, and healed the wound." Icarus gave the bullet a slight shove with his foot, making it roll as far away from him as posible with the shield blocking it. A fly grabbed on to Rémy, latching on to his lower back.
Unlike last time, Rex's punch yielded the same result Grace's attack did, which is to say the golem shimmered where struck, and send the force of his attack right back at him.
Seeing Yukino weakly walk towards him, Icarus looked at her and laughed. "You've grown so weak, I couldn't even hear you. Pathetic!" making a swing at Yukino's direction with his sword, Icarus unleashed a vacuum cut towards her.

The two golems Envy, Tedd and Dredd where fighting ended up walking into eachother, and fell over. Unable to get up, they remained where they were.

Jessica made her way to the town of Everwood. Having heard about what had happened to it from Sophia, she felt inclined to stop by on her way to her intended destination.
