Weird gaming rituals

I put on a gas mask and masturbate while barking.

But seriously, the only 'weird' ritualistic thing about gaming for me is that I have to be sat in my 'gaming chair'. It's a really big, comfy thing and it's just more comfortable than sitting on top of my bed with my back arched because it's got no support.

I've never ever played multiplayer in a game until I've completed the campaign and some sort of tutorial level for it.

Not so much a ritual, but more a habit...

Whilst gaming (especially during WoW raids) I would chew my lips to the point that blood would run down my chin onto the table and I'd drop everything, run and go get a tissue.

Other than that there's the usual foul language and stuff.

I always clean up the area around my computer before buying a new game on steam.
When I play Garry's Mod, I always undo EVERYTHING on the map before starting a new project.
Before I play Fallout 3 or New Vegas, I close the door, turn down the lights, turn up the volume, and get my chair really close to the screen.
You know, for increased immersion or whatever.

I'm not sure I have any.

When it comes to adventure games though, my brother will spend hours playing the same area over andover until he gets a certain amount of stuff to level up or whatever.

Case in point, in Devil May Cry, he fought marionettes in the same place over and over for about a week until he got up to 10,000 red orbs. Then he was ready to continue. Granted, this was after the last boss killed him and he was prepped for a rematch. But that's some commitment.

I always wear my lucky rock.

Its just a small piece of green jasper on a string but all the good things that have happened to me while playing games have happened when I wear it.

It's not quite a ritual, but when I open a brand-new game after removing the wrapping, I have to smell it. No idea why, I just take a big ol' whiff of that new game smell.

Whenever I enter my gaming den, regardless of the time of day. I must turn on the light. Walk over to my couch. Set down all my food, clear the floor of objects, turn on the T.V. and my console. Go Back across the room. Turn off the light. Then go back for a third time sit and begin eating.

Nothing special, but years of always stubbing my toe on objects in the dark have taught me that I'd rather have the light on to check and move those out of the way. That way when I eventually have to make my way to the bathroom. I won't be tripped up by misc' objects on both trips.

NO, no, nothing that extreme :p

Okay, the reason behind this is so obscure I have to tell it, I guess....

This one guy I play Minecraft with keeps throwing jokes all the time.Good jokes + drinking = not good. Thanks to him I've had to clean my keyboard from juice 8 times.

Before I play any game, I must retire to my room and make sure there's a comfy pillow on my chair(it's one of those hard plastic chairs), I then return upstairs grab some pretzels and then finally turn on the console and if it's Fallout I turn up the volume from the usual 25 to 30 and then enjoy. :3

Whenever I buy any game, I must sit down and read the manual.
If it's a special edition, I must put everything back to where it is.
After around 1 hour of gaming, I will pause, get up, grab a can of soft drink and a bag of chips, and return.
When I get annoyed with something, I will start stripping off a piece of clothing until I'm in my boxers or I succeed, and put them all back on.
I also can't have someone other than a friend watching.

When I buy a new game I first have to bask in the glory of that new game smell and I also refuse to play it until I can take a good long shit and read the manual. I also have to be sitting no more than 5 feet away from my TV, if I'm more that 5 feet away I will slowing without even knowing I'm doing it move myself and what ever I'm sitting on closer to my TV until I'm within the 5 foot range.
