Because our washing machine is broken at the moment, we go to a local laundromat for all our clothes cleaning needs... However, this ONE time I may or may not have accidentally left my leather wallet (complete with two credit cards, £100 in cash and god knows how much in coins) in the back pocket of my jeans.

Now the worst part is that I actually told my mum all my clothes were empty before we took it because I didn't think I was actually that stupid I would leave my wallet in my jeans.

So for discussion value, have you ever done anything like this? Or what's the most insanely idiotic thing you've ever done?
I've done literally the same thing. Don't worry, you won't lose anything. Money dries out and plastic well... it's plastic.

Ugh, too many horror stories. I've lost about four watches to the washing machine. The last watch had accidentally slipped off my wrist into the wash and I hadn't noticed until I was pulling the clothes out to dry. I've left pens in shirts on several occasions. Thankfully, most of my clothes are black and I don't give a shit if I got funny ink blots on my underwear. I've washed more than my fair share of money. Biggest shock came from a pair of jeans I hadn't worn in a few months, didn't think much of them, and when I took them out of the dryer, I found I had stashed nearly 200 dollars in the front pocket. I think what's funny is that I didn't even miss the money at the time, but by the time I had washed the jeans, I actually DID need the money.

I've lost important documents, phone numbers, and various other things. Pisses me off to no end because I swear I search through the pockets of everything several times over and accidents STILL happen. Oh well, at least I don't lose socks.

My phone survived once, my bus passes have failed many a time. I think I lost a couple timetables, too.

When I was 8 I pushed over half a wall in my garden (it was cracked), thinking I could push it back up again...
Yeah, Mum yelled at me...

Eh, that tends to happen from time to time. We've all made our mistakes with washing machines. Mine being: Washing my brother's Breath of Fire 2 GBA cartridge by accident 8 years back (Still won't lend me his stuff), breaking the washing machine by putting everything I had that needed to be washed in there five years back, and most recently prying the door open to get my phone out without turning it off first, flooding the laundry room.

As long as no one of questionable morals goes through your laundry you shouldn't have any losses. Without that the money should survive as most of it is a poly-cotton fiber blend, credit cards should be fine. I just recently laundered my wallet in the apartment building laundromat and everything came out just fine including the picture of my sister that I keep in my wallet. Hell a few years back I laundered a cheap keychain digital camera and it worked fine until I lost it...

Nope. Never lost anything to the washing machine. Come to think of it, never lost anything particularly important to my forgetfulness/stupidity.
Maybe I'm just a bad person.

I never wash my clothes, so there is no danger of this happening. No. I've managed to wash my passport before, but it came out unscathed. Smelled great for months afterwards, though.

Haven't washed anything except clotles and the key to the mailbox, but if it's just really stupid things we've done well, I once tried to bunnyhop up a flight of stairs on a unicycle so I can't say I'm less stupid than people who wash their wallets.
