I dont mind people, just the kids who sit there making gun sounds and shit (thats my job).
I do enjoy people when they have a laugh about the game, talk about he game (tactics) and are just general a good chat with jokes and stories.

Pricks are pricks regardless of age. I'm seventeen. I've been playing Call of Duty since it came out on the PC. I would like it if you didn't lump me in with the rest of them. If you don't want to listen to pricks, put it on mute.

Back to the topic at hand. I hate it when someone complains when I use certain weapons, like shotguns, sniper rifles, throwing a grenade around a corner (only once I might add), etc...

Also, camping is more detrimental to the camper in well designed maps like in MW2, so you would have to keep moving otherwise you would get a knife in the back quite often. So this is more a problem with the map designs.

Playing online in general. I'm just not a people person. Even when I'm playing Left 4 Dead I don't play online.

Griefers, people with mics, try-hard elitists, and people who knows every knook and cranny of the game that they can chuck a 'nade in your spawn before you can say "Let's do this, Marines."

This is why I rarely play online multiplayer games.

Everyone else that's playing besides me. I know there wouldn't be any online without them but they're still amazingly annoying!

Lag annoys me aswell but thankfully I don't get too much of it.

Glitchers.

Take MW2. I have a Strict NAT, despite portforwarding and spending a whole weekend trying to fix it. On the off-chance that I actually find 1/50 games, and am then able to connect to it, I do NOT want to be glitched into a private Hardcore FFA on Rust.

I think that's been fixed now, but it was just an example.

For me, it's young children. You find them in CS:S, you find them in Halo 3, but I don't play those, so I mostly find them in TF2. But what really ticks me off is that I find children in Modern Warfare 2 of all games, and to find kids who from the sounds of their voices can only be about 12 years old in a game that in the UK has an 18 Certificate on it is simply not right.

And why do these children annoy me? Well, they have no idea of the appropriate volume to speak at, they try and order you around, they call everyone else n00bs and hackers, they tend to resort to using swear words and racial slurs at a speed faster than that at which Yahtzee speaks, and whenever they're doing badly, they try and blame every single person but themselves, often calling people on the other team Hackers when all they did was headshot them. It's really annoying.

If you're lucky enough to get British kids in your party, it's awesome. They are usually well-behaved and what little trash-talk they DO engage in sounds awesome. Of course, they CAN be provoked into standard tinykid behavior under certain circumstances. For instance, I was playing Saints Row 2 in an online deathmatch, and as I am wont to do, I decided to exclusively use the bat. This of course often is a detriment to my kill count and survival rating, but then nothing quite matches the fun of batting someone in the back of the neck and knocking them into traffic, or simply beating them to death as they law there helpless. The two British boys in the match had never used a bat and were unaware of its punishing nature. As such they screamed all sorts of nifty curses and epithets. Upon explaining to them the mighty power of the bat and adding them to my friends roster, we became an effective, happy party beating the crap out of everyone else. With bats. And rocket launchers! :)

at any rate, te worst thin about online gameplay is the people you play with.

This is what made me quit playing Counter-Strike years ago. First it was the AWP, then the P90, then it was 5.1 sound and I finally gave up when people started bitching about the mp5. The fucking mp5! The most basic gun in the game is a "n00b-weapon"!? When the hell did that happen!

Got it in one. You, sir, have just won.
I AGREE!

When people come in and decide they're gonna F*CK IT UP for you! ie. Left 4 Dead... I happily sign in to live, start a game from lobby, then 10 minutes later some dick shows up and thinks it's funny to repeatedly kill me in the saferoom. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS? I seriously do not understand these people!

Other than that, its the "retrying connection to server" message. You can be on like the final chapter or whatever, and you're like "NOOOOOOOOO!!! All thats time wasted and for whaaat?!?!" *deliriously cries into friends shoulder*

I hate the people who rage-quit when they're about to lose to avoid getting a loss on their record. Annoys the hell out of me, and it's a major reason I don't play online with people who aren't on my friends list.

Other than that, I find the people who rage into their mics to be hilarious, and it's even funnier when they send messages after a game calling you everything under the sun. I find humour in that.

People who complain about all the kids online. Wow, children utilizing an entertainment medium aimed primarily at children. No shit, sherlock. I'm not saying the kids themselves aren't annoying, but what the hell were you expecting?

12 year olds who call me a noob, even though I have 2x the kills they do.

When someone (usually the 12 year old ) says "Watch this" or something like it. OK, we are playing L4D, and we come across a witch. WE KNOW ABOUT THE INSTANT WITCH KILL!!! We all have less than 30% health and almost no ammo. The safe house is right there. We are in no condition for a fight, just run. But, no, this loser feels it is imperative to demonstrate his abilities. He screws up of course, so we leave him to be mauled. He screams and calls us all noobs and leaves the game crying. I hate people like that.
