1. This is fact. A PC is capable of having significantly higher graphical power than consoles. This isn't "personal preference," but indisputable fact that PCs have much more graphical power than a console.
2. This is fact. A PC is capable of playing not only all the older, previous PC games, but as well as many other games from older consoles.
3. This is personal preference. Grats... you are right about 1 or 3 so far.
4. I dismissed this as silly and a non-point.
5. You said that this is a "belief"
6. This is the same vain as 5.
7. This is a silly non-point, as others have pointed out
8. This is in the same vain as 5.
9. This is a personal preference. Congrats on being right about 2/9 so far.
10. I said this was a silly non-point.

So, that makes a grand total of TWO of these statements being personal preference? Everything else is either hard fact or worded in such a way it is CLEARLY a personal preference.

So, care to say anything else?
1. Not everyone cares equally about graphics. Some people just wan't a game with fun gameplay.
2. And for some people it is a lifestyle to "hunt down" old consoles and old games in order to enjoy them in their original form on their original platform.
3. Why thank you!
4. Yes it is, but how does this prove PC's as superior?
5. I agree, that was a mistake on my part and I apologize.
6. DLC should not necessarily be free. People put a lot of time, effort and resources into it, so why shouldn't they get paid for it. And no its not necessarily a belief.
7. No it isn't. I have spent a lot of time on Xbox LIVE and I have never encountered any "racist twelve year olds".
8. Yep, another mistake on my part.
9. Thanks again.
10. How?

So yeah, I'll admit I didn't think this all the way through when I first wrote it. However as you can see, this list has a lot more to do with "personal preference" than you think.

Its not that I hate PC's or people who play PC's. I hate console fanboys just as much. But the prevailing image for a lot of PC fanboys seems to be that they are gods gift to gaming and that anyone who dares to play on consoles are just dirty peasants and swearing twelve year olds. In other words, many PC fanboys/elitists view themselves as some sort of "alpha geek" if you like. And that, my friend, is why I dislike the whole "we are righht" sentiment.

Because it has nothing to do with managing digital rights to copyrighted material? It's a system in place TO PREVENT THE THEFT OF STEAM ACCOUNTS, SINCE THEIR VALUE CAN REACH IN THE THOUSANDS. IT ISN'T TRYING TO KEEP YOU FROM ACCESSING SOFTWARE IN AN ILLICIT WAY, BUT TO PREVENT INDIVIDUALS FROM HACKING AND STEALING ACCOUNTS. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DRM. NOTHING AT ALL. IT IS AN ANTI-THEFT MEASURE FOR WHOLE ACCOUNTS... NOT YOUR SOFTWARE. You just happened to suffer an unfortunate drawback of the system THAT COULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN FIXED BY CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Like I said, anti-fans are just as bad as fans I suppose.

I despise anime fans. I don't mind people who like or draw anime. I'm talking about the fangirls (and boys) who learn a few anime-esque phrases in Japanese and exclaim "Super Kawaiiiii!" and wave their arms about at any given moment.
I used to just dislike them until one (a girl with a unibrow, I might add) accosted me in an art store, cornering me and telling me D&D sucked (after I mentioned I played it) then shouted at me in Japanese, which I can only assume was from an anime. And all the while, this terrible person thought I was going along with it, because I have the tact to avoid telling her how much I hate the show she's surely quoting.

All fans of everything everywhere ever.
I agree,an average fanboy (or girl) can be explained with this picture

Or just by saying that fans are stupidly clingy onto the said thing they like, stupidly blinded by just about anything wrong with it and will defend it to the death if you do so much as call it mediocre.
Not to mention either acting like it's the end of the fucking world or going into motherfucking denial whenever something like the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are made.

1. This has nothing to do with caring about graphics. The statement I made was regarding the graphical processing power of PCs, which is objectively more powerful than consoles. You used a strawman here.
2. This has nothing to do with wanting to hunt down retro games. It was a statement regarding the superiority of PCs because of their vastly superior backwards compatibility, which PCs have an objectively superior backwards compatibility of consoles. Your statement has nothing to do with disputing this claim. Yet again, a straw man.

Everything else was debating with me about points I said were stupid. Why would you debate points I dismissed as stupid non-points? That, or you argued about statements that are clearly beliefs, yet you are trying to "put words into my mouth" and make it like I was stating them as fact. For someone who said that they didn't think their first post through, you sure didn't think the second one through either.

I suppose there is some statement to be made about fans somewhere at the end of this post, but I just can't think of it.

PC elietists that immediatly believe they are better than everyone just because they play on something that gives them slightly better graphics
On my personal list of why I prefer a PC, graphical superiority is pretty low on my list, though it is on there. If you care to look at the rest of this thread, many of the reasons why PC gaming is considered superior (better controls, user-created content, and so on) have already been covered by myself and others. My computer could run Crysis on very high settings with no lag, but I could care less about that. I get it for all of the features it offers me because games designed with a "PC first" mentality tend to be better overall, even when ported to consoles. The same isn't true of console to PC ports.

Absolutist PC gaming fans who just can't shut their f***ing trap when it comes to proclaiming they are the master race of gaming and consoles are kiddy toys. It's fine that you like PCs, just leave us alone!

Fallout fans... oh boy. After whining after Bethesda made the incredible Fallout 3, which supposedly wasn't "humorous enough" and completely screwed up the super-mutants, they got Fallout: New Vegas, made by some of the original Fallout devs. And they still whined.

Zelda fans, as explained by Jimquisition... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMcYLw6jSa4

Resident Evil fans are ok, but they really creep me out sometimes.

Twilight fans, no reason needed.

I'm ashamed to call myself a Prince of Persia fan after reading some of the sewer-tripe that's come of some of their mouths. Also, I like to consider myself a Burnout fan, but I like Burnout: Revenge, which is apparently Satan's son.

Castlevania fans are cool though, as are Battlefield fans and most Sonic fans. Unreal fans are great too except when they whine about UT3.

PCgaming fans. The only one I know personally is an elitist ****, and on the internet they basically share his exact opinions and quote zero punctuation nonstop.

Most Radiohead fans because they are really pretentious and dismiss most other music when compared to Radiohead. which is ironic since they are also my favourite band

Bioware fans, and that's really saying something since I'm one of them!

"Talimancers" are the worst. DO NOT visit any of the Tali appreciation threads on BSN if you like being able to sleep.

Fanboys and fangirls. I think the worst of the sort are the fanboys of consoles, because they argue over trival things. I saved a quote from a Youtube director who owns PS3, Xbox and PC:
"I think people who argue over one platform versus the other so violently or so vehemently... just need to reassess the situation. We're all gamers, I think that we all share a common interest, and the platform we choose to play on... yes the experience can be different from one to the other, but really it's not relevant and not everyone can afford to drop a couple thousand bucks on an excellent gaming rig. I think that the console makes gaming more accessible, and to somebody starting out, like myself gaming in my thrities, it was a little more approachable."

Then there's fangirls. caaaant ssspeeeeeeeelllllllll aaaaaaaaaaaaanddd aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddd eeeeeeexxxxxxxxtttrraaaaaaaa lleeeeeetttttteeeeerrrrssss tttttttttttoooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeveryyyyyyyyyyyy tttttttttthhhhaaaaannnggg.

It doesn't really prevent theft since they would need access to either my PC or my online account.
On the other hand it does make it harder to install my games on a friend PC and let him keep it in offline mode to play. So there it's DRM. Now stop being a fanboy.

Pretty much any fans of anything who aren't smart or neutral about it I despise. But if you want me to mention a specific group, I'll say Sonic fanboys/girls, they hate on any of the games sonic team try to push out to fit their stupid demands, they're never happy. They're also keeping Sonic around when he should just be put to rest, the poor guy's gone through enough shit, let him rest in peace.

Allow me to show you what Sega did at E3.
It's safe to say that Jim Sterling has an iron will to be there for the whole thing,it's hilariously bad.
(then again I managed to watch the whole video so I guess I'm a madman)
