I'm just waiting for the day the main WBC preacher is going to come out and thank everyone for bearing with his massive longtime artistic movement and deliver his hopes that he managed to get everyone thinking on the subjects of religion and free speech (then get promptly arrested for tax evasion).

Also, I read this headline as 'Three or four meaningless people to wave signs around funeral of mostly meaningles person, public at large to care for some reason'.

They're just getting desperate now. Maybe they'll collapse under their own weight soon and the rest of us can be safe from being mistaken for them at last?

I read somewhere that he only had like four beers and a few "girly" drinks over the course of four hours and for a man that size I'd reckon it would take alot more to consider him drunk. Anyways I'm not surprised at all that the WBC is protesting his funeral because they are batshit crazy and find it necessary to protest anyone's funeral who doesn't meet their criteria for a perfect person, especially those people who are famous or soldiers. They are the scum of the earth and I hope the Jackass crew has a nice welcome planned for them.

As far as I'm concerned the WBC can go fuck itself and all they believe in because all they are concerned with is spouting hate in a world that already has too much of it to begin with. Also I watched a documentary on them called "America's Most Hated Family" or something along those lines and their children they take to protests with them don't even know what the signs they are holding up even stand for. So not only are they spreading hate, unnecessarily, but they are making sure it passes to the next generation that will be as close-minded as their parents are. It truly is despicable and I only wish I could see the look on their faces when they die and end up in hell for all this nonsense that they're spouting constantly.

As an atheist this is what I fucking hate about religious fundamentalists. These maniplulating maniacs who take one small part of their scripture or religions history and make it all about that. The people who are picketing Ryan Dunns funeral are forgetting that 1. God loves everyone equally no matter what they do. 2. Treat thy neighbour as you would like to be treated as in respect others and you yourself will be respected. 3. he's a filth monger is he? well jesus hung around with a prostitue does that make him a bad guy? 4. Jesus didn't treat that prostitue like shit so why do you have the right to do this to Ryan Dunn? 6. He who is without sin cast the first stone.
Actually no. Every atheist (and every Christian... actually everybody) should give the Bible a thorough read. What the WBC spouts at people is not a "small part of their scripture." It's a really big part. Even though what they do is mean spirited, wrong, and demented, it's not that insane that they'd come to that conclusion given the source material. All the "love thy neighbor and be a good person" stuff is far in the minority of parables in the good book. Most of it is about killing people - people that don't agree with you, innocent bystanders, and babies.

I don't understand how people can be surprised that religious fundamentalists kill in the name of God, considering the entire faith of Jews, Christians, and Muslims revolves around killing in the name of God. Anyways, the Jackass people got deep pockets. They can afford to cause a public nuisance, since they've been doing it for years. Oh, I hope they bring cameras.

Blood alcohol of .196 and going nearly 140 mph. Mofo was Druhhhnk. Too bad. I always liked Jackass and his new show on g4 was fun, too. Be thankful no one else died, I guess. At the end of the day, death is death, regardless of who's considered at fault. *sigh*

A funeral is not just for the deceased, in fact it is largely for those who grieve his passing, and the WBC are essentially saying "#$!% You" to those people. I hope beyond hope that not one eye shall turn towards the WBC during their picket, that they shall be stricken from any level of attention. For it is written, "Don't Feed The Trolls."

If he was drunk, and the driver was drunk, I say picket away. Did you see the wreck? They were in the wrong one way or another. Either as speeding, or drunk driving.

I need to research this more perhaps. The I can say how much crap this jackass deserves. Did you see the pics he posted a few hours before the crash??

Otherwise, I say, good for you WBC. It's nice to see you giving shit to people who deserve it. But since they are already dead, is it good to remind the family members left that must pick up the pieces?

The drunks killed a third party, eh?

Don't quote me if I'm wrong on the details, I'll edit this soon.
Far from good for the WBC.

To start, picketing a funeral, even if it were someone who "deserved it" (In my opinion Dunn comes no where close to that) is never a good thing. The person is already dead, all that is doing is hurting loved ones who are already mourning even more. It's just a terrible thing to do period, as all it does is cause pain to people who already just lost a brother/friend/son/etc.

No one here knew Ryan Dunn, and because of that there is a frighteningly large amount of people on here who say the equivalent of "He got what he asked for" or "Who cares, he never contributed anything, he was a jackass." He was also a human being, and from what people who actually knew him have said, he sounds like damn good one. Much better than anyone on this site who says disrespectful and inhumane things about his life and death.

I'm not meaning to single you out, and I know you said don't quote you, but a large part of this community has been disgustingly disrespectful about this whole thing.
It's good to see someone bringing attention to drunk driving being horrible.

I say : Keep it up, even tho it's at the expense of innocent family members. That's the price of making money off of popularity.

Yeah, I have a dark mind set on this.
What?
They AREN'T bringing attention to drunk driving be horrible! They're being bigoted hate-filled assholes. They hate Ryan Dunn because he was a "sinner" They list a skit where he put a toy car up his ass as one of the reasons for picketing the funeral.

There are many real organizations that actually have the intentions of stopping people from driving drunk and do many things to inform people about the effects it has.

The WBC's intentions is too make money and hurt people.

Saying "It's good to see someone bringing attention to drunk driving being horrible." is not only completely undermining real organizations that do this, but it is also not the Wesboro Baptist Church's intentions.
Even bigoted hate-filled assholes can be right about something at least once.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

I agree that the WBC is shit. I don't like them at all. I guess I'm just looking for a silver lining. I look at this as an opportunity to call 'bullshit' on people feeling 'sad' that a (possibly drunk murderer) celebrity died.

That being said...

I feel sad that families have to deal with the press concerning a family members death, and that they are getting the attention of a hate group. But I have to admit that I feel like any negative attention given to someone who (supposedly) drives drunk and kills people, is justified. Even if Osama or Hitler or Rush Limbaugh is the one pointing a finger.

I can understand why people would wish to call me out because of this. I hope I explained my stance better.
Fair enough. I disagree with you still, and believe your focusing too much on him being a celebrity rather than a person, while his passenger wasn't famous, so people view him as a real person.
Also calling him a murderer is completely unwarranted.

Ryan Dunn and his passenger died. It can be assumed that Ryan was the one driving because he was the "least" drunk. His friend made the choice to get into a car with someone who was intoxicated. Ryan Dunn murdered no one. He made a damn stupid choice when he got behind the wheel of that car, but he's no murderer.

If people have no sympathy for someone who drove drunk, why do they have sympathy for someone who got into a car with a drunk driver? (While probably being in less control of themselves than Dunn)

Either be sympathetic to both their deaths, or neither of them. I recommend the first.

Pretty sure he doesn't considering that wasn't confirmed, last time I checked. I know he posted pictures I don't think its known how much was drunk, and the police didn't specify anything about that.

OT: Can't imagine the Jackass lot taking too kindly to that.
If he was sober and it was a blowout, or something like that. Hell, even if he was just tired, then I will feel REALLY guilty about what I said. I don't want to see anyone hurt. I wish it didn't happen.

If he was drunk I will stick by my comment about not feeling sorry for someone who murdered his friend because he did not have the balls to call a cab.
If he was pissed, his friend would have been too. If his friend had been sober, he wouldn't have gotten in the car or he would have driven. Chances are that if they were pissed, Dunn drove because they decided he was the least pissed. He did not murder his friend, they both made a mistake, just so happens he was the one driving.

And no, being stupid does not mean you deserve to die.
Which would only make sense if the SPEED WAS NOT 110 MPH! *rolls eyes*

Good riddance to Dunn.

Seriously, I want this filmed. There's no way that crew are going to let this happen, and nobody's going to hold whatever they do against them.

I hope it involves thermite.

Then again, I've been wrong before.

EDIT: Because apparently I can't spell.
I think there legitimately is a good deal of people who are just in it for the lawsuit money, but there are some really stupid people out there.

Plus, being brainwashed with that bullshit for as long as you could speak, I think that there has to be a few backwards people in there.

OT: Hah, I'm sure they'll find some way to counter protest the people. It's the Jackass members, they'll probably do something insane.

I'd be surprised if they WEREN'T picketing his funeral. Seriously, it's the WBC. Birds fly, fish swim, the WBC...douches. Yes, you can now use the word "douches" as a verb. This the WBC's greatest and only effect on the rest of the world.

Hey, he was a good dude and certainly his friends and family deserve the sympathy. Besides, it wasn't ever confirmed he was drunk. Only thing investigators confirmed was that he was speeding near 120-130mph, but toxicology hasn't confirmed he was drunk. Before passing harsh judgement, please fact check. Anyone who dies young and in a horrible fiery crash gets my sympathies.

OT: what on earth did Dunn do to piss of the WBBC? I really hope they get kicked out or arrested this time. In general, those loons are horribly disrespectful, especially to soldiers, and this time is especially crazy because... well, its Ryan Dunn? Guy wasn't exactly a satanist.

Ryan Dunn wasn't very smart (given he was in a car with a friend drunk driving), but still, why should the WBC bother? Why should the WBC picket Ryan Dunn's funeral?

Better question: Why should the WBC picket any funeral?

Even better question: Why does the WBC even exist?

seriously? ryan dunn?...........why?............because he was known?

also, its possible the jackass crew could be doing donuts with snakes and fireworks in the car and it could run into them and no one could have been looking in that one direction at the time....i'm just saying accidents could happen.
