From the sky Faa could see something he didn't understand. The street where the vehicle has crashed still had all the damage of the crash itself. However there was no crashed vehicle, no nothing. Puzzled Faa swoops in the land and take a closer look.

The woman would be asked for the details related to the ticket, then be handed one.

As the pair passed the alleyway, Shana would see a body covered by a sheet being taken away. On one of the walls was a bloody splatter with bits of brain and bone littering the wall and ground around it.

"I don't need an alibi, I didn't do anything wrong." Zevrisya said, walking right by the crime scene. After a few more minutes of walking they would come across a different alleyway, with a hooded cape lying by a dumpster. Zev, making sure to stay in the shade, tossed the towel over Shana's head and put the cape on.
"Okay, got it!" Zev said, returning her eyepatch to its old position and putting up the red-lined black hood. The hood, clearly designed with her in mind, was deep and rigid enough to shade her face. With a flourish, Zevrisya flicked out the cape so it billowed behind her.

Other World

Yauna would open the door, now holding the magically-inscribed tuning fork. "I've completed the ritual. I can't think of any more I would need, yet, so if there's nothing more to discuss I could go and contact XPOL now." she explained.

Forefront HQ, portal room. Previously

"I'd have to get that okay'd with the higher-ups. But I don't think it'll be much of an issue", the engineer remarked, then paused. He glanced up towards the ceiling, considering something. "The food we have here isn't really meant for the human palate, though. You probably could digest it, but I can't say how well it'd sit."

He said this, while looking mostly human, and the technician entirely so, even if he looked pale.

Throne room, otherworld. Presently

"Very well", the representative stated, giving a small nod. With hands clasped behind his back, he stood by, stiffly and unmoving - aside from occasionally glancing around the room.

"So that alleyway had nothing to do with that fight with the human?"

"If it still works like it did ages ago, you could try both, here, or a teashop back on earth.
With me, you are free to choose wherever you want to go. Well, but for now, I would like to try these arms. We're at the station, let me see how to get there." Dala said. She looked around, if there was any information on a trip to Vesh.
Forefront HQ

"Can't you get some human food? Or just let us back into our world to rest, so we come back tomorrow." the bearded mage said.

In the meantime, another mage tried to figure out what was different about the technicians, trying to peer into their minds.
Otherworld

"Blue wanted to speak with you before you go." the servant stated. "She is in the throne room, where you have to pass through anyways."
Earth, Train

The woman thanked the clerk, then got onto the next train to Ottawa. She looked around quite curiously, taking in everything she saw like she saw it for the first time.

"Well, I don't know how these ones will work, as there are many different possibilites. Only ... none of them are really compatible with my magic.
As much as I can gather, I don't think I will feel anything with them. I'm not sure if I get real movement, or if I need to move my shoulders to get something done. The latter would not really be all that pleasant. Still would be good to have them, though."

Otherworld, Keep

Robin led Nina into a larger room further into the keep. Child voices could be heard from some distance already, laughing and blabbering.
As Robin opened the door, Nina could see about 20 children, if guessing possibly the ages 4 to 12. Nearly none of them looked human, or only had some resemblance of human features. Most looked like they had severe mutations, from horns to claws or wings instead of arms, to animal feet. Some seemed to have disabilities caused by these mutations, others seemed to work pretty well with them.

Three kids in Nina's 'age' played with some kind of ball, seemingly slightly bored. Two of them looked to Nina as she entered, and one of them whispered something to the third one.

"True. And you can't go back home looking like that, can you?" Candace said, pointing to her shoulder stumps.

"Oh, no, it does. I just didn't do anything wrong." Zevrisya said, putting the towel over her shoulder and covering her hands with the cloak. "I don't want to poke the metaphorical hornet's nest though, since I'm not sure how the locals would react."

Yauna nodded, and headed to the throne room.

Avinah

Since Vesh was on a different landmass, the cable car station had no information on trips there displayed. If Dala asked, however, she would be told to take the car to Femesh Daer and then a ship to Vesh.

Dala scowled, and answered Candace: "I lost my arms at my home, so they all know about this. I can come back like I am anytime I want. There is nothing lesser about me like this."

She then asked for the way to Vesh, and, after being told they would need to the the cable car, asked the price.
Otherworld

Several children, including the two, waved back.
One of them stood up and walked closer, then simply said. "Hello."

"Fair enough." She sighed. "So now where to? Ever since Dala's shutting down of the portal failed, we're running out of options."

Forefront HQ, portal room. Previously

"Human food's kinda hard to come by. I mean, I could try and ask around, but no guarantees of anything. And answer wouldn't come quick.

If you'd instead like to go back to your own realm, for now, that would be no problem. Portal's still open."

Trying to read the mind of the technician would be to no avail, the mage would find there was nothing there to read. Reading the mind of the engineer, however, would show that he was of a race that diverged from vanilla humans when they moved to another planet, long ago. He didn't know any exact dates. The traditional humans that were present on the base were all undead.

Throne room, otherworld. Presently

As Yauna entered the throne room, the representative turned his head and looked to her. He kept quiet, for now, and let Blue speak.

"My name is Serio." the kid said. "Why do you look like old people, only young?" he then asked - referring to the fact that Nina did not have visible mutations. Serio's arms were broader than a humans, and his skin had scales in a lot of places, seemingly randomly.
Forefront HQ

"Let us do that then." the bearded man said.
The other mage noted the differences, but did say nothing.

Instead, the mages went back to the portal and to their homeworld, to come back the next day and work on.

Throne Room

Seeing Yauna step into the throne room, Blue walked to her. "Greetings. Were you successful?
We have another ally here, he wishes to be involved in the plan. Would you like to discuss it, quickly? I already explained the general idea."

"Yes, I was successful." Yauna said, before turning to the representative. "Put simply, the plan is to locate Anik and get to her, then bring her back here with a spell of mine. That's what the tuning fork is for." Yauna held up the object, before continuing, "More specifically, I know the name of the XPOL officer taking Anik to wherever she's currently going. If I contact XPOL and request to speak with her in person Blue should be able to discern Anik's location from the officer's mind. I also have some other spells that can help with locating Anik. Once we have her location, I have a spell that functionally would make us invisible and intangible in order to get to Anik, and a spell that can bring us, with Anik, right back here."

Dala would be told that a ticket for her and Candace would cost a total of $30 in the local currency.

"Options for what?" Zevrisya asked, being somewhat out of the loop.

Faa's investigation was fruitless. The APC having seemingly vanished. The only thing he noticed was the air seemed to be denser. He took to the sky once again, feeling a lot more comfortable but a little uneasy.
