The movie Sky High comes to mind... The ability to turn into a purple Guinea Pig or the ability to glow... not exactly usual or useful powers. And the melting thing, while useful, isn't exactly the standard superpower. Although, it was that Alex Mac show on Nickelodeon way back when, so apparently people are hoping it'll catch on.

I cant remember the name of the show but its all based around some room thats nowhere and everywhere, and any door in the world could lead to this room at any time (albeit a very small chance) and if you took an item from the room it had strange and very unexpected powers in the real world, like a spoon that boils eggs and a bunch of other wierd crap.

While I can't think of anything weird in Anime, I'm going with my Own.
Wait. Eight Bit Theater. Black Mage's 'Special Ability'. Namely, if you get hit by a spell and live to tell the tale about it, you can cast that spell that tried to hit you. Useful you may think right? Wrong. When you get hit by Guys who can Alter the Very Nature of the Universe it doesn't work out for you.
Though in Real Life, there is no magic. So it's just useless.
