"You can build things with snow." Anik said to Nina, now also getting in on the picture that it was unfamiliar to her. "Like this."

She clicked and got close to some snow, then started rolling a small snowball. She rolled two even smaller ones, and felt for some broken rock, putting two of them in the top one, effectively creating a tiny snowman.

"Look. I modeled a person." she stated to Nina.

Viyang looked down at Kuki, then nodded. Her eyes began emitting more light, and sparks started to appear on her body, dancing from her fingertips and arcing from her chin to her torso and between her legs. A low rumbling sound [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdj0N3iP_EE] would be audible, sounding as though it were inside Viyang's body. After a few moments, Viyang bent her knees and leapt up into the air with a small thunderclap, leaving a trail of electricity behind her. Since the jump was almost totally vertical, Viyang landed back on the street, now with no sparks around her.

Candace nodded, satisfied, then exited with the others. She saw Nina and Anik playing in the snow, and gave a very small smile.

 

[Chungus]

Kuki looked on with interest as Viyang prepared the electro jump, but was startled when Viyang finally leapt up, wriggling around in the pocket until they recomposed themselves. When Viyang landed again, Kuki was quiet for a moment.

"That was... , uh, that was something! Impressive! I'd like to see this second method, yes. But before that, could you use your natural magic one more time?"

If Viyang answered in the positive, Kuki would oberve Viyang closely, this time while inspecting her basic physiology again, to see what effects her using the magic had on her body.

"Sorry, I ate baked beans earlier." - Ella replied in a deadpan voice. She then looked over at Kuki; "On the contrary, this was quite productive. We know he was human, and that there was no obvious method of ignition. Magic seems more and more likely." She sighed, swearing under her breath - in French - about magic.

Nina seemed amazed at Anik's mastery of snowcraft, gasping with awe and clapping when she was done. When Viyang suddenly made loud noises, Nina jumped a bit as she was startled and fell over into a pile of snow.

Anik tried to do a bow while crouching towards Nina, as she was clapping. Also slightly disturbed, not knowing what exactly Viyang was doing, she took some kind protective, defensive stance, and listened.

Viyang did the exact same thing again, only the leap was less high up. As Viyang demonstrated her magic, her body would change in a few ways. Primarily, she was electrically charged, but more subtly was the fact that the conductivity of her skin changed, some patches conducting better and others becoming less conductive. Additionally, her muscles and organs showed no reaction to the electricity flowing around them. When Viyang landed, there would be no sign of any force traveling through her legs, however Kuki might notice as sudden flare in electric energy around Viyang's feet.

"Have you considered a career in showmanship?" Candace asked Viyang, half serious.

Viyang looked a little puzzled at Candace's statement, but after a few moments she mused, [color=663399]"I suppose away from Reiwan-Zouheir, that might seem unusual..."[/color] She then shrugged and answered Candace directly, stating, [color=663399]"No, the Pevett Guard Service feels like a more appropriate career for me. I honestly doubt I could bear leaving..."[/color]

"Fair enough. One should always know and stay with their calling."

 

[Chungus]

Seeing Anik tense up, Kuki playfully trampled at Anik's side with their hind legs, although not to hard, so to not pierce through the fabric.

"It's fine, Anik. Just research in progress!"

This time being prepared for Viyang's jump, Kuki was only mildly startled. They took note of the processes going on inside Viyang's body, not fully understanding it, but finding it fascinating.

"Okay, I got it!"

Once the demonstration was over, Kuki's eyes returned to normal.

"Okay, can you show this... wand you mentioned, now?"

"I suppose that's true, Ella. I wonder why anyone would do this, though... "

, Kuki said after a pause, thinking aloud near the end. While speaking, they kept their eyes on Viyang.

[color=663399]"So, do you know yours?"[/color] Viyang asked Candace, while she prepared to demonstrate the wand use. She held out her right hand, and the same glyphs that had formed during her fight with Dalahar appeared again. When the magical barrier was complete, Viyang lowered her hand.

"Yes. And it will be realised." Candace said confidently.

"I know, Kuki." Anik said to him, "But I still don't really like magic I don't use myself. It's a thing I'm probably helpless against, no matter what."

A small, dark and slightly french looking guy was slowly walking over to the group, not very sure of himself.

 

[Chungus]

"So this is the more 'mechanical' method of using magic, right?"

Kuki questioned, looking quizzically at the barrier Viyang produced.

"How does this work, exactly? And what did you do, just now?"

Not looking in the direction the guide came from, and him not being close enough for Kuki to really pick up on their scent, Kuki didn't notice the guide's approach.

Candace noticed the approaching man, but didn't respond to him.

[color=663399]"It's Emarian technology. Essentially, it uses a computer to run simulated versions of magical rituals. Then, one of the components containing some kind of magical stone emits the result of that simulated ritual into the real world. I could do the ritual myself, but it could require, say, an incantation or an array to be drawn. Something time consuming. As for what I did, I created a barrier that will slow things down when they come towards me, without slowing things coming from my side. It's a magical shield, essentially."[/color] Viyang explained.

The guy approached the group, and said, shyly, with a french accent:
"Umm ... are you ..." he turned to Anik, "are you Anik? Sorry, I've not done this before."

Anik smiled, and answered him: "No worries, I can show you how it's done.
I'm Fernand."

While he was mostly standing around and following instructions, Anik explained to him how he would guide her at the arm, what she wanted to know, and what he did not need to describe.
She actually mentioned that he should even mention colours to her, despite her not knowing how they looked. She also mentioned that he should mostly just listen to her instructions on where to go, not needing to do much himself.

Trying to look more confident, he finally stood next to Anik, playing sighted guide.

Anik said: "Well now, should we look for our room? What do you say, Kuki?
The others?"

 

[Chungus]

"That sounds very useful, if complicated. And nothing like the devices that utilise magical energies we have back home, at least, I don't think so. Who are these Emarian people you've mentioned, though, and what makes them different from you, Pevettel?"

Kuki asked, next.

"Aside from the method of magic using, that i--."

Kuki cut themselves off as Anik turned around, they, naturally, turning around with her, startling them a little. They moved around in the pocket, until they were facing Viyang again.

"I guess I'll ask the rest of my questions at some later point. Well, unless you want to come with, Viyang?"

After asking this, Kuki shifted in the pocket again, and looked up to Anik.

"I'd like to go visit one of those sites the cyborg miss mentioned, but we can go see the room if getting that would take too long for today."

With that said, Kuki turned to the guide, and asked how long it would take to get to the ED tourist hotspots Lambda mentioned.
