A USAS-12 automatic shotgun. I would go with the AA-12, but the drum magazines seem to big to carry a lot of them. Plus, the USAS just looks cooler.

If we're talking fictional weapons, the Dark Energy Gravity Gun from Half Life 2. It'll be fast- but it won't be painless.

@Megalodon Obsidian is used in medical scalpels, because it has the potential to be ridiculously sharp. The whole blade doesn't have to be obsidian, just the edge.

Thus is the reason why ancient central american cultures such as the Atecs used them in the construction of their "swords". Essentially clubs lined with obsidian blades.

I was originally responding to the idea of "an obsidian katana", which would be an entire sword made of obsidian. Even an onsidian edged balde wouldn't be fantastic, the edge would break very quickly, this is why the Conquistadors' steel swords were better than the Aztec Macuahuitl. The properties that make a good medical scalpel are very different to those required of a combat weapon.

I said it was possible, not practical =P Obsidian-tipped arrows seem to be more useful.
