April 12, 8957 AE XX: Xiphatian and Legaian forces began to fight through the city. They each claimed that the other attacked them. The attack came in the middle of the night, most people were asleep, and no one seems to have witnessed the fateful initial attack. Either because they were asleep at the time, or they died in the attack. The nature of the initial attack is unknown. Possibly due to the fighting that followed erasing or obscuring any evidence of the attack that started it. There were massive casualties on both sides. More dead than wounded, as the wounded seemed to only have come from the counter attacks. Both nations blamed the other for the attack. Huh, the exact same date as what that ghost gave me. Well that certainly can't be a coincidence. Let's see if someone's already done research on this particular event. Jessica once again pressed on through the book, aiming to wring as much out of it as she could. Having not seemed to have noticed anyone in the library with her, she devoted her attention fully to the book, no longer bothering to look up and around at her surroundings.

In Winterhorn, the midterm examination had started. On the ground floor, the training area, of the main tower several students were present each one displaying the progress they had made in the three major fields during the course of their studies once their name was called. Judging were the teachers of who taught their respective spells. Head mistress Anna was also present, as an observer. After the students recieved their rating, there was one person left.

"Who are you to appear here, in Soalris's airfield, miss..." A young red haired woman said as she walked up among the soldiers. They seemed to move aside so that she could pass.

One of the great mysteries of Valencheirn are the ash ghost which appeared not long after the city's destruction. After much investigation, they have been found to be unaware of their deaths. They are not magical in nature, as they seem to be both Xiphatian and Legaian descent. What's more, no person has ever been found to have conducted any sort of necromancy on the people of Valencheirn, which is highly illegal. In addition, only those who seemed to have died in their sleep have turned into ash ghosts. Any attempt to inform them of their deaths is brushed aside. Our best guess is that these people became the ghost due to the trauma and ignorance of their deaths. How this is possible is currently unknown as it has never been seen before.
A bit of butterflies in her stomach Sophia stepped from the others that had already done their tests. "I'm ready." She said after a deep breath. She was still wearing her hood and sash. 'Ok, just like we practiced... you can do this.'
"Me? I might just be the one that saves your very dimension" The girl replied. "But I guess that's not a big thing is it?" She asked the red haired women, even though she wouldn't see it, the girl was smirking slightly.
