The most unappreciated StarFox game of all time. And one of the most hated for some reason. Review were not kind to this game. Or accurate now that I look back. They called it bland, which was weird considering the Star Fox series was never known for its complexity.
OP: I'll try and recommend some PC games since people seem to be ignoring that part that you typed up:
Two words. Indigo. Fucking. Prophecy. (Also known as Fahrenheit).
Three more words. Fuck. Heavy. Rain.
Indigo Prophecy was made by the same developers and had about 10 times more badass blended together with a creative creative story that can't be predicted on your first run through. Heavy Rain on the other hand was predictable if you've seen a thriller in the past 15 years. With kind of a lame catalyst to the story. (The DLC story was better.)
Seriously though, DAT GAME.
Word to the wise, GET A CONTROLLER FOR THAT GAME. You'll wanna hurt someone if you don't.
Another one. Alone in the Dark (2008) Fantastic Lovecraftian horror game with a uniquely awesome control scheme. The amount of environment interface is supreme. Name me 5 other games where you can kill possessed madmen with an aerosol can and a lighter, which then if you're a smart bastard, wrap double sided tape around that same aerosol can creating a makeshift sticky bomb, throw it at any enemy and shoot him and 6 other in a fiery blaze of glory.
All while recovering slowly from amnesia as the city of New York crumbles to what can only be described as the maws of hell taking it in.
Love that game. Works better with a controller, but mouse and keyboard work well enough.
Thirdly, Anachronox. Imagine Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly. Now imagine him with a beergut and ever more curmudgeonly. On one of the most unique sci-fi planets ever fathomed. End in a cliffhanger due to the developer planning on a sequel as this game didn't sell, but worth the playthrough nonetheless.
