"And what does that have to do with wolf people?" She was genuinely confused.

"This is definitely Ground Zero." The black haired woman thought aloud as she continued working with her holographic screen. "But this portal here is 100% artificial. Who would want to set up shop in this dump though?" As the portal started to flicker, more readings came up on the screen. "Looks like we're not going to find out, this thing's getting unstable."

"Well, making two full arms... extra inscriptions... It should be done in a couple of days." the man told Dala. He then explained to Candace, "They're inscriptions, not 'runes'. As for how they work, they allow the user to move the metal like an organic limb."

"Sounds kinda dumb. What kinda moral dilemmas could you have about technology?" Zev asked. "And what are corporations?"

In another dimension...
The bounty hunter hummed, wondering where to go. In the end she decided to flip a credit chip to decide. Looking at the chip, she said; "Native dimension it is." - With that, she prepared her frigate and was soon travelling through a large portal to the dimension Anik was born in. She then spent some time scanning the surface, to get a feel of the place. She noted that several portals were open, and marked them down as good locations to start searching.

"There are millions of inhabitants in this city, we can't possibly evacuate them all in just two hours! And whatever transgression you've suffered, it was not inflicted by the nation of South Africa." There was a short pause, and then he added; "We do have a lead on where your prince might be, according to XPOL an extradimensional with similar features to you was sighted in the city of Montreal. But that's in Canada, on a different continent. The residents of this city, nor the nation of South Africa as a whole, had nothing to do with it.

I will definitely be back here in a couple of days. I will look for a hotel around here, and mostly stay in this city."

"Well, usually they are activists, or advisors. Different names for the different parts of your job." Sarah said to Shana. To Zev she said: "Well, like if you should replace your arms and legs with metal parts, if you should give people drugs to keep them happy, or if robots have free will.

And corporations are like merchant companies, only huge. Having worldwide influence."

Portal Room

The portal slowly fizzled out, then vanished without a (visible) trace.
Reading could show a clearly magical nature.
Otherworld

For the most part, the surface of the planet was and looked earth-like, with different soil, ice at north and south pole. Less polluted, but stronger supernatural influences, if the bounty hunter could scan this.

One country however, about as big as great britain and ireland combined, looked weird. Just by watching it, the air around it seemed to shimmer and to change constantly, showing different surfaces. Scanning the place would just get the technology to glitch out and show nonsensical data.
Just like if reality was breaking down and rebuilt constantly in this place.

A few portals were seemingly open or had been opened and closed in different places: A great mountain range, an island, a coast, some plains, and just recently one of bigger influence had been closed in a big city.

"Ah I see. Makes sense." She replied to Sarah.

"I'm not quite sure how to react to that, to be quite honest." She said to Rein. "I'm not quite certain what would be the purpose behind that."

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone

Ptaak was content at that. As long as there was some progress. He waved his forearm and the formation eases its stance. There is a snap of fire. Heav's helmet buckles under 10 anti-material rifle shots. 5 glance off the armour, 3 hit the forehead and dents the mask, 2 hit the visor. One shattering it and the second passing through Heav's eye and out the back of her head. With a groan her wings fall limp and she plummets to the ground.
Ptaak turns his gaze from the dead Scath and back along to the city. Seeing the faint bullet trails lead back to a building in the city. "G'VAR ISH TUR, TROK, JU'TAK!" He bellows in rage. The Scath formation locks back into formation and dives into an attack run at frightening speed. A singular roar booming from their lungs as they descend, getting lower and lower to the ground while still at exceptional velocity.

In side the building a team of snipers crouch down inject themselves in unison. They disappear into nothingness. Weapons, armour and all.

"The answers are, obviously, no that's stupid, no that's stupid and I've never met a robot so I don't know." Zev replied, taking only a few moments to consider these apparent moral dilemmas.

There was confusion in the ranks as shots rang out, and a final transmission was sent out; "What the hell?! Who fired!?" But as the Scath charged down from the skies, there was no longer time to worry about that. The soldiers opened fire, with both small arms fire, light cannons and ground to air missiles firing at the approaching mass of enemies. The troopers who had anti-tank weapons readied them, to fire once their enemies got closer. The sole remaining XPOL officer in the city, who had been sending the transmission, looked on in horror.

The bounty hunter frowned at the readings she got. That has to be magic. I'm not flying down into that mess, for all I know my engines would fall off half-way through. The city perhaps? Though a city is a lot harder to escape if the locals turn out hostile. Still, I can be sneaky. I just need a good and well-hidden landing spot. - The bounty hunter zoomed in on the city, checking the area surrounding it for dense woodland or other suitable places to hide a ship.

Sarah laughed out loud at this. "Well, you can make it easy for you.
But if, for example, you would be far better with artificial limbs, what makes it stupid to replace your organic ones?"
Otherworld

It was easy to find a landing place, as near the city were plains, but also some woods, and a swamp.

"I like my sense of touch, and I don't like phantom limb pain." Zev replied, her tone a little more serious than normal. She then leaned down to Sarah and said, "I don't wear this eyepatch for no reason."

Faa collapses to the ground exhausted.
He couldn't land a hit and he had been worn down. Adreniline spent his body collapsed. His heavy breathing the only sound before the Sirens as one approached to secure him for transport.

South Africa, Johanussburg
The Scath themselves open fire. Automatic large caliber weapons mounted on the sides of their helmets like mandibles spit streams of bullets with great accuracy even at high speed. The fire incoming sparking the agility of the Scath to come into play as the formations speads itself thinner and thinner to allow for evasive action close to the ground. Most small arms fire isn't very effective due to size and speed. There was limits to the Scath ability to dodge the heavier ordnance. This at the front of the formation taking hits which tip them off balance, glancing shots shear scars into their flanks, tail ends sliced off, wings pierced of lost all together. Wounded Scath either ceased their charge to land and open fire from a stationary position, tucking wings in to avoid further damage. Those hit harder crashed into the dirt, concussive damage destabilised their flight. In range of the defensive line those who knew they were hurt dive bombed the human positions, tucking limbs in to avoid more damage before impacting into positions. Those that survived or were well enough to fight thrashed and clawed, firing their weapons at exposed Hrem or leaping upon armour to destroy it with pounding claws and crushing tails. Beside Ptaak his remaining wing-mate corkscrewed through a barrage of missles before a cannon pierced it's throat, his momentum sending him spiralling into a building, crashing straight through it and into the other side. The majority of the Scath airborne swept the ground with shots and claws, tails hitting APCs like wrecking balls before passing the defensive line. They were agile enough flyers to dodge between buildings with ease.
The reserves had begun to move up too.

"Oh ... sorry." Sarah apologized without needing to. "But we are talking about cyberlimbs which could also simulate the sense of touch. ... and probably avoid phantom limb pain this way. Maybe."

She was quiet for a bit, before shyly speaking up: "... how did you lose your eye?"

"The ones where I'm from don't do that." Zev replied as she stood upright again. She then took a deep breath and, after a pause, said, "During a raid, someone took me by surprised and shoved his sword through my face, through the eye. What was left of it was removed by medics so I could be made into a vampire."

"But a cybernetic limb can be made with touch sensory. The best ones that I've seen integrate with your neurons. The most top of the line procedures involve completely replicating a lost arm or leg. In addition, eyes, along with all their neurons, can also be replicated."

"As far as artificial intelligence goes, there is a lot to consider. As I mentioned to you before, a robot can be made with human intellect. This breakthrough is why we now consider these kinds of robots as people. But at the time of this idea, there were a lot of people that were opposed to the idea of having a man made object think on the level of a human. It's scary."

"Right. Thank you." Candace gave a slight bow, thankful for the information, then left.

"AI?" Reinhardt piped up to Shana. "Sorry to interrupt, I couldn't help but hear. We have AI where I'm from. It's a not always accepted, but it's about equal with humans."

The scene on the ground quickly turned bloody as both man and machine were destroyed by the fierce attack, but the South Africans put up stiff resistance. This was their home, and they would not give it up without a fight. The Scath who landed found themselves under fire from many angles, and with RPGs and guided missiles bearing down on them. The XPOL agent shook off his inaction and picked up his laser rifle. Aiming for the wings, he sent out accurate streams of fire to force those still in the air down.

By now, the squadron of fighters had closed to engagement range, and attempted to lock on to the fast-moving Scath in order to launch their payloads.

The bounty hunter sighed, "That's the best I'm getting I suppose." - With that, she headed off the bridge in order to prepare her shuttle for descent.
