Scathis
Gha, King of Scathis had addressed his people publicly. In a large amphitheater that stretch skywards for miles. An elaborate structure known as the All'ka, which was the meeting place of Scath since they developed into a cultured society. Where the King would address each Baron and their own vassals. Scath had travelled for miles to be at this historic event, darkening the day with thousands of wings. Scath of all ages came to roost, filling the All'ka to its capacity. The electric monitors and cameras adapted for Scath use broadcast the first gathering here since the encounter with the humans 14 years ago. The gifted technology standing out as dull grey and metallic against the obsidian of Scath construction. The structure was jagged and sharp, a reflection of the Scath of millennia ago. The All'ka stood apart amongst all of newer structures of Scath which adhered to a less brutal aesthetic.

In the shadow of the sheltered and hollow structure, a single spire rose from the centre arena, while the walls around it held tens of thousands of Scath of all sizes and walks of life. Gha was perched alone atop this spite. Majestic and defiant, his anger and sadness held back by his sense of duty this people. He maintained a regal composure. Draped in his trappings of office and regal ribbons that billowed in the breeze. The highest spots of the All'ka were occupied by the Barons and each of their knights along with the Generals of the Scath professional militairy and the dignitaries responsible for running of a planet wide kingdom. Scath that weren't present would be watching over their own monitors in their homes or in lesser amphitheaters closer to them.

No pale ones were present. Nothing could disturb their work as they toiled in the shadow of Scath society.

A planet of unflinching stares bore down on Gha and he returned an eternal gaze of his own to his subjects that bespoke of his power. He was not raucous nor hate filled, rather melancholic. With great regret he informed his people that the first act of the Scath on a foreign world would be all out war. Exactly what the Barons needed to hear. A show of strength to cow their conniving politics. To remind them they stood as one people. That every Scath now will know what lies beyond their world, that those who didn't know them would soon know their terrible strength and to show a united people to all observers

Gha finishes his address on a triumphant and positive tone before officially issuing the state of war with a mighty roar, a roar that all Scath joined, causing the All'ka to rumble. Scath all over roared in their homes and in their places of gathering. As the deafening sound fades Gha signals that his address is over, the Scath begin to disperse, returning home if a civilian or preparing for war if a serving soldier or one of the knightly orders. Gha waits until all Scath have departed, fixing each of the Barons with a stern and challenging stare as they turn to leave. When all are gone he himself takes flight out of the top of the All'ka. Had this been exteme? Of course but the Scath could not abide by one of their most influential political figures disappearing, taken by a hostile nation. Gha had an invasion to plan.......and a Castellan to consult.

Anik went up to horses and carriages she could hear and smell standing, not moving.
"Hello?" she asked.

"... alright.
But first contact rarely goes well, how do you even get the idea it would not be this way? Like, even first contact in your colonies went badly, as far as I know from your stories."

Otherworld

"Simple: Address of prime minister or close associates, so they might be infiltrated.

And a relay beacon would suffice. Thank you. Can you create a portal from my place to there, directly?"

"Mmmm." She said, musing. She looked up as she saw they were at the library. "Looks like this is it. They also should have works of fiction here, if that's also your thing." She proceeded to head indoors and survey the environs.

"Unfortunately, no. However, to avoid being found out immediately, we would need the mages to come to us. If they were ready, you could come with them, then move on to your destination", Holent suggestion. "As for the address, I believe it's within our capabilities to find the location, but it would take time. How do you intend to infiltrate it, however? And what is your plan, after the fact?"

Anik turned her head up to the guy. "Greetings. I would like a ride to the umm ... library. To speak with wizards.
Can you take me there?"

"First contact in other worlds is even worse, most of the time. A lot of things have to go right to keep it civil." Dala explained. "Now, what did you want to find out about these Blastia?"
Otherworld

"Alright, then this has to suffice.

And I can wait until you found out. As for how I intend to infiltrate, this does not have to concern you. Just, after the fact, one of the goals is to get rid of XPOL. Another is to have power. Does this explanation of motivation please you?"

On the early hours of March 7th, the first Scath would arrive through the portal.in the valley of a thousand hills. Hundreds of reconnaissance troops, in the smooth and unassuming harnesses of militairy grade, configured for long range and deep recon. No matter what colour of scales the Scath bore they were all covered in black, even their eyes were an inky blackness. They talked briefly amongst themselves, creeping outwards through the greenery around the portal. Once they had fanned out 500 meters, creating a clear perimeter they turned back in on themselves.

One of the larger Scath began dividing the Scath into teams of 3 before sending them off in all directions. Those few that remainded here began setting up a fixed perimeter to watch for any who would approach the portal. The Scath on scouting and mapping duty flew incredibly high, most of them commenting on how light they felt here coming from a world of higher gravity. It made flying hard to adjust too at first but they quickly adapted.

Tombstone observers maintain distance from the beach head now being formed. Technicians with blank faces and seemingly blinding visors over their eyes toiled away on their advanced computing systems. Numerous small outposts dotted across South Africa were all working in unison to keep the Scath invasion secret. They had their work cut out for them now, the Scath communications system was not encrypted at all and so Tombstone parched themselves in and then began masking the signals.

Montreal, March 6-7
Faa had been bored. Very very bored. He had spent some time around libraries and such but didn't feel like studying. He went and hunted and excersized as usual. On the night of March 6th he had laid down in the lobby of the same hotel to sleep. He wished he had some friends to pass
The time with.

"Unfortunately, it does not. Actively disrupting or harming native life is something we try to avoid", Holent responded, pausing for a while, then taking a breath before continuing. "As such, while we would still help you get to the location, we won't be providing any assistance towards this goal."

South Africa, March 7th
Already on edge by a dimensional rift that they knew was located in the region, but that they could not locate more precisely, XPOL was increasingly disturbed when they picked up fragments of strange transmissions that were too short to target. The ETR squads in the region were on alert, but that was only a small strike-force. XPOL forces in all of Africa only numbered just over a hundred agents and fifty-four ETR troopers.

South Africa, valley of 1 thousand hills, morning

Scath militairy units had begun moving into the area. The Yren'd, the professional militairy, were the first units to come through. Before each operation the Tylaa'd, general, would elect his officers from candidates rather than have a standard career progression as an officer. H'raal'd Ptaak was the first Scath to command a militairy force on non-native soil. His expeditionary force meeting with the record units to collect information before focusing on construction of a supply base for the Scath armies not far behind him. Despite his rather lowly rank he had enormous pressure on him. The Scath themselves had no experience invading other world and we're playing cautiously, especially since no army or any force had came to intercept them. Their appearance must have gone unnoticed. The delegation that had so callously instigated this conflict had put the Scath in the mindset of caution as they believed the Hrem would know they were coming. For now Ptaak had his force being clearing the trees of the valley as colossal pale Scath came through the portal, grunting in pain as they dragged loads of weapons and equipment, portable barracks, point defennse weapons, food supplies, water, raw materials for repair and all manner of logistical supplies needed for a Scath army to function.

"The library? Yes, we're going past there." the driver said. "Hop on one of the carts at the back."

"I don't think I've ever read any fiction." Zevrisya said, as she followed Shana inside.

Inside, they would find the library was on multiple levels, with large glass windows to let in natural light, and wooden walls. Before them was a desk, with stairs to their right heading up.

"There should be lots of stuff here. Maybe something will tickle your fancy."

Shana directed herself to the front desk.

"Excuse me?" She asked kindly. "Do you know where there might be material on the first extradimensional activity in this world? I'm a history buff."

"Not like you could, anyways ..." Blue said, feeling like Forefront did not have much to offer to her in general, but needing them for basic tasks. "But do not worry, I will not disrupt anything. This is to be kept secret all the time, and noone should notice the slight changes."

"Also, books about vampires!" Zevrisya asked, stepping up beside Shana.

The receptionist tapped away at her keyboard briefly, then said, "We do have some books on the first anomalies. And a number of vampire novels." She would give Shana and Zev directions to the two different sections of the library.
Avinah

The exhibit would talk about a substance that seemed to be linked to the blastia, that had started appearing on the world after the anomaly.

While travelling, Anik listened to her surroundings, and smelled, trying to deduce if it was a somehow familiar, medieval, world.

After a bit of time, she spoke up, hoping a fellow traveler might answer. "So ... this library. Is it big?"

"It's pretty big. Buncha towers and big buildings. They say the Eradienne family built it to experiment with the darker forms of magic, away from prying eyes, but if you ask me I think they're just a buncha cowards wanting to not get involved in war and such." the man sitting near Anik explained.

Anik wouldn't smell anything too unfamiliar; she was mostly surrounded by farmland and as such the primary scents to invade her nostrils were those of manure and grasses.

"Sounds good to me." Zev said, as she began wandering away.

A figure in red armour walks the plains of South Africa.

Tombstone base
Helena rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yes the remaining staff arrived. They can continue their little CA project here. Lewis shouldn't hold his breath though" the conversation ended shortly after. Sitting down in her Office of Spartan furnishing she accessed her terminal. She'd dispatched a retrieval team to Montreal to squire the Scath prince. Other than that not much jumped out at her. The superior computing of Tombstone allowing them to continue to shroud the fact that an army was gathering in South Africa. Several others had tried interfering, she surmised this to be some other organisisation aside from XPOL and opposed to them too. She could only wait for now, wait for one little command to stop shrouding the building Scath incursion force. XPOL wasn't an army, they couldn't fight a war. Her Tombstone however was a rapidly growing fighting force. The original plan had been to target XPOL themselves but with this there was no need. The Scath would sweep them and a good portion of however many countries Tombstone deemed appropriate. In fact the more desperate things got the better. The only variable to consider right now was that the Scath could live up to the initial predictions of militairy strength.
She rested her head on one arm, if it were possible for her to be tired then this would certainly be tiring her out.
