I had the same problem, just because I can talk to girls as freinds, somehow means i must be gayAverageJoe said:Everyone assumes I'm gay after a little while of knowing me... I mean really, almost everyone, if I start to build a friendship with someone after about a month I'll eventually get asked "So, are you gay?" or the more subtle one "so, do you have a boyfriend or anything?" unless I've mentioned something beforehand which cements my straightness.
It's a lot of little things apparently... Some of my interests, personality traits, music taste, some of my mannerisms, dress sense and the fact that I have more female friends than male friends. At least this is what people have told me; I admit I'm definitely not a guyish guy overall and I'm happy this way.
It doesn't bother me in the slightest, I'm completely confident with myself and my sexuality. Unless there's a woman I'm interested in who thinks I'm gay. Then it ain't so good.![]()
I won't go so far as to say I'm dumb, but people do assume I know more than I normally do because of my glasses. That, and I like to use big words. It's like a social experiment, if you use big words, people will assume that you're smart.War Penguin said:A lot of people think I'm smart. It's the glasses. Goddam stereotype.
... Yes, I'm admitting that I'm dumb.![]()
Second that. Also the fact that I'm Media-loving (watch a lot of TV Shows, Movies, play Video Games and listen to Music) I must waste my life away to all those things. Not true. I watch/listen/play all that stuff after school while doing homework/at dinner. Weekends I'll only do that if I'm really tired.Kiwibloke said:That I was going to slowly murder everyone in my school.
I lol'd.mrhappyface said:But the crowning one for me was when I was 9 years old. California water is butt-freezingly cold, so to not catch hypothermia, I had to always wear a wetsuit. One time, my leash from my body board wasn't secured so I fell off completely into the ice cold water. A diver however, was unfortunately nearby and called to his friend that an "otter" was nearby and to get the camera. The guy took the picture of me.
