Vaan from Final Fantasy
I know he's completely covered from the waist down but looking at that feels like I'm looking at child porn or something. It's just unsettling and kind of creepy.
That's because he's 16 (ish).

I'm not female myself, but I most certainly am not %100 hetro, so I think I can give a few cents in from my own unique perspective.
When it comes to muscles, and abs, less is more. Go for that defined, athletic look, without making them look bulging.
Also, hair. The kind of hair you can picture yourself running your fingers through, and blowing in the wind. I would actually say that guys hair = girls boobs. Cause the hair can be gravity defying, can come in all shapes in sizes, and of course, can have its own bounce physics, and is also something you can enjoy groping, and playing with.

Might I suggest almost the entire cast of Sengoku Basara? Director interviews have confirmed that it was designed to appeal to the significant audience of women who thought Dante was hot (so add him to the list, I guess), but didn't want to play Devil May Cry. The nature of its success in its native Japan would appear to suggest that they succeeded in appealing to a female audience on the basis of sex appeal.

Also, you can by otome games in English now. Check out that thing about the Shinsengumi or something.

The new Dante is pretty sexualized. He's the only person that gets naked in the game. The old Dante was pretty sexualized too. He kept getting... impaled.

Whether you like new Dante or not, there's no denying that.

Dante is definitely one of the more sexualized male characters in video games. And an example of a male power fantasy character that is also legitimately sexualized.

I apologize Jeffers, I just couldn't contain myself.. I'm sorry man, I didn't mean ...

Yeah Dante is actually really attractive looking and his attitude is rather alluring. The Prince of Persia, Nathan Drake and Ryden are other characters I've sort of found myself gravitating towards for similar reasons.

For the slightly more grizzled approach Snake has always been a favorite. He's experienced in war and is actually very built without looking like an overcooked slab of meatloaf (Kratos). And he does wear a skin tight jumpsuit. I mean.. damn. Male Shepard's form is also very pleasing to the eyes as far as I'm concerned. It's kind of awkward when I remember I named my Shepard after myself and tried to make him resemble me as much as possible for immersion...

Edit: I also forgot to mention Ezio from Assassin's creed. Honestly due to some of the more sexual scenes in those games, especially brotherhood, I couldn't help but blush a little while playing. A good kind of blush. A manly blush of manliness.

Of course I'm a gay man so I don't know if I'm exactly representative of the female perspective you were looking for, butt fuck it.

First time poster, lurked for awhile, just got bored enough I guess.

Anyhoo. Considering that Shepard's face is based off of a professional model, I'd say that your point may not be entirely valid. Is he the prettiest man? By no means. But is he fugly? I'm a straight guy, so my own perception isn't the best, but I'd say that ugly isn't a word that'd describe John Shepard's face.

Also, I don't see how Adam Jensen was designed to be "douchey" he's essentially a traditional hardboiled noir detective with a modern makeover (Spiky hair, well groomed beard, sunglasses, and longcoat). And frankly, from my understanding all of those traits can be attractive to women. Fuck, I thought he was pretty damn cool looking.

Then again, it seems that lots of people (dudes) call guys "douchey looking" when they mean "he looks better than me and/or it's gay to be well dressed". Especially if a guy obviously puts time into his hair. I don't know why, but dudes with fancy-ish hair tend to be labeled douches on sight.

Anyhoo, this is a fun thread, please, continue. Also, would Nathan Drake count? I understand he's designed to be handsome, but is he sexy or sexualized? I've not really played Uncharted, so I wouldn't know, but he certainly looks like the white-bread "Captain America" type of guy.

EDIT: Looks like GeneralFungi sniped that last question, though if my other points are wrong, please, enlighten me.

As happy as I am to see someone reference Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, Nines really isn't all that sexualized...
He's sexy, sure! But not exactly sexualized.

As for sexualized male characters... Um...
You know, I have a hard time coming up with examples. Sure there are a lot of bishie guys, but none that I can think of get topless or anything like that.
Uhm... Liquid Snake? Always shirtless.
Illidan from Warcraft? He never wears a shirt either...
I really can't think of many. Huh.

I like John Shepard from Mass Effect too. He has a cute face.
I tried to get my sister into Mass Effect once. I asked if she wanted to make a new FemShep, but she said she preferred to see default ManShep..

Thinking of my sisters, one of them became a fellow fan of Dreamfall. There was some admiration for Mr. Alvane.

I could make cracks about his sunglasses being surgically implanted, and his Christian Bale-esque Batman voice,

but appearance-wise, he could be worse off.

Whats the name of that Nosfuratu hacker guy you can do quests for? Mishnik? He's pretty good looking for a Nosfuratu.
I would say LaCroix is pretty good looking too, but his douchey personality cancels that out.

I can't believe no one's suggested this yet:

I can't remember anything about his character other than Kasumi thinking he's hot, which is literally all there is to the character. Well, that and the ridiculous Lord of the Flies in space with old people side quest, and maybe that he dumps you if you pursued the romance in ME2 regardless of your choices. And that might actually be all there is to the character.

Father Time said:
Kratos is shirt-less more often than Jacob from Twilight. And in previews for God of War 3 they said they worked on making his muscles ripple realistically.
Yeah I don't think Kratos being shirtless is enough for him to qualify as being sexualized.

And I was going to say that being a rage and vengeance personified is just so appealing to the opposite sex, I guess he actually is kind of a (or at least was a) family man, which is supposed to be a desirable quality to look for in a mate.

And completely off topic but anyone else think the guy in the Dust 514 ad looks like he has an Alienware case for a head?

See, with Adam Jensen they cut off the arms and legs, but they couldn't touch that natural ab area because the fangirls would rebel XD

The following list are the characters that seemed to resonate and I already know about:
Link
Dante
Nathan Drake
all FF chars
Adam Jensen
Leon (RE4)
Ezio
Prince of Persia
Gambit
Garrus
Snake/Raiden

Which actually lines up with my personal taste quite a bit - these are some of the best male characters in gaming in my opinion. I guess people like a wisecracking but honorable badass of lean build and strong style.

It's been a long time since I've played it, so I'm not sure how sexual he really was, but Isaac in Castlevania made me all sorts of horny back in the day. Even now, just thinking about all dat shirtlessness, I can't help but blush xDD

EDIT: Btw, this needs to happen somewhere in a videogame: http://25.media.tumblr.com/500139b81e0a128a3d043d5b870a1434/tumblr_mmi0uhcmAS1rd4c0mo1_1280.jpg

Really, if there isn't a video game equivalent to Fathom somewhere in the next year, I'ma be disappointed.
