Noting Anik beginning to shiver as Timea placed her nose against Anik's neck, Timea sharply stopped, and pulled away. She then was momentarily quiet again, also feeling more sad. Eventually, she said, "I promise this", she said softly.

Anik sat down as well, feeling unsteady on her feet, after she noticed that Timea had pulled back, which was not something she had wanted.
She turned to face Timea, and listened to what she was saying, carefully.

She was quiet for a time after Timea had finished, thinking. Finally, she answered: "I understand your decision. I ... just hoped, that if Calibeth would come back in a year, instead of in a few days, there might be more life that could be saved. I ... I don't know. Timea too, listened closely to Anik's reply, and the argument she gave, after it. Once Anik finished speaking, a saddened frown formed over Timea's face, this at Anik berating herself. "Please... , don't talk about yourself like that. I should never have... mocked you over the mistakes you made. This was a terrible thing."

After this, Timea paused for a somewhat lengthy time, choosing her next words. During this time, Anik might sense apprehension in Timea, her being afraid of saying the wrong thing. "Regardless", she eventually began. "I don't agree on your views about war. In addition to it being the case that if you stop one, another will simply come later; There are two more factors that make me disagree - which we discussed, back at Veekhutah. I didn't repeat the two earlier points when we argued, because I didn't have the patience for it. This isn't an excuse, but I hope you at least understand.

And there is another factor. War, in so many cases, is not as simple as one side being right, and the other wrong. Would we have the right to decide who is what? Even if you manage to find a perfect middle ground, people on either side may not perceive it as that, but still aiding the others. Unless the war personally threatens you, I don't feel it's right you take these risks."

Anik tried to listen to what Timea was saying, managing to get most of it, her mind was however still quite occupied with self-loathing. When Timea was finished, she said: "I understand these reasons. And these reasons are why I suggested the thing to Et which I did. I felt like anything else was interfering in conflict.

I only feel it is right to try to stop a war when you know that you have the choice between stopping a war and continuing or starting one. If you don't know which one leads to what, you have no right. ... but I might as well stop talking forever. At least I would know for certain that I could not make things worse this way."
