Made a bow with chopsticks and leather straps
crossbow with same materials and floral wires
and automatic rubber band gun.

the bow was probably the only semi-lethal weapon though...

During one of my exams, I got bored after I had finished, so I messed around with some paper clips I had in my pocket and they somehow ended up looking like the claws from Ninja Gaiden II.

I put a rubber band around my index finger and thumb and used it to fling paper wedges at people. I also shot the rubber band at someone when I ran out of paper. I know, I should be locked up, but people were to terrified to act agains me.

I once made a hairspray-powered potato cannon out of PVC pipe (also works well airsoft BB's and paintballs), I recently took the blade off of a brocken knife and made it a new handle, and you could probably assume the rest.

I built a potato cannon, hardly weaponry but it can really hurt if you get hit, just a couple of pipes stuck together than lighting deodorant in the combustion chamber to fire the potato

although, I'm told that if I sealed the other end it would make an effective pipe bomb

I made a scale cannon in woodshop to fire ping pong balls - we could clear the entire classroom when no one else could get even half way (simple tube, laggy band and piston design). Highly controlled and accurate too.

Made various "flame throwers" in scouts, anything from Aerosols and a lighter to a water pistol not filled with the liquid indicated on the instruction sheet and therefore invalidating the warranty - most awesomely.

Another scout invention was the spear - starting with whittled wood to just duct taping your swiss army knife to the end of a pole.

One made under tutorlidge of a scout leader was a bow and arrow but these proved to be most ineffective as the materials didn't posses the required strength to be able to fire anything at a dangerous much less deadly velocity.

And I've made a small quantity of thermite. Not sure if it's classed as a weapon but in the right circumstances I'm sure a compound stable enough for you to walk around in your pocket (or even jump up and down on) yet burns at around four and a half thousand Fahrenheit could be used in a weaponised form - oh, and did I mention there's a good chance you have everything you need to make it in your house right now )

I don't need weapons. When my foes strike, I will defelct their blows with my face.

I made a sling out of leather and paracord for throwing rocks or golf balls. Max range of 70 yards.

At work I have plenty of tools at my disposal for weapon making. Wich coincidentally is a hobby of mine. So far ive made a metal club from a 2 ft, wrist thick end of steel cable of wich I welded the ends shut and degreased the whole thing. Its stiff enough to use as a club but because its woven cable it still bends a tiny bit when swung, giving it extra force.

Ive also used our grinder alot for sharpening my blades and for making sharp edges on random metal plates. SOunds silly, but I once when a very nice looking 2 inch sabre by grinding and hammering a tiny metal stick. Ive lost it some time ago.

When I was younger I would take a wooden board, draw the outlines of a sword on it and have my dad saw it out with his sawing machine. Then id just smoothen the edges with a pocket knife and decorate it with duct tape. My dad was never concerned with it. he just jokingly called me swordmaster and supported my creavity.
This way I made a 3 ft buster sword, a great sword (so big I couldnt swing it more than once or twice.) and some generic looking ones. The buster sword was my favorite. I painted and laquered it and all. But I lost it when me and my friends had to run away from a landowner and his dogs when we were playing (vandalizing)in a forest.

This thread gives me so many ideas. Anyone else interested in making ballistic knives? I'm mostly into siege weaponry, bombs, (though I'm not stupid enough to make em) and melee weapons, mostly spears. But! ballistic knives are one of those ranged weapons that are so elegant it hurts me to think that they're illegal. In case anyone doesn't know, they are knives with springs or Co2 in the handle that can launch the blade up to 20 yards effectively. I hate not being able to tinker with an idea like that. Although, a sleeve arrow, the same concept but with arrows instead of blades, doesn't have the same kind of laws covering it, I nearly killed myself just fiddling with the concept, so I guess the regulations are justified, kinda. What's the worst accident anyone's had making a weapon?

Using the model rocket kits I did make a small warhead for one. Was surprisingly easy but surprisingly inaccurate.

I tried making a small crossbow out of stuff I found in my room. It never worked. :(
As a kid, id nail 2 planks in the shape of a T. Then a hammered a nail on each end of the T, letting them stick out a bit, and attached a laundry clip on the bottom. Then a fastened a rubber band between the nails and you had a light crossbow capable of firing small sticks and pens.

I made 6 boffers out of pool noodles, PVC, duct tape, and card board. My friends and I did parking lot battles for a while. The trick is to put a counterweight in the pommel or else your wrist gets tired quickly.

As for real weapons I made a throwing sling once, but couldn't figure out how to make it send a rock in the direction I intended.
