Hey escapists, I have been thinking about finding some good webcomics to read online and came here for some suggestions!
If you want to know what I am currently reading right now its:
Ava's Demon
Megatokyo
Life in Aggro
Heh, that's the first time somebodies asked for web-comic recommendations and ninja'd
Ava's Demon from me - let alone in the first post. Congratulations?
Thank you I guess?

Sorry if I ninja'd your post!
...you're welcome?
Seriously though, I'm pretty happy that other people are reading it. The writing can be hopelessly clumsy at time; but the art style is simply beautiful and the initial conflict between Ava and the Demon read like a metaphor for the struggles of some mental health problems. It was pretty touching, even if it hit a little close to home.
I only found Ava's demon recently, I adore it, the story is a little slow, but for it's beauty, it's a lot faster than many of the other really arty comic.
Also so far I've found whenever a webcomic really thinks about and uses how the comic appears on the page(with the book effect) it's been really good.
As for recommendations:
Unsounded [http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch01/ch01_16.html] Takes that border breaking idea to the next level though, it's not as consistently pretty as Ava's Demon, saving it for special pages, but the writing is really fantastic too. It's the only webcomic where I've actually wanted to own a physical copy
The Phoenix Requiem [http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/] is a beautiful completed webcomic, a Victorian romance/supernatural mystery, that kept me loving it all the way through
Freak Angels [http://www.freakangels.com/] is another completed webcomic that's done by a professional comic makers, a British after-the-apocalypse story like Day of the Triffids/The Kraken Wakes with very well written characters (if a bit rough and sweary for my sensitive soul =D)
Juathuur [http://gatecrash.juathuur.com/] is a personal favourite of mine. It's a fantasy webcomic, with pretty good art (at the end, it's rough at the start) but most of all everyone has their own motivation and acts on it, going through it the author managed to get me to sympathise with people I'd never have dreamed I could have pity for. Really strong protagonist too, very independent minded but that's both her strength and weakness, and recognised as such.
The Zombie Hunters [http://www.thezombiehunters.com/index.php] - Probably one of the best zombie comics I've read
Widdershins [http://www.widdershinscomic.com/] is a lot more light and less serious than the others, but it's charming and I can't get another of those victorian esque adventures
Snow by Night [http://www.snowbynight.com/]- An alternate world french-colonial thing with some magic and alchemy. I suspect it's going to be a romance story
Earthsong [http://earthsongsaga.com/] - Very similar to Juathuur in many ways.
Finally, I'll add my +1 to the Guilded Age too. It's a story about an adventuring group of
diplomats. I've never read a story that treated the world in the way they do, with progressing relationships and the people actually making a difference in a real and more meaningful way than 'defeat the bad lord' even when fighting breaks out, they're there training armies and dealing in politics. People who know they can't change the world but somehow manage to anyway and in a manner much less contrived than these stories normally go to make their heroes saviours.
