As Peach, Beak and the others approached the church, they would see it was in a state of considerable disrepair. The front doors were wide open, and the wooden floorboards were cracked, as though an 8.8 tonne woman had walked all over them. There was a broken, cylindrical altar at the far end of the room, one half pulled out of the floor and the other broken off from the bottom half.
The broken-off top half had been dropped on the floor, making a large hole similar in size and shape to the hole next to the bottom half, suggesting the top half of the altar had been picked up, moved and dropped again. In the basin-like section of the top half was a few drops of drying blood.

"I see." Timea hummed to herself, bringing a knuckle up to her chin and lightly moving the knuckle over it as she thought things through, thinking what to ask next. Not long after, she lowered the hand, and shrugged. "Whatever the case, I'm sure you've noticed I don't belong in this world, and there are others in that position as well, coming from other worlds to this one, seemingly at random. Do you know what is causing this?"

Village, church - some point in the future
If someone were to inspect the blood in the altar, and had a sense of smell strong enough to pick up on its scent at least four hours after it was shed, they would find that rather than the scent being iron-y, it would have smell to it that could be described as an odd mix of rust and cherries. Furthermore, now that they had dried, the droplets looked crystalline, and if one had eagle eyes, and were to look very closely, they might see a moving swirling pattern.
Beak went up to the bloody altar and started to smell the blood "I have an idea, maybe I can track who's blood this is by its sent."
