Kitchen

Unlike the rest of the house, the kitchen was hell. Wooden tables and counters lined the black stone walls, a fireplace carved like the mouth of some great beast roared with a great blue fire casting the room in a dark blue glow.

Foul smelling stains covered the floor and walls, and in the center of the room, a creature in a apron and chefs hat was chopping up some dark green meat

It looked almost human, like the butler but it had stitches and patches attaching different parts of its body, in some places lossely which allowed a thick yellow liquid to seep out of the joints whenever it pulled back or moved.

Its bare arms where covered in the stitches and its obese stomach stretched the apron wide. Its face was human looking like the Butlers, twisted but also crush on the right side as if someone had started compressing it.

Bring the large, jagged edged cleaver down again, it looks up and notices you, its mouth forming into some sort of grin

"MMMMMmmmmm" it humms as it licks its lips with a bloated tounge

Do you:

A) Attack it

B) Talk to it

C) Run out of the room

Val managed to make it to the green house without being seen, but unfortunately lost him. She sees the chest, and the strange plants. She grew uneasy, first the voice, and now these strange plants? Where they dangerous? Was there someone in here? She grabbed a nearby spade and walked through the left passageway towards the chest.

Gregory has some difficulty in masking his fright as he takes it all in. However he finds the creatures manner of dress oddly comforting. Gregory clears his throat, about to speak.
"Er.. Hello there mate, how's things? I was hoping I could maybe get something to eat or a nice cup of tea?" Greg said in the most friendly and upbeat tone he can pull off given present conditions, trying to smile as best he can.
"The Prince, in the picture...'Jgshvs' I think, he said that there might be a spare key around here somewhere and that you might know where I can find it, he said I have his support too, don't know what that means. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Gregory, you can call me Greg if you like." Greg smiles, hoping this fearsome beast won't try and chop him up and use him for stew. He keeps the knife firmly in hand but still hidden from sight.

Finch jumped backwards. The black tentackle inched closer, slowly edging towards himself and Audrina. He grabbed her, and gently pulled her away from it.

"I got no intention of losing you so early into the game Audrey." he said, his dopey grin somewhat out of place in the situation.

Together, they walked slowly towards the creature. It was hissing, and it's form was similar to that of a snake, but there was no features. It bobbed lightly, seeming to watch them as they moved. It was as black as oil, and it reminded Finch of that one creature he saw in the Star Trek episode that one time.

Didn't someone die in that episode? he thought dreamily.

He lit up another cigarette, drew in deeply, arched his head and blew smoke rings in the air.

"Any chance of opening a library card?" he asked, the same dopey grin on his face.

The Kitchen

"U no how Jgshvs is?" The 'Chef' asked, what reminded of its forehead scrunching up as if thinking hard.

The Library

"YOU! You broke my door!" It hissed menacingly

"Why should I help? Why not just call the Snatchers now and end the game early?"

The statue quivered again as the tentacle slithered around them, although it kept its distance from the group

The Green House: Left

The vines from the red and black tree twist out and hold you down, but nothing more. You will be trapped here unless someone or something finds you. You can still call for help but you just can't move

Finchs ears perked up. This thing sounded pissed, probably not a good idea to get on its bad side.

"My bad. I didn't expect anyone to care really. This place is about as safe as a cow in a slaughterhouse."

A sly grin came across his face.

"Hey, maybe I'll fix your door if you shed some light onto this situation. Firstly, who the hell are the...Snatchers was it?"

Greg, relieved that the chef has temporarily ceased being potentially murderous lightens more and slows his speech to help the chef understand.

"Yes, I do, he's the Prince in the portrait just out in the hall. Nice fellow, although he did stab my friend and then drink her blood... Apart from that I can hardly say a word against him. He said I should talk to the chef. Are you the chef?". Greg gives him a big, friendly grin.

Greg gulped and hoped that that the chef would not get enraged for some reason. Greg didn't want to die in a kitchen, and he certaintly didn't want to get eaten.

"You are in no position to bargain human. Fix the door and we will talk business"

And with that the tentacle slithered back onto the statue and froze still

The Kitchen

The Chef burst out laughing, loud and insane laughter, slapping his knee continuously

"You dumb! You so dumb!"

Pointing over to the fireplace, the Chef started cutting again between a few small sniffles of laughter

"Over there, key on top of fireplace" He snickered

Val clenched the spade and stabbed it into a vine, she heard a hiss but the vine just tightened. Val kept slashing and stabbing with the garden tool, eventually the plant had loosened it's grip and she squirmed out of it's grasp, she ran to the chest, put it under her arm and hurried back the way she came, skirting around the still writhing vines. She burst out the door and breathed heavily from the excursion.

That was dumb dumb dumb, this had better be worth it. She still had no idea where she was or why she was there, but chests always contained something important. She knew that she was somewhere...else now. Somewhere with scary voices and killer plants. She still saw no sign of the man in the music room with the guitar. There have to be others, maybe they'll know what's going on. She turned her attention to the chest, she reached over her should into her slant back pack and fished around for the bobby pins. Val took a pin and carefully slid it into the small key whole. A few minutes passed of gently wiggling and pressure when she heard a soft click come from the lock. She opened the chest slowly...

Gregory was somewhat put off by the chef's laughter and crude insult and worried about venturing near the fireplace. He decided to ask what was so funny. Maybe he could keep it talking while he went for the key. He was thankful Rachael wasn't there. Greg quickly slipped the knife into his pocket.
"What's so funny?" Greg asked, trying to maintain his smile.

He started to move slowly towards the fireplace...

The Right Hallway

A screaming human face looked back at Val, its skin white, hair long and black and the eyes bloodshot. It emitted a high pitched scream, and lurched from the chest, biting deep into her arm like a vice grip. The head was attached to a long black scaled tentacle like a finger puppet.

Sorry, I'm not that merciful :p

The Kitchen

"His name not Jgshvs, he no prince"

The Chef snickered to Greg, fully concentrated on his meat cutting, tossing the cut pieces into a wooden, goo filled bucket

Greg, relieved that the creature was laughing at the Prince smiles widely. "Oh Really? Who is he then?"

Greg, being the massive chancer that he is then pipes up.

"Would there be any chance of me getting some food and something to drink, tea maybe, or water? I can give you something in return if you like. I've got whiskey and cigarettes".
Greg produces his silver metal hip flask and his pack of smokes from the inside of his jacket.

"I also have this silver knife that Jgshvs gave me. He said it might help against... Snatchers? He said they don't like silver."

Greg's brow furrowed, "What is a Snatcher anyway?"

ValScreamed in fear and pain. She slammed her arm against the wall, hitting the face againsts it over and over again. The face clenched tighter the first few slams but it's grip began to waver. She grabbed the chest lid and began to slam it down on the "neck". The face let go and writed in pain as she kept closing the lid. Caught in a frenzy she got up and stomped down on the face, until all movements ceased and it began to ooze a deep indigo liquid. To viscous to be blood. She collapsed against the wall again, clutching her arm. She rolled up her sleeves to inspect the bite. Luckily the two layers of clothing kept the teeth from going very deep, but it was still oozing blood slowly.
Only superficial, considering what I've been through in such a short amount of time I think it might be a good idea to save my first aid. After all it's only for small wounds, I thought i was just doing research for my thesis, not...well whatever I'm doing now. I probably won't need to disinfect either, considering any...drool would have gotten on my cardigan.

I was probably safer in the closet.

Poor Val, she has no idea what the fuck is going on. Also is there anything else I should have "seen" in the chest or where you just being a jerk?

Audrina had jumped as she tried to open the door, only relaxing when she realized it was just Finch and not a monster. As the statue came to life she felt herself starting to internally panic.
'I got no intention of losing you so early into the game Audrey', that still meant when it came down to it she could still be pushed under the bus. She kept her thoughts to herself though, she needed his help whether she'd like to admit it or not. Her thoughts were broken and she had felt her heart speed up as the tentacle statue started to talk. 'At least it hasn't killed us yet...' she thought, trying her best to keep positive. "I...I don't think we should make it angry, perhaps we should go to the greenhouse instead? I'm useless with a hammer." she offered, her voice still shaking slightly with fear. "Or maybe we can find the key real fast and get the hell outta dodge?" She her eyes already scanning the room.

Nope, that was a 'Chest Guardian', can't let you have the key for free :D

The Kitchen

"He'z the one in chagae of everyting" The chef chuckled, as he ripped a piece of bone out of the meat Greg.

"He brought ya all here, he runs da Snatchers"

He reached into the goo bucket and pulled out a big steak of the green meat, tossing it on the table close to

"I'vf been tol it tastez jus like chicken"

The Chef burst out laughing again

Right Hallway

The monsterous face twitches then turns to Val, and spits out a golden key before sliding into the chest, which in turn sank into the floor, leaving the Hall empty except for herself, the closet and the Music Room.

I'd put GreatCoolEnergy in there but I think he'd be somewhere in between the Green House and the Hall. If you read this, GCE, you can fit yourself wherever you wish

The Library

Suddenly, the tentacle twisted around violently straight towards Audrina stopping inches from her face
"Key?! I am the Key you fool!" it hissed violently

Greg looked at the Chef for a moment, somewhat surprised, and then laughs. "Him? He brought us here? You must be joshing". His curiosity got the better of him. "What's a Snatcher?"

Greg then goes over and plucks the key from atop the fireplace, placing it in an inside pocket. "Thanks" he says.

Greg turns to the lump of meat. "I hope it's not poisonous" he thinks to himself.

"Chicken? Mmmmm. I do love chicken." Greg takes the slab of meat from the table and takes a big, manly bite.
He tries desperately not to change his expression but the stuff tastes rank. He dare not spit it out however and maintains some of his composure.

"Mmmm, tasty, what kind of meat is it?". Greg wanders over to a tap and turns the handle. Some water starts to spill out in gushes, occasionally a bit dirty but seeming at least drinkable. He takes a long, long draught of water, relishing having some cool hydrating liquid in his mouth.

Greg then takes the silver knife and cuts off some of the meat. "Got any bread?" he asks the fearsome chef. "Oh, here, have a taste of this" Greg opens the hip flask, takes a draught from it and offers it to the chef.

"Sorry, I didn't get your name?"

Jason didn't like the look of this green house. He had no idea if man eating plants could exist, but in this place he didn't doubt it. He decided to head straight for the chest, see what was inside.
