I've been listening to "Deconstruction" by The Devin Townsend Project nonstop since it leaked back at the beginning of May. So many good songs that really transcend everything that man has done before.

Besides metal though, I've been listening to "Welcome to My DNA" by Blackfield, which is really starting to become my favorite album by them. There's just something incredibly uplifting about that album, especially the song "Go To Hell".

I'm really digging Build A Rocket Boys! by Elbow at the moment.

Specifically the opening track 'The Birds'. Can't get enough of it.

First off Kid A, which to be honest is less right now and more always. Cannae beat some idioteque.
The Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit, which is a really `powerful breakup album with a lot of range, hard to soft.

And the Vertigo of Bliss from Biffy Clyro, which I've just fallen for, hard, again:

Also, having read through this thread, I've decided I might actually like metal. Hmm.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. I just picked it up today (after having heard of it as one of the `best albums that no-one's ever heard of' for quite a while now), and it is awesome. Depressing as hell though.

Still Getting It by Foreign Beggars.

Easy to get into, but still dirty enough for it to be respectable.

It Sounds Like by deadmau5, got some songs that are undiscovered gems.

and Netsky by Netsky, because he's ace :D

I was into tera melos for a while myself. I hear their original drummer has been working with marnie stern, and i know their guitarist did some stuff on zach hill's last album.
Yeah, a lot of those people tend to collaborate often, and many of them are on the same record label (Sargent House). I like it when that happens with a label, it sort of becomes a community of artists that do tons of stuff together, and they all sort of have a unique, unifying sound. A lot of the music on there tends to be really energetic, strange, experimental, colorful rock.

One of favorites off of that whole community is a collaboration with Zach Hill and Nick Reinhart:

Bon Iver's brand new self-titled album. If you're travelling or just chilling alone in the dark, it's absolutely incredible. As well as that, I'm having another metal phase, listening to Deliver Us by Darkest Hour and Of Malice and the Magnum Heart by Misery Signals. Oh, and Until We Felt Red by Kaki King. That woman is incredible.

Four albums are competing to be my favorite, and all are from Pink Floyd: "Dark Side of The Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "Animals", and "The Wall".

And by the way, my avatar picture is the cover to "Wish You Were Here".

yeah, I remember seeing some of their stuff floating around when it first came out. Ever heard orthrelm?

I'm pretty sure their guitarist (Mick Barr) has worked with Zach hill.

yeah, the good thing about small labels is that they're often supporting one another, both creatively or otherwise.

you should check out melt-banana if you haven't already.

I like them, reminds me of Behold... The Arctopus. Apparently the two bands even did a split together too.

And I love Melt Banana, I saw them live a few years ago. It was a crazy show.

Due to the nature of digital music distribution, it's been a long time since I actually bought an entire album. My current two favorites for the moment, though, are Flogging Molly's Swagger and Korpiklaani's Korven Kuningas.
I'd also just heard Muse for the first time, specifically Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia. I loved them both, and this led to the assumption that the rest of Black Holes and Revelations was good. Sadly, it was a bunch of slow, melancholy nonsense, and not the guitar-heavy, energetic awesomeness of those two songs. I was disappointed.

Fleet Foxes debut album because I saw them live the other day

In terms of my favorite ever, its Funeral by Arcade Fire or Murmur by REM, but they're there as a result of the sustained love of many years.

Either Foo Fighter's newest, Wasting Light, or Champ by Tokyo Police Club. Although I have been listening to Filter's Short Bus album quite a lot recently.
