Femesh Daer

Speedy was with Robin and Shara, the time in Femesh Daer. Not being able to do much but sleep and eat, and looking around a bit, not liking the robots Yeager had left, he waited, hoping for something to happen.
And sure enough, one day, his internal computers showed a message from Emily. He read through it, very curiously, very impressed. And after he had done so, he chose [Chat].

He did not stay in this world until Shara was healed. Being confident in Robin's abilities, he left, after saying his goodbyes, with Emilys help. Back to where he came from, his own world.

Ruins of New York City / Lair 352

Speedy was happy. He arrived at his girlfriends in time. Finally, he was not interrupted on the way there. And even though he had gone missing, he had a lot to talk about. The whole science community was impressed with what he had told them. Not everyone believed him, of course, but as there was footage of him vanishing on the road, he kind of had proof for what he was saying.
People were interested in how humans lived. Speedy told them that sadly, he did not know what would eventually cause their downfall, as he did meet no competing monsters. But at least people now knew that humans did have no fur. This sent quite a murmur through the community, and led to the new theory, that humans did wipe out themselves, and were not eaten by monsters.

Speedy was not interested in finding another way into another dimension. This adventure had been enough excitement for him. He rather had a more quiet time, with his family and girlfriend, racing between the lairs. Others however searched for a way, even though Speedy warned them that everything was too big somewhere else. Still, he gladly told them all of his own theories, save for what he knew from EMily. This, he did not tell. As it was knowledge people had to find out for themselves. He did not want to stop advancements in technology. And he reintroduced the use of electricity as fuel. Not that there was any lack of other fuel, but it was an easy alternative if someone strayed off the path and ran out of normal fuel.

Speedy got rich through all he told and invented. He did have no more sorrows (not that he had a lot before). And so, he ran to his girlfriend, after everything was set.
They cuddled after he arrived, and they lived happily ever after.

The End.

Porto Velho, Brazil

Noise and smells awaited her on the other side. And some hot ... rock? under her feet. Nothing was familiar. And the hearts ... there were so many. More than even in Vala. And some were moving fast ...
Anik already felt dizzy. Just having stepped through the portal, and now this. She made some clicks with her tongue, but it was too loud to get much information. Standing somewhere, she did not know where she was. Now, now she started to regret her decision. Still, there should be something to discover.
Anik took her cane, and started to walk. Only a few metres, and she heard a screeching noise. Someone shouted at her. She did not understand a thing. She hit something with her cane. It was a single step. She did step on it, then walked a little bit further, quite slow. The rock under her feet seemed to burn her feet, but it was far too hot to wear any boots. The cane hit something, it sounded metallic. Anik got close to it, and started to feel it.
A tree out of metal? What ... Timea, what is this world?

The hearts got to her. The heat got to her. Everything alien got to her. Anik just sat herself down, not daring to take another step. She felt nauseous and sick. She ... "Get me out of here! Someone! Help!" At the end, she just screamed, until she could no more. And broke down.

"Como estas?" Someone placed a hand on her shoulder. She did not know how long she had laid there. "I ... do not understand." The man talked to her, in a language she did not know. Anik wanted to respond, but she could not. She had a headache. She had to puke. She felt for her bag, it was not there anymore.

Anik jumped up, screaming, punching in random directions. It was too much. She had nothing anymore. She was lost, again. More than ever before. People tried to talk to her, to calm her, but they did not understand her, and she did not understand them. Finally, she felt a prick. Got tired. And fell asleep.

The next weeks were calm, despite of everything. She could not sense any hearts anymore, for some reason. People gave her things to swallow, and she did, not caring much what it was. She slowly explored the space she was in. It was a small cell, but the walls were soft. The bed as well. After a time, she began to understand a few words of the language the people spoke. After a while, someone came who could even speak her language. Not very good, but it was something. Still, she did not understand much what they explained. Some time later, she got moved out of the cell, into a room she could leave every time she wanted. She did not want to. The outside world was scary. She got her bag back, but her swords and her dagger were gone. Everything else was there, but it was not much use. She spent the nights holding the little pine tree statuette from Timea, the days she was lead places. To eat, to swallow things. To wash. Her space was small, but comfortable. When she was able to do basic conversations in the language, which was apparently called Portuguese, Anik was told she would get training, to live outside. She did not want to, but people explained she could not stay forever.
Anik got a new, fold-able, cane. She was taught what cars were, traffic lights. How she could navigate them. At some point, Anik asked about reading. People gave her paper with dots on it. And someone explained to her, patiently, what each of them meant, while she could feel them. People assumed she had gotten blinded recently. Robbed, and left on the street. That she had lost her memory from the trauma. As they could not figure out where she was from, they gave her some papers. Apparently she was now a citizen of Brazil. Of course, she did not know what the papers said, or meant. But she took them. Anik spent all her days learning to read, and reading the things she got. Everything from fiction to political things. Technical things. She did not understand much, but she still read everything.

Some time later, Anik was led through the outside world. Always with guidance. They got her some new clothes, very short pants, very soft, short and light shirts. And sandals. They got her wood, to carve. They tried to not give her anything of the stuff she swallowed, anymore, but as Anik started to panic outside, got her a bottle full of pills, and told her she should take two a day. And instructed her to find a pharmacy, if she ran out. At some point, she could walk through the streets by herself. Always unsure. Walking into people, as she did not have the hearts to locate them anymore. Still, she could find the clothing store, the grocery store, the pharmacy, the postal office and other stores by herself. And at one point, she was finally let go. Out of the mental ward. Into a new life. She could not yet work, but she got some money and a little apartment in a shanty town, on the outskirts of the city. A new drug had appeared, and drug use was on a new high, though Anik did not try it. Instead, she started to go to the library. She could not read anything there, but she asked people to read her. Mostly, about dragons. About the past, about the history of the world. Mythological history. Maybe, she thought, maybe there was something about Timea in there. She did not find anything. She got angry, easily, with several people, who refused to read to her after a time. At last, she met two regulars, who just stepped back when she had her moods, and came back to read to her. About dragons. She finally felt some comfort, even though the world was still strange. At one point, she wanted to stop taking the pills. To find a quiet place, outside the city. Maybe find another way to travel worlds, by herself.

And one day, as she was heading from the shanty town into the proper part of the city, someone approached her and said, in slightly broken English: "I heard you were asking about dragons?"

Epilogue: One Door Closes...

The Palladein Merchants Guild, motivated primarily by profit but also by Yeager's actions, began developing scientific principles, as per EMily's letter. In time, this led to the formation of an independent scientific organisation, but at first it was simply merchants and other educated members of society working together. It didn't take long for steam technology, then later electricity-based technology, to be developed. The main advantage they had was sorcery, and Yeager's blastia, both of which allowed them to use power sources other industrial societies, such as that of Earth, did not have.

First, boats were constructed, making international travel faster and aiding trade routes and discovery of new lands. Trains followed, linking up the deserts of the south with the frozen mountains in the north. Settlements prospered, thanks to the easier methods of trade and new industries, leading to the growth of new cities.

However, one frontier remained; the barrier between worlds. All documentation noted that the growth and industrialisation was thanks to travelers from worlds most people would normally never even hear of. In time, a desire to see more of these other worlds came about. Over the decades following the first instance of interdimensional travel on Avinah, theories were crafted and tested.
Eventually, over a century later, the second successful occurrence of interdimensional contact came about. A world known as Earth, which had spent the previous couple of years working on their own interdimensional technology, was discovered...

As had been stated, the Calibethan Empire was dissolved, with the major cities becoming capitals of new nations. Vala and Calibeth City both remained part of the same nation, having been founded by Calibeth himself. However, Calibeth City was not used as a settlement for a while, due to the destruction that had been caused.
At the same time, official peace treaties were drawn up with Vesh and Kaisir. These treaties also included agreements to share research and technology. Sorcery was again legalised in Calibethan territory, and none of the new nations repealed these laws.

If Yeager's Red Eyes were to find anything wrong with the Empire's actions, and set off the robots, they would find themselves drawing the wrath of Calibeth himself. If his hand were forced, Calibeth would simply reduce the robots to slag and turn the Red Eyes to ash with his bare hands.

After the interdimensional travelers left Videnavya, the elves were left to discuss their issues alone. While the process was long, and nearly turned violent at some points, eventually reasons for hostility were gone. The elves that had been living at the base of the tree were allowed to return.
However, some of the elves wished to remain on the ground, and eat meat as they had done previously. These elves left Videnavya entirely, wandering the forest until they came across another settlement of elves who also consumed meat and other animal products.

Rebecca remained in Femesh Daer, developing new technology based on things from her own world, leading to telecommunications and electronics. In time, she also expanded her business ventures into those she was more familiar with. She would also keep her business relationship with Yeager's business going, hoping to eventually fill the void he had left by leaving.

The weeks you spend locked up feel long and dull. Most of your time is spend exercising to burn away the anger always growing inside you. Every time Robin visits, you suppress what you really want to say so he wont decide to simply let you waste away. The short visits do break up the monotony at first, but eventually you feel they are only an annoyance.

When Robin finally brought the good news to you, you could hardly believe it. But as Robin preformed the ritual and then cancelled it in an impressive display of magic, you felt a great weight being removed from your shoulders. You soon felt embarrassed as well, since in your joy you rushed up and kissed Robin.

In the days after, you first recuperate in Femesh Daer before making a short trip to Vala. There, you collect the weapons and equipment taken from you earlier. In the inner pocket of your armour-vest, you find a mysterious datapad from EMily. The message you send back is short, but in it you state that while the two of you did not see eye-to-eye on many things, you did share a passion for the stars.

When you get back to Femesh Daer, you struggle daily with whether or not you should ask EMily to do the same for you as she did for Speedy. You feel awkward around Robin, but despite that you are unwilling to leave him. The world itself, however, you are completely done with and finally you decide to simply ask him what he is planning to do. When he tells you that he plans to go to the world of EMily, you decide to join him on the trip. Though you wish to someday return to the universe of your birth, you do not mind a detour. Because once again the universe, with all its diverse beauty and terrors, await you...
