I hate human beings, so I would much rather pay for the dog to be awesome.
Oh let me guess.
You're either one of those rediculous hippies that think we are a cancer to the planet.
Maybe you're one of those people who hate everyone just because of a handful of people whom were bad to you personally?
Or perhaps you're one of those guys whom is trying to be their own individual and act all cool and edgy.

Either way, you're either ignorant and blind or a hater for the sake of being a hater.

People like you don't sit well with me, I look back on all humanity has accomplished and then I get people like you insulting humanity or hating humanity.

You are blind to deny our glory.

We have gone from simple nomadic hunters to the most powerful race on the planet and even have a presence in our orbit now.

We have learned how to farm the land, we know how to change it for the better, we have developed a global community via the internet, we can cross the entire globe in mere hours, we have gotten to the bottom of the ocean and up to our moon and are even going to mars, we have developed our own habitats that we do not need to adapt to anymore, we can bring a person back to life after being dead for a few minutes, we can keep a person alive who should have died years ago, we know everything that makes up our bodies, we have developed a means to attack and defend ourselves with that is far greater then even the most adapted organism can do, we can draw power from the atom itself!

You are ignorant to deny our ability to love and care.

Humanity is vastly superior in this regard.

No other organism has the ability to love and to care that we do.

No other organism fights for what they think is right.

No other oganism has the ability to bond with ourselves and socialise that we hold.

No other organism has our ability to look past violence and seek solutions through words and peace.

Go out and experience the wonders of your race, hopefully your ignorance will be washed away in the process.
I like dogs. What's happening to those people is terrible, but they could help themselves, or their government could. Like a lazy roommate, some people can only be helped for so long before they are given up on. Helping someone with a permenat disability would make me feel much better then feeding someone ill never know for a week before they die of disease, malnurishment, worms, or gunshot wound. Plus that aid food gets hijacked and stolen often. Those people are not worth it. Sever the finger to save the hand.

I think this is biased but ill just keep quiet.
OK I would give my money to the seeing eye foundation because
1. Im a dick
2. If the world ended and it killed 75% of the world population I would be fine with that being the fact that the majority of us are bigger douchebags than I am.
3. I would have more pity for a blind man than a starving child because the child can just live on welfare. And if the child lives in Africa, well, there are enough animals to live on in there.
4. Dogs are awesome.

I don't donate to charities because they don't give all the money to what you're donating for. They all take out a certain percentage of your donations, and most of the owners of these organizations are ridiculously rich. No thanks, I don't want to go through a charity.

this is similar to what me and my friend talked about awhile ago.

you see when you buy civs 5 and install it for the first time it gives you the option of 3 diffrent charities to give to. but no matter what one you choose, it meens you are depriving the others of possible help.

OT: yes humans are horrible people who get sad at the sight of a dog in pain, but dont care much about the humans in need. of coarse there are exeptions.

Is it just me, or has it become a trend to revive threads that a months, if not, years old?

OT: People feel obligated to help in different things. It's just how we work. That doesn't make us bad people. Besides, I get tired of seeing those adds saying "$100 can feed 10 children for a month!" I always just think "What happens after that month?"

The only way to fix world hunger is to fix the countries, not feeding individuals for a small amount of time. Eventually you could train them to grow their own food and give them an economy, but the whole feeding small groups of children seems to me like it's only prolonging the inevitable...

Because some people who donate to a specific charity choose to do so because they personally know someone that could benefit from such a charity.

If a 55 year old father loses his vision, and his only daughter decides to move in with him to help him adjust to this entirely new and unfamiliar life, the daughter would have a new and much more personal understanding of the hardships of living with such a disability, and therefore would be more likely to donate to a charity that helps train seeing eye dogs than anything else.
