When i say half asleep moment i mean that time where you are awake but you can still relate to your dream.

For example, some really weird moments i've had were:

My phone rings while i'm sleeping and i keep yelling "mom, shut up."

I wake up from a dream where a squirrel bit me and i shake my dog.

My brother walks into the room while i'm sleeping, and when i think he left i let out a huge fart, followed by clothes dropped at my feet.

I once dreamt by girlfriend trod on my virtual boy. According to her I growled like a dog in my sleep, woke up, glared at her, called her a "fucking stupid *****" and went back to sleep :S heh.

At school they have the most godawful fire alarms ever, probably rightly so because if I could stand the noise, I'd stay in my room. Anyways, the alarm goes on while I'm sleeping and my first thought, myself studying to be a recording engineer, was "Somebody get those mics away from each other, they're feeding back like crazy" It was simultaneously my weirdest sleepy thought and nerdiest moment in my life.

I was dreaming yet hearing things in the real world. I hear someone say "Whoa did you just see that car go by!?" so in my dream, I look out the window and see one of those really old cars with an old lady jogging past it.

Any time when I know I'm half asleep and try to jump while laying down.
I know it's gonna happen but I can't do anything to stop it.
doesn't help that there is a 2 foot gap between my bed and the ceiling... I can't remember the last time I half-sleep sat bolt-upright quickly.

I got another one. I woke up THIS MORNING from a dream in which my best friends flew to Asia without me (I have no idea why) and I actually thought they flew away. I had to confirm it by calling one of them.

A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend had just gone home and I went back to bed. As I was drifting off to sleep, I dreamed I was about to kiss her and then I saw the red dot of a laser pointer on her face. Then she looked to the side and screamed something about a tazer.

Then I felt a searing pain in my back and started pretty much convulsing on my bed and woke up flailing about the place. It seemed so real that I jumped out of bed to look for her after my body stopped shaking(it was dark, hard to see) and it took a few minutes before I was sure it was a dream, since the dream occured in the same place as where I was sleeping and in the same light levels and I for some reason assumed my girlfriend was still meant to be in bed with me.

Terrifying and I struggled to sleep afterwards.

I needed to get up early, so I set up my iPod with a stereo to blast death metal a few inches from my bed.
...Unfortunately, I'm a heavy sleeper.
When the music started, I stayed asleep, but still heard the music. In fact, I was even acknowledging the music; In my dream, I was at a concert very similar to this. Different music, but you get the idea.

I sometimes dream Im in a fight, and get woken up when I realise that Im thrashing around and throwing actual punches outside of the dream. This is particularly annoying when you are in a tent and collapse the tent because of your thrashing. Also I sometimes dream I have something (ie a toy train) and when I wake up, Im under the impression I still have. So I spend about 10 minutes the next day looking for this damn toy only to realise I've never bought it.

My best ideas occuer at half-sleep. I'm tired enough to not care if an idea seems dumb or make me feel self conscience, but awake enough to recored it.

Every now and then, just as I'm drifting to sleep I randomly feel like I'm falling. The thing is, I'm not falling and I'm still in my bed. It just feels as if my bed and the floor just disappeared. It's always a very "oh shit" moment.

I once had a dream that my feet were being chewed up by some kind of freaky scorpion-looking insects. Turns out I had my cat on my legs. Well, had, because I ended up launching him across the room with my foot.

I once woke up by kicking the wall next to my bed as hard as I could. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyways) that foot didn't fare well...

I have no idea what I was dreaming about, and it didn't hurt right away, so I fell asleep again.

Once I had a bedside table that went directly into the wall, my cat used to sit on it causing it to slant. One night i was half asleep and for some reason thought "omg my clock is falling" so i reached out (eyes still closed) and caught my clock. It was very very strange, but very cool.

I heard curlews calling and got up shouting about fire alarms, on a school camp in a cabin filled with 10 other blokes. That was kinda awkward at 4am.
