While I'm not effected by Mr Dunns death, not a Jackass Fan, it's sad he died so young true, but not weeping over it. That said, this is in BAD TASTE by the WBC and let me say I agree with thtose saying this could end badly, but I feel it'll end even worse for them at a soldier funeral.Put it this way, putting "DEAD SOLDIERS ARE FAGS!" on a sign, holding it up at a soldiers funeral, may end with angry squad member of said dead soldier who they may have saved their life or done something majorly heroic will end in the angry squad member taking a high powered rifle and wiping these guys off the map, or atleast a few of them.

Lets just hope these idiots see the error of their way, shut up and f**k off.

I didn't really like "Jackass" but picketing anyone's funeral, who isn't somebody completely evil (see:hitler) is just upsetting.

I DO NOT APPROVE, WBC!
This x a thousand.

I've said this a million times before and I will say it again - why hasn't the WBC been arrested and disbanded?

They don't really need a reason because haters gonna hate.

I'm very unsurprised, the Westboro Baptist Church is batshit and will forever remain so until they're all crushed under their own constantly growing pile of ignorance and general bullshit. I don't know, they're already outrageous and have pissed me off/frightened me/make me uncomfortabe so many times already all I can do is sigh.
Indeed, I've gone past the point of hatred to just not giving a damn about them. This news doesn't surprise me one bit though I am curious what they would actually protest about. I know they will think of something being the attention whores they are but I can't think of anything but obviously they are the expert in bullshit so we'll see.

Also nice pic :)
Oh, thank you! :D I cropped one of my drawings because I was bored with my old icon. :p

EDIT: Oh wait, maybe you meant my photo. o:
I need to change that, I've cut my hair >_> Thanks for the reminder. :p

Ok, this is just getting out of hand now. The supreme court needs to revoke their decision and send these WBC assholes straight to the prison with the highest amount of inmate rape.
i think that if they do that we'll have to compensate the inmates and give them the congretional medal of honour for services above and beyond the call of duty as well as the purple heart.
So... protesting soldiers' funerals, not out of hand. Protesting the funeral of a guy who stuck a toy car up his ass is over the line?

Zuh?

Anywho, I'm wondering over 1 thing.
Now, the free speech thing? Yeah, it doesn't stretch over everything, for instance, things that are considered too vulgar, pornographic or has the intend of hurting other people does not get the protection of Free speech.
So, are you asking if the WBC is protected by the First Amendment? Because if so, the answer is yes. The U.S. Supreme Court decided a case fairly recently in which they stated that the WBC has a First Amendment right to protest. And, yes, the court made the right decision. You can't decide that speech isn't protected just because you don't like what is being said. Think of it this way, the fact that they can do this means you and I have a lot more freedom, too.

Long story short. Is this legal? Yes. Are they dicks? Very much so. Am I happy that they can do this? Yes and no.

I read somewhere that he only had like four beers and a few "girly" drinks over the course of four hours and for a man that size I'd reckon it would take alot more to consider him drunk. Anyways I'm not surprised at all that the WBC is protesting his funeral because they are batshit crazy and find it necessary to protest anyone's funeral who doesn't meet their criteria for a perfect person, especially those people who are famous or soldiers. They are the scum of the earth and I hope the Jackass crew has a nice welcome planned for them.

As far as I'm concerned the WBC can go fuck itself and all they believe in because all they are concerned with is spouting hate in a world that already has too much of it to begin with. Also I watched a documentary on them called "America's Most Hated Family" or something along those lines and their children they take to protests with them don't even know what the signs they are holding up even stand for. So not only are they spreading hate, unnecessarily, but they are making sure it passes to the next generation that will be as close-minded as their parents are. It truly is despicable and I only wish I could see the look on their faces when they die and end up in hell for all this nonsense that they're spouting constantly.
Okay this needs to stop. He had twice the legal b.a.c. okay? He was going over 130 m.p.h. I understand that we need to show respect for the deceased but we don't need to defend them.

The empty death threats (and they are empty) against the WBC also need to stop because that actually makes you worse than them. An' wow, just wow that's tough to do.

Also it's kind of weird for you to condemn the WBC for their judgemental and inappropriate protests (and I agree they ARE inappropriate and insulting) while you are also being judgemental and wishing you could see the agony on another human beings face when they die. Seriously who talks like that? Oh. Right. The WBC. Um, and you.

This is something I actually posted in a comments section for a biography that a documentarian from the BBC did.

These people are a bit of a conundrum aren't they? They preach that others shouldn't "worship" the dead, yet they celebrate the death of other people. They preach that "God Hates" everyone but LOVES the members of this church. They say that they "don't do violence to other people" yet they verbally and emotionally abuse countless people on a global scale everyday (including those who are already devastated by the loss of a family member or friend). They preach that they are doing people a "courtesy" when they are anything but courteous. (Heck, the so called pastor of this cult wouldn't even give a curious onlooker the time of day because he felt the documentarian was "stupid".)

The elders of this "church" brainwash the children into thinking that they will not amount to anything other than serving this "vengeful" omnipotent being whose only evidence of existence is a 2000+ year-old story (or Epic if you will) that has been translated over countless languages. (The story of Gilgahmesh anyone?) I don't judge people who enjoy reading the Bible, but I find it a bit unnerving if random believers were to wave vulgar picket signs and shout to my face (or behind my back) that I deserve eternal pain and suffering because I follow a different lifestyle and religion.

They also seem to both honor and abuse the 1st Amendment of the Constitution, which states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

I'm not going to make any judgements on what they so "forcefully" believe in, but I think they need to go back and read what the Bible actually preaches. Christianity is supposed to be the belief and practice of peace, stewardship, and civility. What these people preach seems to be the complete opposite: Fear this omnipotent force or suffer eternal damnation for being who you are.

These people are a very arrogant bunch that chooses to blindly follow a false prophet whose only goal in life is to spread his hatred and ignorance to other people who view religion and their world differently. I seriously think that it would be in their best interest to skip this especially since they have no business with these people, and they are already the Most Hated Family in America. I'm surprised that someone hasn't sent a Hitman out for them.

I agree. When given freedom of speech, you have to accept that some people will use it to say things you don't like, it's the whole "I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it" thing. It's tasteless, but people don't have the right to not be offended.

That said, I don't agree with WBC at all, I just acknowledge that they're allowed to do what they do. Considering how much they lap up drama, the best thing to do is just ignore them. This is a group with a SERIOUS persecution fetish, being hated and assaulted at these events is what they use to justify themselves. If you want to actually do damage you should take that away from them.

That's all old-testament stuff you're referring to, for the most part. To my knowledge, the old testament is only a part of the bible to provide context for the New Testament, which is what Christians are actually supposed to follow.
Luke 19:27. "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence." - Jesus

Jesus was Jewish. Everything he believed in was based on the Old Testament. If Christians aren't actually supposed to pay attention to the Old Testament, then it would have been left out of the Bible (and many, many books were left out).

Good, maybe the jackass crowd and the WBC crowd will get themselves arrested and killed.

/no sympathy for a man who killed himself and someone else by driving drunk, famous or not.
//Ebert has it right on this one.
Hey, he was a good dude and certainly his friends and family deserve the sympathy. Besides, it wasn't ever confirmed he was drunk. Only thing investigators confirmed was that he was speeding near 120-130mph, but toxicology hasn't confirmed he was drunk. Before passing harsh judgement, please fact check. Anyone who dies young and in a horrible fiery crash gets my sympathies.

OT: what on earth did Dunn do to piss of the WBBC? I really hope they get kicked out or arrested this time. In general, those loons are horribly disrespectful, especially to soldiers, and this time is especially crazy because... well, its Ryan Dunn? Guy wasn't exactly a satanist.
It has been fact checked. Several different news agencies have confirmed his b.a.c. was twice the legal limit. Sorry, but the man was travelling at ridiculous and dangerous speeds while being ferschnickered.

Ya know, normally I find the WBC beyond distasteful. However, in this case the irony makes me chuckle. Both groups are a bunch of attention starved jagoffs desperate to make an ass of themselves in an attempt to stretch out their fifteen minutes just a few seconds longer. They just have different ways of going about it. They deserve each other.

We really should tell the WBC that while we may be evil, at least we're not stupid.

I'm from PA as well. Erie, to be more precise.
