Expected: Greatest fantasy movie ever based on the greatest fantasy trilogy of novels ever.
Got: Schlocky acting and flashy CGI with a fistful of fail. I think I cried.
Star Trek (2009 movie)
Expected: Bad movie with too much lens flare.
Got: Passable movie with too much lens flare.
Borderlands
Expected: An RPG with FPS combat.
Got: An FPS with RPGish levelling, a vapid story, paper-thin NPCs, and a wacky difficulty curve (anything below your level is chow and anything above your level will grind you into the sand).
Gladiator
Expected (me): Juvenile violence.
Expected (mom): I really don't freakin' know.
Got: Two tickets to an R rated movie at age 13, a history lesson from Hollywood, epic battle scene, long-lasting obsession with Classical culture/society, borderline Oscar-worthy performance from Russell Crowe, tears out of mom by the end.
South Park movie
Expected (me and two friends): Our ticket into the cool crowd.
Expected (mom): A kid's cartoon to occupy us while she went shopping or something.
Got: Two tickets to an R rated movie, a bunch of not-very funny jokes, and an ass kicking after an old dude at lunch at the table next to us told mom what the movie was about.

Expected a discrace to the Banjo Series.
What I got: An allright game, with beautiful Visuals.

Expected on of the best Sport games ever
What I got: Excatly that.

Expected a hospital romance series.
What I got: On of the greatest and the most hilarious (and sometimes touching) Series I have ever seen.

What I expected: A pretty decent game that could either be just as good as FF7 or barely miss the mark in some way. And a villain that was more awesome than Sephiroth.
What I got: An amazing game that has a better story than FF7, but the speed at which it moves makes it harder to follow. And I thought Kefka was just as awesome as Sephiroth, but in a different way.

What I got: A deep, lengthy, replayable and thrilling space quest. Great story and characters. One of the best games I have played.

If you didn't know why you were going where you were going and obeying Atlas, you missed the entire point of the story twist.
yeah I didn't get a chance to watch that in theaters, but watched that on megavideo. In case you don't know megavideos a site that actually has some good quality video but only lets you watch in 75 min. chunks then makes you wait half an hour.
