Totally. All that energy wasted on clicking could, instead, be used for blinking or something.
OT: i only rarely go there, only when someone links it and im curious to know what some term might mean, but it hasn't become addictive or anything.

About four hours I'd say.

Maybe there's something interesting about seeing the world as a collection of archetypes, stereotypes and common plot devices. Maybe it's just the place where the internet really works like a 3d book.

I don't know why it's so hard to close my browser on tvtropes, but I do know that is always another link you will want to click.

I also suspect people not into popular media will have a degree of immunity.

It's a delightful little wiki with the purpose of mapping out all tropes and archetypes used in popular media. It has a very casual, Escapist-like community and is a good way to learn about new shows, films, anime, comics, books, music, or video games that may interest you. I suggest you check it out.

If your entry cannot gather any evidence by the Wiki Magic, it will just wither and die. Until then, though, it will be available through the Main Tropes Index. We encourage breezy language and original thought (and won't object to the occasional snarky comment, either).

I occasionally manage to tear myself away by refusing to click any links, but that works maybe 10% of the time, if not, less.
I only got off of it now because I saw the time, and am about to go to bed.
