Really? I thought this [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/bigrigsovertheroadracing?q=] was the worst of all time. I mean, hell, Aquaman got a 27% score. This got an 8!
YOU'RE WINNER!

Windwaker (I prefer this one over Twilight Princess)
Custom Robo

Super Monkey Ball
Alien Hominid
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Resident Evil (Remakes)
Luigi's Mansion
Resident Evil 4 (If you haven't played it.)

Enjoy. Play them all.

Star Wars Rouge Squadron 2: Rouge Leader. Seriously one of the best SW games ever made. God I'm a dork. :D
first game i got when i bought my cube and it was awesome :p

also i think it depends on what you'll be using it for. i think the most fun i've ever had is just playing the cube with 3 friends over (became a fridaynightly routine). on the rotation:
smash bros
timesplitters 2
super monkey ball 2 (god they murdered this franchise... makes me cry... on the inside)
mario kart double dash (really underated, we had hours and hours of great times with this one)

for single player can't go past windwaker and re4, two of my favourite games of all time

however i have to beg to differ about f-zero gx, 64 version was incredible and i don't think gx it lived up to in the slightest, yes it was still fun and i played it a fair bit but in the long run it just didn't last in terms of replayability or casual multiplayer

to clarify casual multiplayer which i think is really important for just fun with friends, means anyone can pick it up and have a legit chance of winning, yes the guy with uber skills will still win 9/10 times but it makes that 1 time so much better for the unexperienced player. this leads to good times in my book, although i wouldnt want it in a game like l4d when its: if you suck gtfo

If you like JRPGs I'm sure many people will say this, you should play Tales of Symphonia. Also Viewtiful Joe if you like a difficult game.Play Pikmin 1 or 2. 2 is a good amount better though. Luigi's Mansion is definitely worth your time, amazing game in my opinion. I can't think of anything more right now, enjoy yourself though.

Where did you get the Gamecube, if I might ask?

Anyway, I recommend Timesplitters Future Perfect. Best damn fun I've had with split screen multiplayer in ages.

No silly, the worst game ever made is Cheetah Man 2.

The Pokémon games on it, Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness were prettty good.

I'd hate to ask this, but why didn't you get a Wii? Its fully backwards-compatible and not that much more expensive. I'd return the gamecube and get myself a Wii if I were you.

In either case, make sure to pick up Smash Bros. Melee and Wind Waker. Sorry if I sounded rude.
That was the first thing I was thinking when I entered the thread. The only reason I can think of is that I find it really annoying to select everything with the Wiimote, but hey, some people like it.

Anyway back on topic, Metroid Prime is one of the best games in the world, you have to throw that in the 'must play' pile.

Wind Wwaker, Melee, but you know that already. Mario Kart double Dash is alright, doesn't beat the Wii version but still. The Mario parties as well.
I agree with you on Mario Kart Wii. You know whats really sad though? Mario Kart 64 is even better.

Alternatively you could play it online for free, considering it was a freeware flash game first.

I just ordered myself a Gamecube. After never having one, and getting more and more into older games I decided "why not?".

Looks kind of fun, some nice games out for it, I'll be on the lookout for Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, Burnout 2, Super Smash Bro's, F - Zero GX and it comes with Tony Hawks Underground.

Any other suggestions?

Also, have you purchased a last gen console recently?
No shame in that. I paid $40 for a gamecube, just so i could play Starfox adventures and both the metroid primes.

Yeah, I've been playing old games too. Ok, for recomendations, I have two:

1) Harry Potter and the Sorcers Stone- Its a movie game yes, but its fun exploring and its a great challenge. I think quite highly of this game.

2) Robotech Battlecry- This is a lengthy game that is also a very rewarding challenge. The mechanics of it leave something to be desired but the rewarding experience of final winning a mission overcomes that.

Your first order of business should be to pick up all of the Nintendo developed games of that generation (Zelda, Metroid, Mario, etc). My favorite Gamecube game was Killer 7, but that's hard to recommend. This: http://www.metacritic.com/games/gamecube/ is a pretty good starting point.

Yes, but then you miss out on Co-Op, hats, mini-games, and the option to turn the gore into flowers. I think it is worth about $10.
I didn't know about the co-op. Touche.

*EDIT* That would be fucking AWESOME with friendly fire.
