Honest Jack thought. "We never really called it a name. We never thought of it in fancy terms like 'world'. it was always 'shithole'. Ha, guess thats the official name for it then." Jack guffawed, finishing the fish.
"It varies, but some of them are bigger than houses, and can cut you to shreds with there teeth. And then there's the merfolk, deep down." the man stated. "You're not thinking of going after them, are you?"
Since the villagers apparently weren't chucking stones at Sibylla as she walked back into town, she followed her nose over to the fish buffet, tripping and stumbling occasionally as she walked, but never completely losing balance and toppling over. Once there, she snatched up a piece of fish and greedily tore into it, taking massive bites and showing nothing even approaching table manners. After eating about 2/3rds of the piece herself, she tore off small slivers with her bony fingers and held them up above her brow, whereupon one of the snakes atop her head snatched the piece from her and swallowed it whole, repeating this until the remainder of the fish was gone.
Robin came back to the others, sitting on the cart and waiting for one of the plates to free up, listening to the others.
"That would depend on how you define after that", Timea responded, momentarily looking back to the nearest house to use as a reference in judging the size of a potential beast of such a size. "I'm not going to hunt one, but I'm quite interested in seeing such a beast." Timea lied, not feeling like explaining how a single woman could hope to take on whale-sized fish.
"How far out at sea could I find these creatures, and how deep below the surface?" she asked next. "And "merman"? What might those be?"

"The only way you'd see them is if you go underwater, and that's a fast way to get killed, or worse." the man stated. "Merfolk are like humans, only they live under the water. Almost as bad as pirates."
Heno, saw Sybil coming. Being the man he was, he immediately went over and said "You have snakes fo-And you really need a bath." He said while attempting to pick up Sybil by the shoulders and physically move her towards the ocean. Probably getting bit by snakes in the process.
Hearing the man's description of merfolk, Timea pictured them exactly like humans, which then made her wonder how they could breathe. She didn't think all too much on it, more puzzled by another thing the man had said. "Worse? Now what could be worse than getting killed?" she asked with a slightly confused tone.
"Inciting Kuvita's anger, for a start. I heard a story about a sailor who tried fishing without a talisman to Kuvita or anything. He and his crew all died of dehydration, because he was so terrified of water he threw all the drinks overboard. And then there's the merfolk's necromancy."
"Heno, leave her be." Robin told the massive man with the tone of a parent scolding a child. He took a large leather bound book out of his pack, reading it as he relaxed.
Honest Jack thought. "aside from some passing acquaintances, I wasn't friendly with folks. They didn't take kindly to outsiders, most times. I didn't find the need to make friends when sellers and buyers did it." Jack put more fish out, and took a few bites himself. He ate with care, but used his fingers.
The two teen soldiers finished their fish, Homer going to replenish their depleted canteens at the well while Jane relaxed.
"Whu--Hey! Stap that!" Sibylla shouted as the strange man she didn't know tried to grab her shoulders. The prediction of snakes bites was quite correct, as Sibylla's snakes didn't appreciate the possible threat to their host and as such all snapped to bite at Heno's hands and arms. Sibylla herself also tried kicking the man with her girl feets, though she wasn't terribly strong.
Hearing the man's story, Timea raised an eyebrow, it sounding like a bunch of superstition to her. She opened her mouth, about to claim such, but didn't as she realised what would sound like nonsense on her own world could well be true, here. "Really? That is... something", she settled on saying. "Well, I'd still like to know how far out to sea these creatures would dwell, and how deep. If only to sate my curiosity."
"So, you're a loner, huh? I guess if the world you live in is so tough, it might be hard to make friends. Someday you may find someone you trust. Maybe it's one out of a thousand, but it's at least a person who's got your back. Maybe you'll find a friend within our group while you're here on this world. I know it'll make the world seem a lot less lonely." EMily's voice sounded a little hopeful, but she was unsure if her words meant anything to the man.
"It's just my experience since I live with a lot of friends. Just keep what I said in mind, even if you might not believe in it. I had a sister who had a hard time making friends."

Heno's only reaction to the snakebites were winces, and flexing his muscles REALLY hard. His iron skin didn't seem to do all that well against sharp objects, although the snakes would notice quite a bit of resistance from his skin. Once he was close enough to the ocean he spun Sybil around several times before launching her into the ocean with quite a bit of force into the water. He then hurled a bar of soap at her head, and shouted "Wash up while I try and get venom out of system" Droplets of venom seemed to be dripping off the skin of his arms as his brought a glowing hand to them.
