I used to have a recurring dream where I was underwater with no way to get to the surface. I held my breath until I realized, "this is a dream," whereupon I woke up to find that I was holding my breath in real life.

My friend said that i was asleep, but when he asked me for a couple pillows i sat straight up and handed them to him. He said thanks i said no problem. Then I asked if he wanted anything else; he kinda hesitated then said no. So i said alright, and went back to sleep. I dont remember ANY of it.

I once woke up by kicking the wall next to my bed as hard as I could. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyways) that foot didn't fare well...

I have no idea what I was dreaming about, and it didn't hurt right away, so I fell asleep again.
Ive done the same, but with punching. I ended up spraining my wrist by the time i hit it hard enough to wake me up. Sucked, plus i had to deal with people constantly asking what happened

Not really a half asleep thing but I lost my memory for about 2 minutes one time when I woke up in my parents bed. I was just taking a nap and I woke up at like 6 PM and I didn't know where the hell I was or even who I was. I kinda flipped shit but then it all came back to me...

I once woke up, slowly opening my eyes as usual.. Lying on my back looking up against the ceiling, when i saw that i had my right hand stretched vertically up towards the roof..
Looking at the arm i suddenly realized that i had no strength/power in it, thus the arm fell directly against my face, smacking me in the eye and making me see stars for a couple of seconds..

The next couple a minutes my arm lay half across my face, and i could not move it at all.. It was like i was paralyzed..

It was quite the shocker and WTF moment..

A few weeks ago, I was playing Red Orchestra all the time (I still play it a lot, but not as often as back then). I usually played on custom tank maps, so basically my "playing" amounted to spawning, getting in a tank, driving somewhere, firing about one or two shells, getting blown up, spawning, getting in a tank..... you get the picture. Note that in Red Orchestra, the Z key is the "action" key, so you have to press Z to get into a tank.

Now, I was dreaming one morning (the dream doesn't matter, can't recall it) when the phone suddenly rang. My thought process went something like this:
Goddammit -> Phone ringing -> Have to get up and pick up the damn phone -> press Z
A few seconds later I was lucid enough to realise what I was trying to do, laughed out loud and picked up the phone.

Also I sometimes dream I have something (ie a toy train) and when I wake up, Im under the impression I still have. So I spend about 10 minutes the next day looking for this damn toy only to realise I've never bought it.
YES. YES. I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THIS FEELS LIKE.
Yeah, me too. That's so annoying. It's not just toys either, sometimes you suddenly realise that someone you've known for ages was just a figment of your dream.

It's a long time ago, but I had this dream where I realized something really important, and I had to tell someone about it. I tried going to them in my dream, but woke up halfway.
While I was taking a shower, I was thinking that I really need to tell this to... to who? Wait, if I don't tell it to he... Who was I supposed to tell this to again? Wait... WHAT was I supposed to tell?

It bugged me the rest of the day. I never found out either.

Every now and then, just as I'm drifting to sleep I randomly feel like I'm falling. The thing is, I'm not falling and I'm still in my bed. It just feels as if my bed and the floor just disappeared. It's always a very "oh shit" moment.
I know how you feel. I throw out my arms and always manage to hit something...

When I was 13 or so, I used to dream I had this lovely girlfriend, only to wake up and be like: "Where is she? :(" looked around for some, only to realise it was this stupid re-occuring dream.
Nowadays, when I sleep with my girlfriend I find it hard to fall asleep, so after a while I get into this state of, being awake, whilst also dreaming. I don't remember what dream I had, but I do remember hitting her ceiling, after which she looked at me weird, and I said something like: "Don't mind me, you're dreaming" and then I went back to sleep. I remember hitting the ceiling, but not saying anything to her. I'm scared of sleeping ;(

I once was just waking up from a dream in which I realised I was actually speaking the conversation I was having in my dream, I guess thats not so weird, except I was speaking both sides of the conversation!

I woke up once when I was little and was convinced I could fly but could only do it when I did a specific motion so spent several weeks trying to fly.... I was very young.
I've had several dreams that I've woken up from thinking they were just things that happened the day before , and its taken far longer than it should to sink in that they were just a dream, including losing my virginity (with a friend, I'm just lucky I didn't decide to call her before I figured it out) and being able to hover a little and thus glide frictionless down slopes.

My most embarrassing ones though were a few times when things took a turn for the worse and I woke up screaming, on a few occasions dreaming of being electrocuted, for instance, and screaming like a little girl. Usually, and especially if I am not alone when it happens, this then leads into about an hour of hysterical giggling at myself.

When people talk something around me when I'm asleep, I often end up having entire real conversations in my dreams. Once when I was asleep at my parents' house, I heard my father talk about how he had never known that canned tuna came in such different flavours and sauces nowadays. After a few hours I woke up, walked to the kitchen, and still half asleep asked: "Dad, were you talking about curry tuna just now?"

I managed to weird out my parents even more than I usually do.

This happens to me but none of my friends and they all think i'm a bit crazy because of it.

I woke up with my ribs hurting after a dream in which I was shot in the chest by some guy who hijacked my school bus. I felt better after a glass of water, though.

You're talking to the wrong guy, I've had the weirdest ones ever.
I'd rather not talk about them though, they're too embarrassing for even the internet.
