I've been a PS3 Gamer his whole generation, so i do not know all of the 360 titles, though the ones i recognize are here because of their impact on gaming.

GTA IV
Skyrim/Oblivion
Fallout 3
GoW
Halo 3
Batman Arkham Asylum
Mass Effect series
Uncharted
Bioshock
Saints Row 2
CoD 4
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Assassin's Creed
Journey
Limbo
Red Dead Redemption
Battlefield 3
The Last of Us (Premature, but still looks like it's going to be an instant classic)
GTA V (again, not out, but GTA is always a classic)
L.A. Noire
Flower
Portal
TF2
Infamous
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Wii Fit
Bastion

I tried to get in a good mix of cross platform games as well as exclusives from both consoles and indie games that have been much lauded and loved, this generation has seen much improvement in gaming quality (Despite what it looks like) and indie games have benefited much from PSN, Steam and the XBLA, introducing millions to some truly great titles.

there are probably more games out there that my list misses, but otheres have what i don't

The Batman Arkham games will definitely be remembered as classics. Can't think of anything else though.
Fucking ninjas.

But yeah, they're pretty much the go to games now for Stealth/Action fusion.

And Batman games.

Oh and CoD 4, that game is still better than the majority of the newer Call of Duty's.

Um... of course JRPG or Japanese Role Playing Game, means exactly that - RPG made in Japan.
Thionking otherwise would be both silly and incomprehensible...
Going to have to vote 'nay' on this. When someone says a game is a JRPG they are referning to a style of game, not strictly that it is made in Japan.

Final Fantasy: JRPG
Dragons Dogma: WRPG - It might have Jap developers, but it is emulating the western style.

I guess for the Wii it's Xenoblade Chroncile, No More Heroes, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy and a few more.

There was an Extra Credits series a while back that defined WRPG and JRPG differently (iirc they used Dark Souls as an example of a WRPG made in Japan). Doesn't matter if you agree with it or not, it's a legitimate viewpoint.

Is this a touchy subject with you or something?

Maybe it's a matter of dialect, but over here in my world if someone says to me that a game is a JRPG i'm going to assume that it has a teenage lead with silly hair and is probably turn based, but not always. Why is that? Because that is the STYLE which is attributed to the genere and is a way for people to easily identify the game. I feel like this is going to go down the "what is anime" route (and I don't want to go there) so suffice it to say that words and terms have certain associations with them. If your argument was true than we should all be calling Mario a J-platformer.

-The Souls series
-Uncharted
-Oblivion
-Skyrim
-Fallout 3
-Mario Galaxy
-Limbo
-Walking Dead
-Team Fortress 2
-Portal
-Batman Arkham
-Mass Effect
-Read Dead Redemption
-GTA 4
-Assassin's Creed
-No More Heroes
-Zelda: Twilight Princess

That's the ones that i can think of. I did not include any COD or Gears of War because

COD: I think with it's extremely short campaign and very strong emnphasis on multiplayer, people will lose interest in those games right when the servers will shut down. They will become like sports games. They won't have any values and if you go pawn them they will say: "No, i don't take this game anymore, i have like 10 copies".

Gears Of War: Maybe they will be considered classics for a short period of time but i don't think they will stand the test of time. I think the Cover-Based-Shooter genre won't age well due to their limited and redundant nature and the more time passes the less people will be interested in those games.

No. Mario is a platformer.

My argument is that the J should be dropped entirely and we should rely only on the ACTUAL sub-genre definitions as described in my previous post.

When I hear JRPG I hear RPG made in Japan.

What you describe is a fallacious and narrow view of what RPGs in Japan are.

Your "but not always" is also not well-defined enough to have meaning. What do you mean by this. That KH is a JRPG but not Dragon's Dogma because of some arbitrary quality that you've determined. Sorry kid, it doesn't work that way.

Again, the true sub-genres are limited to:
- Classic RPG (CRPG)
- Strategy RPG (SRPG) note: Tactical RPG accepted as well but means the same
- Action RPG (ARPG)
- Dungeon Crawler
- Roguelike

All of these have very defined parameters. JRPG and WRPG do not (in your view) other than geographical location. Thus all that can be ascribed to them is gepgraphy. Thus they are silly and useless titles given only to debase/discredit games from a certain country in this particular gen. I think I know who started it and why, but since I have no proof, I will keep it to myself.

Now unless you can define: "but not always" - do not bother responding since your argument is flawed beyond belief.
People aren't machines. We don't access our database and pull out information via XML tags. Language is a collaborative effort and it doesn't always make logical sense. What you are saying is true, and in a world where logic reigns supreme everyone would follow this line of thought when discussing the term. But we don't live in that world. People will ascribe meanings and lables in all sorts of manners and this is one such case. I know you feel like you have a point, but you're fooling yourself if you think that logic carries itself into the way people really talk. The term JRPG is something that goes way back and it has always been used as a term to distinguish the popular turn-based, anime styled games of japan from the CRPGs based on western tabletop games. Games have changed, interbred and become mongrelised, but those terms have carried over along with the core principles of what first defined them. It's not about geographical location, it's about heritage.

Nationality often refers to style as well as geography in arts. For instance in music, Edward Elgar was English but his style is more appropriately described as German, while Gerald Finzi is very distinctively English in style despite having Italian and German parents. It's not a big deal so long as you define what you mean when you use terms like that. Meh, I see this is just opening wounds of a past war I have no interest in.

I old you not to respond unless you had an answer to my question - you did not.

JRPG is not an old term. It is a new term - from this gen or the end of the last gen.

Sorry to burst your bubble.
Yes I did, you simply chose to ignore it and JRPG does go back further than the last generation of consoles. I believe it started with this game.

Also, stop acting like an arsehole and talk to people with some respect.

I shall state now that the majority of my gaming has been on the Xbox 360. I may or may not give reasons depending on how many I list. And I am trying to avoid just picking personal favourites

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Minecraft
Mass Effect trilogy (hell the ending may still be talked about for years)
Batman: Arkham series
Portal series
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Assassin's Creed series
Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas/All of the 'above'/Pick and choose
Bioshock
Saints Row 2
Condemned (probably more of a cult classic(CC))
Mirror's Edge (CC)
Deadly Premonition (definitely CC)
Alpha Protocol (CC)
Rock Band (starting the band in the rhythm genre)
Borderlands
Lost Odyssey (best JRPG)
FIFA 10 - the game that brought FIFA up to and ahead of Pro Evo
Limbo
Braid
The Darkness
Spec Ops: The Line (I hope, but again this may be CC)
Super Mario Galaxy

There will be plenty more however that people will add
Pretty much everything this guy said. And if anyone argues against CoD4 then I will go into a lengthy argument to support it's inclusion.
also agree, except replace COD with HL series. if you ask me, fu*k call of duty, its a tragedy that such a shit franchise exists. i see no reason to add games about shooting people in shit maps and teabagging them while talking shit about the victims mom. story sucked too, and... well... i dont see a reason to add it to the list. it just sucks in my opinion.
