I made a lightning stick. It was supposed to be a degaussing-rod for my CRT TV, but it doesn't work too well for that. It does, however, short my house out if my computer is on when I plug it in and gets hot enough to feel from several feet away inside of 5 seconds.

Few weeks ago actually I made a Molotov cocktail while camping with a couple of my friends. Not an original but was fun to set off haha.

This thread has inspired me to make a dart crossbow (like in fallout3 but without the stupid)
Or a deoderant/hairspray/etc + lighter flamethrower (yknow, with a trigger and everything)
Thank you the escapist :^D

I'm really, really really trying to stay away from explosives and easily flammable things, considering my chain smoker background.

I'm actually writing this on a (now outdated) Alienware won in PC-Gamers "build a Warhammer" competition a few years ago... me and a friend co-engineered a 6-foot wooden monstrosity with a working grinder wheel on the front, a pop-out foamboard spike at the back and a slingshot mounted between two plastic blades on the top.

Sadly they kept it, so now I'll have to rely on my non-homemade katana, longbow and throwing knives for protection in the event of a zombie invasion.

I took apart a few M-88's in my garage, then put it on the tip of a cros bow that i made out of wood. the crossbow was something upward of a hundred pounds, and a blew up a bowling ball sized stone. good times, until i made a stick that explodes if yuo swing it.

A working trebuchet that could throw a fist-sized rock about 60 feet
How big (tall) was it? A friend of mine made a 10' tall trebuchet that launched a watermelon at least 150'. It was "supercharged" with garage door springs. Scared the hell out of me when it fired.
Damn that sounds awesome. The oone I made was only 3 feet tall though, because it was for a class project and I needed it to fit inside the school. I did "Supercharge" it too though with short bungie chords that helped it swing faster.

i made a crossbow in a woodwork class, it damaged the wall and i got detention, my teacher got in a lot of trouble and they destroyed it.

i always used to make lego catapults and what not to actualy shoot at my brothers lego, he hated me for it and refused to play

two of my freinds my brother and i used to fashion medieval weaponry from scraps of wood, then we used to beat each other half to death with them, i always used a sword and a shield and nearly always won (because i was a bit bigger than the others), but then we had to stop that game when one time one of my freinds got a bit too violent and knocked me clean out with a blow to the head

I cut down a tree with a heavy machete and carved it into a large club or maul. It was totally awesome. My favorite comment on it?

Guy: "Is that your telling stick?"
Me: "Huh?"
Guy: "You know, a stick you carry when you want to tell..." (Makes swinging motion) "somebody something really important!"

I made altair's hidden dagger. took a couple of days but it works real good.
Please, for the love of god, tell me how. If you have blueprints or instructions, that would be amazing.

I would kill with for this.

Now, in this time of terrorist threats and violence, who has gone out of their way to actually making themselves a weapon, be it a small knife you made yourself, or, as i did, you fashioned a fully working rail gun. OK, i did that for a science project but it is still a weapon and made it.
what did you make?
1. Did you make the railgun out of disposable cameras?

2. How many capacitors did you use?

3. How far does it launch the projectile?

I built one of those once, but it just put out too much power for the switch I had installed. It fired a total of three times before melting the switch. I also did a REALLY sloppy job on my soldering, so it looks like a five year old put it together.

I eventually gave up on trying to build another one because there are no second chances with that much amperage. There is no, "I may get shocked and be in pain," no, instead it's, "Oh shit I'm dead!"

My railgun ran at about 60 amps and 165 volts or so (if I did the math correctly). It only takes 0.1 milliamps across the heart to kill a person. Yeah... Too dangerous to pursue further.

That's generally not the best idea. I've personally witnessed those things blow up when the tank begins to get empty.

You should also know that petroleum based products (like gasoline and most lighter fluids) will dissolve the plastic in the water gun. This can cause leaks and explosions.

This guy did it right:

http://blog.800hightech.com/homemade-flamethrower-diy-tutorial-lesso/2095/

However, I would not recommend building something like this. It is not only VERY illegal, but it can get you blown up quite effectively.
