"Yup." Axton said simply as he opened another beer.

"I have to admit I expected more... discipline from a veteran."

"...Feel like we've been over this before. You remember my commanding officer sentenced me to be killed by firing squad, right? Did I not tell you that?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Yes, you mentioned that before. I apologise for bringing it up again."

 

[Outisakanobody]

"Yeah, well, that should explain my lack of discipline despite my training. I guess. Kinda. Not really. I guess I was always better at the 'being awesome and killing stuff' than the 'take orders and do stuff by the book' stuff."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"I try and be restrained, but I have still caused some collateral damage..."

"Same here...without the trying to restrain myself part."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"How much have you destroyed?" Samus asked.

 

[Outisakanobody]

"...I didn't keep track exactly. You blow a lot of shit up in war, ya know?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"True. I've blown up more than a few planets."

 

[Outisakanobody]

"...The fuck? That's horrible! What's wrong with you?" Axton asked in apparent horror.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"They were accidents! And blame the Space Pirates, they put self-destruct timers on everything!" Samus retorted sharply.

 

[Outisakanobody]

"I'm just kidding. Yeah, pirates are usually assholes."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Oh... you were joking. Sorry." Samus said, looking away.

 

[Outisakanobody]

"Eh, I probably should have guessed you'd take it hard. I'm sorry." Axton said, though he didn't look all that sorry as he leaned back in his chair and drank his beer.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Thank you." Samus said, not looking at Axton.

Axton felt a little awkward, so he focused on drinking.

Samus said nothing, but opened her eyes and took another swig of her drink, looking back at the gauntlet on the table.

Axton continued to drink.

Seras started to feel tired and bored so she got out of the water and dried off.

Samus walked over, picking up the gauntlet, and walked back to her room piling it with the rest of her armour before coming back into the main room.
