Matilda, upon hearing the nervous voice coming from the snake-girl, decided having a magic sword out might give the wrong impression. She returned it to its cane form, then made her way over to the new arrival. [color=006d5b]"Can anyone else smell that?"[/color] she asked, pinching her rather sensitive nose.
"Easy. You were knocked unconscious when you arrived. I have a vulnerary here, it'll heal any damage the fall might've given you." Robin offered a blue glass vial about the size and shape of a wine bottle, shaking it slightly so the liquid inside audibly sloshed. His nose crinkled from the smell, but the sack of fish earlier had numbed him a bit.
"Looking at a person with snake hair isn't the weirdest thing I've seen here. That's weird." Jane muttered after approaching.
[color=006d5b]"Snake hair? Like... actual snakes for hair?"[/color] Matilda said, sounding obviously surprised.
Topaz quickly approached Sybylla and put his hand near the snakes on her head. "Can I pet them?"
You look over at EMily as she walks away, wondering to yourself if your brass hook has gotten so dirty that it's no longer noticeable. [color=0066cc]Then again, it is dark and chaotic here. I guess it's not that surprising after all.[/color] As you consider this, you realise how tired you've become and resolve to put everything else off until the morning. You head to your hut and lay down in the straw that's been your bed lately. Despite the discomfort, you quickly fall asleep.
"Feh. Sure it can't do the same job as a real soldier." Jane said derisively.
"How does this work?" Homer asked, looking at the floating ball.

Upon inspection of the smell, those near the reptilian humanoid could best describe it as someone who was, at best, vaguely acquainted with the concept of bathing, but never quite got down the practice thereof.
Hearing numerous voices nearby, the creature's head began darting to vaguely face the source as she heard them. "W-We're all jus' simple farm-folk out here... N-Nothing fer Daizen and their lot ta be concerned with... Ya'll kin jus' leave..." please please please please please jus' leave... Trying to seem more threatening/less pathetic, the creature stood up to it's full height, the gesture not likely to prove effective as she both stumbled while doing so, and stood roughly only 5'6" (168cm) tall. Finally taking in what Robin had said, she replied, "W-Wait... 'arrived'? B-But ah never went nowhere?"
The snakes atop the creature's head didn't respond terribly warmly to Topaz as he approached. They reared back and threateningly hissed at him, and would attempt to bite him if he had his hand within snapping range. "Please d-don't do that! They really like it when folks try'an touch 'em!"

"Using this thing means we can send it into a hazardous or unknown environment before people are sent. Then we can adapt suits to go into the environment. That is the purpose behind the probe. It's got gravity, atmospheric, radiation sensors, and of course a camera. It uses a computer system to help analyze environments. It floats through an anti-gravitational device on the bottom. It also has a cloaking device and a radar jammer to make it invisible. We didn't use it in this case since we aren't spying on anything."
"Doesn't sound that impressive." Jane said, putting on an aloof air.

They first started out as general purpose environmental checks by our space programs to help assess planetary conditions. They helped scout out and monitor contaminated and quarantined areas during the Germ War in the 2500's."
