Candace tried moving her arm as fast as she could, but there was nothing outlandish. "Hmm... That doesn't seem to be it..." She thought for a sec, then looked to Dala. "Can you hold something up and then drop it?"
Otherworld
"True enough." Robin replied. "It certainly is a fort. One of the last places of this country that is ... not in danger of getting swallowed by rifts, so to speak. The defenses are against the occassional mutant or hostile outworlder.
But I'm rambling again. This is the keep of the planeswalker Garion the Blue, who oversees this area. We actually all live here.
I ... don't know if you want to meet him, or just get a room for yourself for now. We have enough empty ones ..."

[color=e50000]"Well ..."[/color] Dala began, then shrugged. She took a pillow with her foot, and held it as high up as she could, then let it fall.

Candace reached out for the pillow, blurring from the speed. She grabbed the pillow and yanked it back so fast there was a faint afterimage. "...is it reactions?" Candace wondered aloud.
Forefront HQ, portal room. Previously
The engineer kept watching, going back and forth between looking at the mages work, directly, and reading the data. Unless things seemed to start going wrong, he kept the portal open for as long as the mages needed to study it.

"What would you say, if questioned about our relay beacon?" the representative asked, after taking a breath. When mentioning the pylon, the rep twisted his body a little, and pointed towards it.

The mages studied the portal for a long time, figuring out how it worked, and what signals it sent out.
They would work for most of the day.
Later, they figured out how to basically reverse the direction of the portal's signals as soon as it was created, keeping them from being sent out into the world the portal was heading to. It would be a big change in how the portals operated.

When dawn broke and the sun began rising, Zevrisya would frown a little and find a shady spot in the hotel, where the sun wouldn't shine on her. [color=660099]"Fuck me! Anybody got a cloak or a duvet I can borrow!?"[/color]

"Yeah, might be worth waiting until I've got all my bits back, at least." Nina held up her right arm to look at it. Her injury was healing much slower than any others in recent memory. Her hand hadn't started regenerating yet, but the wound had at least closed. "Thanks, by the way."
Candace got dressed, stowing her weapons and finished the last of her tea. "Ready." She replied.
Shana had finished her breakfast. And seeing as how everyone was somewhere else she started to wander off. But off in the distance she heard Zev's voice calling for a sheet. She took a bath towel from a nearby bathroom and tossed it over Zev.

"No problem. We don't often get non-hostile visitors here, so this is a nice change of pace.
