Grana mock sighed. "Aww, but Captain, we promise we won't burn down the whole island again." Grana laughed as he headed over to the anchor winch. "You just can't take us anywhere, eh Peter?" Grana dropped the front anchor, watching as it splashed into the water. He laughed as a fish floated on the water's surface, apparently stunned by the anchor. Grana felt the anchor hit the sand and locked the winch. "Alright, anchor's dropped. We aren't moving anywhere anytime soon." Damien grabbed a bottle of rum as he passed by the table, handing it off to Sammi. He had seen her eyeing it, and it seemed a waste if no one else was going to drink it. Grana grabbed the netting, pushing off as he tried to reach the top of the masts. He kicked off the mizzenmast's main body, gaining more speed as he disappeared once more into a portal, reappearing near the crow's nest. Grana dusted himself off as he tied up the sails, making sure no errant breeze could crash them into the pier. Grana jumped and landed on the secondary mast, repeating the process. A sing on one of Grana's freehanging ropes brought him back to the tertiary mast, where he rendered their ship dead in the water. Grana walked off the mast, using a portal to pass through the deck safely. A second portal caused him to shoot back up from the deck, reaching 10 feet in the air before coming back down to earth. Grana bent his knees, absorbing the shock and landing safely. Grana spied the merchant flag in the corner and got an idea. "Hey, captain, do you have a guy you know who can do our flag? It feels strange to not be flying the Jolly Roger."

"Just relax... that should be taken care of soon..." Peter didn't wait for everything to be ready, jumping off the side of the ship and landing on the pier. "Now then, I'll be back in a little bit." He went off, carrying the paper he had from before and a sack of money. He had walked up to a bunch of people who where working on another ship. He showed them the money he had and showed them the blueprints he had gotten earlier. The man who seemed to be the foreman gestured to him and the two walked off.

"That changes a few things on my end, but none on yours. Do your best to coerce them to go down the back street to the bell tower, and I will do the rest from there."

"And now comes the hard part," muttered Shinji, a restaurant owner just south of the center of Lasklee, as he heard from one of the waitresses that the three Yarrakona members were finishing up their meal and would be heading out soon. After psyching himself up Shinji browsed his wares before choosing his best bottle of brandy and walking out into his restaurant. He passed by a few of his regular customers as he made his way to a large table in the corner; where three Yarrakona members were sitting. From what he was told he knew that they were all relatively prominent in the family, though the incredibly large man sitting between the two was one of Oyabun Inshi's best men.

He stopped in front of their table, eying all the empty dishes before him, and gave his best smile as he presented the bottle of brandy to them. "My best bottle of spirit for all of you," he started, letting the smallest of the three men take it from his hands to examine it, "I appreciate that you chose my restaurant to come to today; I know that I will have a boom in service tonight thanks to your visit. I hope the food was satisfactory?"

"Hah, it certainly was pretty damned tasty I tell you that. We even got a large bag to take back for later," the small man said cheerfully as he showed the bottle to the others before putting it in the bag between himself and the large man.
"Well I am glad that you enjoyed it. I...also have something of interest for you if you care to hear it," Shinji told them, dropping his voice and doing his best to look nervous. He had all of their attention now. "I...get a lot of people each day and a few days ago I noticed some men in suits who I believe were members of the Buderos. Now I managed to overhear that two days from then, today, that they would be around the bell tower. They said that they were to go into your territory and take out a few of you...I didn't hear any specifics, but I thought it would be important for all of you to know."

There was silence as the three Yarrakona's listened to him, and he had a minute to properly look at them all. They all were in dark leathers (how they could stand being in it with the heat he didn't know) with the largest man having a large chain around his waist. All three of them had shaved their heads, the two smaller men leaving only their beards. As he awaited any form of acknowledgment he was startled when the large man opened his mouth and said in a deep voice, "We'll go look for these men. Let's go guys."

With that they all got up and left the restaurant, leaving Shinji to worry about what would happen if things don't go as planned.

----

"Man I hate those suit-wearing fools," the middle man said as he shuffled behind the short man and in front of the large man, carrying their bag of food. He noticed some birds take to flight above them as they walked down the shadowy street, the large bell tower clearly visible in front of them.

"We'll deal with them no problem if we find any," the small man laughed as he continued leading them down, his laughter becoming a choking sound as he fell to his knees and tried to wrench the arrow that was lodged in his throat. Once he yanked it out he fell to the street, quickly bleeding out. The middle man dropped his bag and had enough time to grab his pistol before he too was hit with an arrow in the throat.

The large man proved to be the most challenging as the archer had figured, dodging a few of the arrows and climbing up the building and onto the roof. Even with a few arrows being shot into him as he climbed he simply shrugged off any pain he might have felt as he charged to where the archer was with the chain in his hand. A few more arrows were shot before the archer lowered their bow to fight the large man; dodging the initial charge and hitting him with the bow. They brought their two weapons against the other, the bow being pulled out of the archer's hands and thrown to the side.

A dagger was brought out by the archer as the large man swung the chain at them as they tried to get in closer. It was an easy dodge that left the man open to be stabbed in the arm and side; but also left the archer open once the large man discarded his weapon and grabbed them by the shoulder.

"This is where it ends for you Night Archer. No more killing any of the Yarrakonas!" he yelled out, starting to crush the archer's shoulders before they suddenly were ten feet away and his face had been kicked in a dozen times. He yelled out in anger as he went to reach for his chain only for a small falcon to come down and scratch at his face before backing off as the archer came in to attack the distracted man. A stab at the arm pit, a stab into the shoulder, and one in the heart did the large man in; his fall showing the end of this fight.

"That was nice of you to come and help Fletch," the archer said after catching their breath for a minute before grabbing their bow and jumping down to the street below. Fletch landed on their shoulder as they walked over to the bag that the middle man had dropped; picking it up before leaving the bloodied street.

"Well, we've got a few minutes, Grana. Start with some horsestance squats, build up more power in your legs" Yoje sqatted into a horsestance position twice to demonstrate. "Once you have enough power, I'll show you the motion itself." He turned to face the rest of the crew. "So a gang lord runs this island. Let's hope, he doesn't have a problem with us. Or vice versa."

Grana shrugged and began to do the squats, exactly like how Yoje showed him. "Hey, that's not too bad! I guess fishing really did help. Though I can tell this is gonna get painful by the triple digits." Grana heard Yoje speak to the rest of the crew, and grimaced inwardly. "No. Instead, let's hope that the Yarrakona family is a forgetful lot, or at least a forgiving one. That hope at least has a small chance of not letting you down." Annoyed by his own thoughts, Grana decided to ask the crew a question. "So, what do you guys think Peter is getting? Or better question, why do you think he wants us to stay on the boat? I still say he's afraid we'll manage to burn down the whole town the moment he looks away." Grana grinned at his own mental image.

Hal lit up a cigarette as he waited for his "clients" to show up in the alley that they agreed on as the meeting place. Though you'd never be able to tell behind his shades, Hal's eyes were constantly shifting and on the lookout for possible traps. Thankfully, the coast was clear thus far. Suddenly, he heard the voices of two people approaching and saw them round the corner into the alley. With a grin, he took a long drag and exhaled. "Oi! You two my buyers?" He called out cheerfully to the two, even though it was highly unlikely anyone else would be wandering down this particular alley.

The two well-dressed men, compared to Hal at least, were lower members of the Budero family. The nodded to Hal as they approached. "Yeah, that's us. And you're the fence eh?" One of them asked, eyeing Hal up.

"That's me! Hal Granada, at your service gentlemen!"

The other gang member spat before turning to his companion. "I don't like this guy, man. He seems real sketchy. I say we cancel the deal."

Hal immediately put his hands up, waving them enthusiastically. "Whoa there buddy! Don't be so hasty! At least let me show you the goods eh?" Hal reached behind him and pulled out a long slender item wrapped in cloth. Unraveling the cloth, he revealed underneath was a katana resting in it's shiny black sheath with the symbol of the Yarrakona family on it. "This here is the mystic blade Sengetsu, prized treasure of the Yarrakona family and a fine blade on it's own. Considering what it took for me to get this, I'd say the 200,000 beli is a steal for you guys." Hal unsheathed the sword a bit as he gave his spiel to show it's finely honed steel edge.

The first Bodero's eyes lit up when he saw the sword and immediately he gestured for his friend to give the briefcase he was holding to Hal. "That's it alright! The boss'll be ecstatic if I can bring him that sword. Give the man his money! It's more than worth it."

But as Hal reached out to take the case, a hand clapped down on his shoulder from behind him. He turned to see the angry face of the Yarrakona family member he had got the sword from. "I thought something was fishy when you showed me that the sword was a fake but bought it anyway for 1000. And here I find you selling it to our rivals as the real deal? You got a lotta guts, pal."

Hal's hopes at a successful uneventful scam were sunk. The Bodero members withheld the briefcase and reached for their guns quickly. "Did he say a fake?! I knew this bum was sketchy! Let's waste him!"

"Man, this couldn't have gone any worse..." Hal said with a sigh and shrugged nonchalantly. "But I'm not walking away from this empty handed. Nothing personal, but you're giving me that money." He continued as he lowered the sheathed sword to his left side and sunk into a crouching stance with his right hand on the hilt. Then he was gone. The man with the briefcase felt something odd and looked at the hand holding to briefcase only to find that the briefcase and the hand holding it were gone. He fell to the ground screaming in agony as blood gushed from the stump. His companion and the Yarrakona member could only look on in a mixture of horror and awe before hearing a voice behind them. "Ugh, what a mess... You guys really should've just given me the money."

They turned to see Hal standing there, sword still sheathed in one hand and the missing briefcase in the other. The remaining Bodero member raised his gun and fired immediately. "What kind of monster are you!?!?" But once again, Hal vanished from their sight. This time his voice came from the rooftops. "It's called.... Shave? I think? I don't care, I gotta get out of here. Better luck next time guys." Hal called down to them before giving them a tip of his hat and running off.

"That could've gone better. Well, in the end I got this nice sword and the money but I definitely gotta skip town now. Better get to my boat, pronto." Hal sped towards the docks and dropped down off the rooftops near them. He walked swiftly towards his boat but quickly had to duck behind a nearby crate when he saw a swarm of Yarrakona family goons digging through the boat. "Dammit... I had some good stuff on there! I'm so screwed now... How am I gonna get off of this island now?" Hal cursed under his breath as he scanned the docks for a way out of his mess. Any boat he could talk his way onto or stow away on would do.

Yoje shrugged. "What happened on Jingo was the governor's fault, not ours. And kidnapping him was Peter's idea. I think he just doesn't want to be considered a threat to the gang lord by showing up on the island with a full crew." He examined Grana's horsestance. "Looks good, Grana. As you get more tired, make sure you keep your back straight and your toes forward."

With Peter creating his own way down, there was no need to lower the gang plank yet. Sammi uncorked the bottle of rum and took a swig. Damn fine stuff. Course those jackass Marines were keeping it all to themselves. Greedy bastards. "What happened on Jingo was necessary. It got us a ship, didn't it? I dunno what Peter's trying to do here, probably just making sure he can actually get the stuff we need without another scene like at the Jingo docks. I mean, I don't want to be going through that again right off the bat."

Sammi leaned on the railing with the bottle. Grana's thrusts looked pretty silly. "Although I figured we'll be getting into town at some point." She reached down in the bag and pulled out the gun she had taken off one of the felled bounty hunters. "I gotta unload this somewhere."

Grana grunted. "Yeah. I think I need to pawn some treasure of my own, as well. Some of it is just too damn hot to keep. I wonder if I have a fence here in Lasklee..." As Grana's voice started to trail off, his thoughts began to pick up. "298...299...300... Son of a *****, this really does hurt now! It's all for the ability to walk on air, all for the Moonwalk. Yoje wouldn't screw with me- he's got too honest a face. But for a human to be able to possess such inhuman powers... Rokushiki might as well be classified as a Devil Fruit all its own!" Grana looked around as a slight sheen of sweat beaded up on his arms. He saw Sammi trying not to smile and grinned himself. "Oh, so I look funny to you? Hell, I'd be willing to do this all day to hear you laugh! I'm not even sure if you remember how to laugh! But don't worry, I'll fix that!" Grana laughed himself, a deep, booming belly laugh one would not expect from his figure. He threw himself at the squats with renewed vigor, now with a second goal to keep his mind off the pain.

Hal could do little but watch helplessly from behind his crate as the Yarrakona tore through his boat, leaving no stone unturned as they searched for any clues as to Hal's whereabouts. "Hey, easy with that stuff guys! I can claim it's worth a lot of money!" Hal growled under his breath, cursing his misfortune. After the Yarrakona had finished their search, they made their way back down the docks towards Hal's crate. Quickly using Shave, Hal sped the other way down the dock to buy himself some more time.

"Dammit, I gotta at least find a ship to get on until those thugs leave the docks!" Hal turned to the nearest ship and examined it carefully. It looked nice enough so the owners must've been somewhat wealthy to afford it. But it wasn't in the greatest condition so they might've been down on their luck recently. It was a tough call, but making money wasn't Hal's number one priority right now. The gang plank wasn't down, so Hal would have to see if anyone was on deck to let him on. He took a step back to get a better view and saw a woman leaning on the railing. "Now THERE'S a dame! Blond hair, blue eyes, just my type!" Hal said, letting out a low whistle.

Having made up his mind, Hal lit up another cigarette, put his game face on, and called out to Sammi. "Hey there, beautiful! Gotta minute? I got lots of good stuff for sale! And of course if you've got something you wanna sell off, I'm always looking to buy too." To show that he could more than afford anything they were looking to sell, Hal opened up the only slightly bloodstained briefcase so she could see the 200,000 beli inside.

Here's my sheet in case anyone was wondering who the hell this guy is.
Hero or Villain: Hero
Name: Hal Granada
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Appearance: In a word, sketchy. Hal usually wears a cheap black suit and tie that is often stained because he hardly bothers to wash it and a matching hat. He stands tall at about 6 feet and is fairly skinny since he has trouble scrounging up meals. He keeps his brown hair at medium length and slicked back and has a fair amount of scruff on his face. His blue eyes are rarely seen because he wears a pair of cheap sunglasses to keep from being recognized.
Background: Hal was born to a family of traveling merchants and has spent most of his life sailing the seas. His parents were honest merchants that often gave to charity and cut special deals for the needy at their own expense. And Hal hated them for it. He grew sick of watching others eat while he went hungry and argued constantly about it. When their ship was attacked by pirates and his parents put Hal on the only lifeboat, giving their lives for his, Hal mourned their deaths but embraced the change in his lifestyle that it brought. From that point on, he looked out for number one and used the skills he had learned from watching his parents do business to make as much profit as he could even if he had to scam people to do it. He went somewhat easy on poorer people, but he scammed pirates as much as he could which led to him almost dying on many occasions. He once made a deal with a Rokushiki user who taught him Shave as a form of payment so he could get out of ugly situations.

Personality: Hal is a pretty easy going guy with the kind of personality that most people can't help but like. Until they realize what they bought off him is actually a useless piece of junk that is. He's also the kind of combination of greedy and lazy where he can't help but risk all his money on get rich quick schemes.

Skills/Abilities: His most prominent skill is his silver tongue. Hal prides himself on being able to talk anybody into almost anything. That and his ability to appraise goods have made him a successful businessman. As far as combat goes, he's proficient at Shave but knows no other Rokushiki and mostly just uses that one to run away. If absolutely needed, he can use Shave and his sword to unleash a powerful battojutsu to cut most enemies down with a single blow.
Bounty: 60,000. Normally the marines wouldn't care about a lowlife conman like him but he sold them a batch of dud cannonballs that they still haven't forgiven him for.
Role on the crew: Merchant. Hal can get the ship the supplies it needs for cheap and sell any treasure or valuables they find for maximum profit.

Sammi raised an eyebrow at Grana's attempt to break her facade. "I dunno-" She got cut off by a call from below deck level.

"Hey there, beautiful! Gotta minute?"

This immediately set off her bullshit radar. After the running and the work getting the ship ready for sailing and the actual sailing, she was sure she wasn't anywhere near as beautiful as would warrant that call. Still it was nice. She turned around.

"Gotta minute? I got lots of good stuff for sale! And of course if you've got something you wanna sell off, I'm always looking to buy too."

Sammi's interest cooled almost immediately. Great a salesman. Awesome. And he looks like a mess too. Can't you bug someone else? I don't want your....shit ton of belli. Hmmmmmmm.

"Well, I haven't said no to massive amounts of cash yet." She dropped the gangplank down with an unseen motion of her hand, the ropes doing the work as the wood fell down onto the dock. "Why don't you come on up here and we'll see if we can't work something out for some of my belongings."

In the warehouse, Peter was discussing things with the foreman. "Are you sure you can't fix up the ship any faster? I don't want to stay here too long..."

"Ey, man, I'm putting the hardest workin' guys I got on it. Considering how much you payed, you must really need it fast, but we have other clients as well." The man shrugged.

Peter shrugged. "Fine. Guess we're staying here tonight. I expect you to follow those blueprints to the letter. Now then... " he got up and shook his hand, walking outside. He had made a couple stops before reaching the warehouse, now carrying an iron suitcase and had an envelope in his pocket. As he walked back, he heard several people talking among themselves, listening in on the rumors.

SCORE!!! Man, I'm good! And just in the nick of time too! Hal thought triumphantly as he glanced at the approaching Yarrakona and quickly ran up the gangplank. As he walked up to Sammi, he finished his cigarette and tossed the butt over the side. "Thanks for your time, miss. The name's Hal Granada, Merchant Extraordinaire. I didn't really bring many of my wares with me besides this sword, but if you're in the market for anything just say the word and I can get it for you. And as you saw, I've got plenty to buy with. So what'll it be?"

All the while, Hal glanced around at the other people on the deck that he could see out of his peripherals. Bit of a ragtag bunch after all. Looks like they'll be selling more than buying. Ah, well. At least I'll be safe here.... Probably.

Yoje watched the merchant enter the ship. There was something about the man that bugged him. "Grana, you can stop and stretch at 400. Good work so far. Hey!" Yoje shouted at the new guy and jogged over to him. "Hal, right? Not that more money isn't nice, but what kind of merchant goes to people's ships and offers to buy their wares?"

Jacque had been at the crow nest throughout the whole time since the captain had left the ship. He was supposedly keeping an eye out for the captain but he had quickly dose off until he ad heard some kind of a commotion below the deck. He quickly got down and saw the other crew members are facing toward a stranger.

He caught up with them as said "Hey what's going on and who are you twoo?"

Grana grinned, clenching his teeth to stop his body from shaking. "395...396...397...398...399...400!" Grana jumped up into the air on the last one, walking forward on his hands. "Man, that gets hard for the last 50!" Grana heard Yoje's question and grinned. "The smart one, that's who. Rule number one of being a merchant is to make it as easy as possible for the customer to spend money." Damien held his right arm out, balancing on his left, before springing up and turning to face their new visitor. "So, a merchant, eh? Where are your wares? I wouldn't mind seeing what you have in stock for swords and pistols. Do you do trades, if I can prove the object has some worth, or do you only deal in Beli?" Grana was trying to see if the salesman was a con-man or an honest merchant.

Hal grinned as some of the crew approached him. Looks like if everything worked out for Hal, he would be able to hide from the Yarrakona and recover from the hit his inventory took. He turned to the shorter one that addressed him first. "Yup, Hal's the name! And your buddy's right, convenience for the customer is important. On top of that, I can get more customers by coming to you than waiting for you to come to me and risk the chance that you might just go somewhere else. You get your convenience and I get a guaranteed sales pitch. Win-win, eh?" Then turned to the other one. "I prefer beli, but I can do trades too. You don't really have to prove any worth though, I've got quite an eye for quality. As for my wares.... Well, that's a bit of a problem at the moment. You see, that damned Yarrakona family wrecked my boat and I haven't had a chance to look through and see what's still in good enough condition to be sold..." Hal said, grin slowly turning to a frown. If he lost the deal here, it was no good. He had to keep them interested somehow and just the sword he had wouldn't be enough. Then, he had an idea that would probably work. "Ah, how about this? I'll buy your stuff now, and if you want to see what I've got left we can head to my boat and I'll show you what I can salvage."

Yeah... that oughta buy me enough time t- Oooh, fancy outfit there buddy. Not really feeling the mask, but whatever works for you. This is getting better and better. Hal thought as he saw one of the other crewmen come up from below. "Names Hal Granada, and I'm a merchant. Though, as I was telling your friends here I don't have much sell at the moment... Got this nice sword for sale! Quality craftsmanship and quite effective." Hale unsheathed the sword so everyone could see it's blade.

Jaqcue raise his eyebrow upon hearing that Hal is a merchant as there is a something charming to the way he speaks. He could do with a few more spending due to shopping time got cut short during the riot in Jingo Island even when Hal got a few things with him to sell. As Hal show his sparkling sword for sale he isn't impressed with the quality.

He utter "Meh I've seen better swords than that twoo."

Sammi was twirling the pistol she had pulled out around her finger as she went over her plan in her head. OK, so I got the guy on board, everyone else is distracting him. Should be easy, just stick the gun in his back, get the beli. Easy plan. I won't have to fire it or anything. It's a merchant, he's not going to be able to stop it.

But that could just attract unnecessary attention, even if he is on the run from the gangs on here. And if he says hes going to the Marines, I don't want to go through another hostage situation again, I don't have any more barrels for that. And really what's he done? He's not a Marine. He's not even a pirate. He's a guy who got screwed and is looking to rebuild. I...I dunno. Maybe I shouldn't.

Sammi took another swig from the bottle and stood up from the railing. She got a little bit closer to see what exactly the merchant had on him. Shoot, he's got that sword too. Might have to wait.

What the hell? I risk my ass for this sword and THAT'S all he's got to say about it? Screw you dude... As much as he wanted to, he couldn't say that unfortunately and instead chose to keep up his friendly salesman facade. "Ah, a discerning eye I see. Well, if you don't like it then that's that. But I will tell you that you won't find a finer sword anywhere on Lesklee. I guarantee it." Hal said, sheathing the sword again.

This wasn't getting him anywhere it seemed, so he decided to move on. "Well, if no one wants to buy from me, what say I buy from you eh? Can't be a merchant with no stock after all."
