[Silence]

"Don't worry, we should find something for you.
And it's kind of our job to deal with interdimensional travelers. Your are one, right?" the guard said, leading Faa out of the station.

[hr]

Zevrisya would see nothing but the fog-gate portal and the usual equipment in the room.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Well I am certainly that."Candace took the vial, but didn't drink yet.

 

[Vakra jal]

Faa followed, thankful that there was a procedure for this. He hummed "yes I think so, unless Scathis, my home, exists here"

Portal Station

Zevrisya backed out of the room, finding nothing extremely noteworthy, and exited the station.

Hotel

"Are we going to do this, Candace?" Yauna asked, tapping her foot a little impatiently. "Because I have other business to attend to today."

 

[Silence]

"Never heard of that, so probably not." the guard said. "Now, let me make a call, I need to find out who could provide you with meat at this hour.

Do you eat it raw or cooked?"

 

[Vakra jal]

Faa slumps to the floor. "Whatever is quickest" he hummed "I don't know how long I've been gone it seemed like forever "

 

[Drakmorg]

Nina looked at Candace expectantly. [color=ff9966]"You may want to be careful about where you drink it. It's supposed to be a very intense experience."[/color]

 

[Silence]

"Huh." the guard made, not really understanding what Faa was saying.

He then took out his cellphone and called the nightshift of the portal organization, and ordered some meat from the cantina to be brought to the portal station.

"Probably does not take too long, we have kind of a system for emergencies here." he said, after hanging up.

 

[Vakra jal]

"Thank you" he hummed as he lay prone. "This all seems like a nightmare. I went to sleep one night and just woke up in shackles., it's humiliating"

 

[Silence]

"Wait, in shackles? How did you get here then?"

 

[Random berk]

"A basic story of ignorance... Perhaps. But also a story of failure. The Great Crusade has been fought for 200 years to rid the galaxy of such base superstition. And yet, this is what the warriors who fought it are capable of." Ahriman replied to Ms. Richelieu. The minute shift of her gaze high over his shoulder, and the brief hesitation before she spoke, did not escape him. Natural distrust? Or something to hide?

"You mention that others have washed up here unexpectedly? What others, and from where? Why are they unusual?"

 

[Vakra jal]

"Not sure, I was asleep. I never saw the humans who took me. They never spoke either, at least I didn't hear anything. The vehicle I was transported in, I made it crash then I ran. You can check for yourself I'm sure it's still there" the collar speakers explained after Faa hummed

 

[Silence]

"Well, others from other worlds, I can't count them all ... very different worlds, though.
And they can use magic, which does not exist here, as well as some machinery that does not exist here. A lot. I can't count them all, I don't even know them all."

[hr]

"Huh ... so it's in this world? I think we will check it out in the morning." the guard said, impatiently waiting for the delivery of meat.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Candace looked to Yauna. "I... I think not. I appreciate the offer, but I'll try this." She held up the vial, then looked to Nina. "How intense? Do I drink all of it?"

 

[Vakra jal]

"Yeah. It's clear I was brought here for some reason. I shudder to think" he hummed

 

[Kirke]

The three XPOL troopers walked through the portal, and on their way out told everyone inside the portal station to leave it now. Once they got outside, the lieutenant reported in and explained what had happened. It was decided that they'd fall back and recover for now, and wait for the new equipment to arrive. What would happen then wasn't something the lieutenant needed to know, yet.

 

[Random berk]

"Magic, and machinery unknown on Terra?"Ahriman mused. "I confess, I know little about this world as you know it. All of our understanding comes from ancient texts, and some less than reliable accounts in many cases. That 'magic', as you call it is unheard of is... strange. As for machinery, we know little other than what could be gleaned from archaeotech recovered from this time, and from the first hand knowledge and expertise of the Emperor of Mankind. I am here to learn, however. And if this 'magic' is the work of learned men, then I would very much like to meet with others who have arrived here. And your world... an opportunity to see it at this point in it's history is..." Ahriman trailed off, seemingly unable to put his emotions into words. And certainly, the idea of seeing the Golden Age of Technology, first hand and unshrouded by the mists of time was staggering. The benefits it might yield, even more so...

Magic... Perhaps these sorcerors will help lay the foundations for my research...

 

[Silence]

"Do you know what reason that might be?" the guard asked.

 

[Vakra jal]

"I'm the Prince, next in line. Given of Flame." The tone of voice the collar used wasn't too enthusiastic "I'm important. I will be King soon"

Hotel

"As I said, both are options. But, if that's what you want, I can't force you. I doubt we will meet again so, goodbye." Yauna replied. She then recited a short incantation before vanishing from sight.

Now on the Ethereal Plane, Yauna turned and walked out of the hotel towards the portal station, physical objects not affecting her in any way thus allowing her to travel as the crow flies.

Portal Station, Some Time After XPOL Left

Yauna would pass through the ceiling of the building, and walk into the portal room where she returned to the material plane.
