These guys are the real deal, you cant tell whether they are gansters or homeless because everyone wears a suit in the 1920's... the world of tomorrow, yesterday.

The main thing is to bring in the rubes. Do whatever it takes, sweet talk, insults, slang from the thirties that no one uses anymore. Like "rubes"? Now you're on the trolley.

Hurray for suits and fedoras!
I say bring 'em both back. A lil' snaz n' pizazz never hurt anybody. Well, maybe that Darth Maul guy might've been a better assassin if he didn't walk around in a black cloak with head tattoos and all... but anyways, as Barney Stintson put it "Nothing suits you like a suit!" It's be nice and sexar to see some men-folk in tailored threads and hoppin' down to the juke joint.

I've been playing "Stubbs the Zombie" alot lately too...

Only if we can bring back Elizabethan insults. Thy tongue outvenoms all the worms of Nile. Thou clay-brained guts, thou knotty-pated fool, thou whoreson obscene greasy tallow-catch!

Cymbeline Act 3 Scene 4 & Henry IV Act 3 Scene 2 respectively.

This is true,

we need to bring back the classy attire, and live in a time where long jackets do not equally Emo/Homicidal Maniac.
I was walking down the streets of Chicago and I counted over 15 businessmen in suits and fedoras walking about.
Fedoras are making a comeback, and I am damn happy about it.
now ain't that the cat's meow, get on the trolley everyone!

No. That would be silly.

As for fashion, most people nowadays aren't wearing fedoras, they're wearing some other stupid hat I can't remember that has a smaller brim. Indiana Jones wears a fedora.

We should just bring back the 1920s entirely! But with the internet of course!
It'd be a hell of a lot more fun talking to a troll who I know who's holding a Tommy-gun and wearing a Fedora. It'd make everything better!

I succeeded in this on a small scale. I had a very, very old slang dictionary that provided countless amounts of entertainment, and I managed to get my friends to replace, "Throw up" with the phrase, "Flash your hash". It since died out, but it was fun while it lasted.

I'm all for bringing everything back from the 20s except Prohibition, internetless-ness, and... actually, everything else can make a comeback, with the exception of the rampant racism, though that's a problem with any decade before the 70s, and even a bit iffy then.

I've been throwing random American slang from the 1920s into my regular speech for a couple of months now, ever since Boardwalk Empire started showing on TV here. Of course it makes me sound like an idiot but, y'know, that's not really new. Funny thing is, a lot of the words in that list there are things I've been hearing all my life, either because they're common in British usage or because older members of my family use them.

...but, really, Boardwalk Empire is brilliant. A reviewer over here described it as "Bugsy Malone for grown-ups", so definitely check it out if you haven't already and you're into that sort of thing.
