Scathis
Gha, King of Scathis had addressed his people publicly. In a large amphitheater that stretch skywards for miles. An elaborate structure known as the All'ka, which was the meeting place of Scath since they developed into a cultured society. Where the King would address each Baron and their own vassals. Scath had travelled for miles to be at this historic event, darkening the day with thousands of wings. Scath of all ages came to roost, filling the All'ka to its capacity. The electric monitors and cameras adapted for Scath use broadcast the first gathering here since the encounter with the humans 14 years ago. The gifted technology standing out as dull grey and metallic against the obsidian of Scath construction. The structure was jagged and sharp, a reflection of the Scath of millennia ago. The All'ka stood apart amongst all of newer structures of Scath which adhered to a less brutal aesthetic.
In the shadow of the sheltered and hollow structure, a single spire rose from the centre arena, while the walls around it held tens of thousands of Scath of all sizes and walks of life. Gha was perched alone atop this spite. Majestic and defiant, his anger and sadness held back by his sense of duty this people. He maintained a regal composure. Draped in his trappings of office and regal ribbons that billowed in the breeze. The highest spots of the All'ka were occupied by the Barons and each of their knights along with the Generals of the Scath professional militairy and the dignitaries responsible for running of a planet wide kingdom. Scath that weren't present would be watching over their own monitors in their homes or in lesser amphitheaters closer to them.
No pale ones were present. Nothing could disturb their work as they toiled in the shadow of Scath society.
A planet of unflinching stares bore down on Gha and he returned an eternal gaze of his own to his subjects that bespoke of his power. He was not raucous nor hate filled, rather melancholic. With great regret he informed his people that the first act of the Scath on a foreign world would be all out war. Exactly what the Barons needed to hear. A show of strength to cow their conniving politics. To remind them they stood as one people. That every Scath now will know what lies beyond their world, that those who didn't know them would soon know their terrible strength and to show a united people to all observers
Gha finishes his address on a triumphant and positive tone before officially issuing the state of war with a mighty roar, a roar that all Scath joined, causing the All'ka to rumble. Scath all over roared in their homes and in their places of gathering. As the deafening sound fades Gha signals that his address is over, the Scath begin to disperse, returning home if a civilian or preparing for war if a serving soldier or one of the knightly orders. Gha waits until all Scath have departed, fixing each of the Barons with a stern and challenging stare as they turn to leave. When all are gone he himself takes flight out of the top of the All'ka. Had this been exteme? Of course but the Scath could not abide by one of their most influential political figures disappearing, taken by a hostile nation. Gha had an invasion to plan.......and a Castellan to consult.
