In case you haven't heard, Valve has said they are going to make three big announcements over the next twelve months. Here are my guesses as to what they are.

1. Half Life 2 episode 3, duh.
2. Left 4 dead 3: left 4 deader
3. Half Life movie to be produced by Valve (have said that's the plan if movie was to be made)

what are your guesses?

It isn't going to Be half life 2: Episode 3 or Half life 3. Valve are going to make us wait just a little bit longer...

Defense Of The Ancients - They bought the name, that's it.

New Left 4 Dead - With the speed of 2's release after 1 I wouldn't be surprised if we get a 3rd installment or something of some value.

TF2 Xbox Updates - Hear me out, this has been a major complaint from XBox Orange Box users like myself, it's a possibility, and any DLC would score them brownie points as well as extra cash.

Probably two completely unexpected and unexciting announcements, most likely premium Steam accounts that you have to pay a subscription for or something. That and a fairy RPG.

Number 1 was probably the (already out) Mann-conomy update for TF2.

I'm going to guess that number 2 is that DotA game and number 3 will probably be Half Life 3 of some description.

Yeah, the Mann-conomy was one big surprise. DotA might be big, but not that much of a surprise anymore.

The problem isn't Valve, but Microsoft.

1: A new engine
2: Episode 3
3: Both the engine and Episode 3 have been delayed until at least 2014.

OT: Team Fortress 3? That'd be good.

My bets?

I'll lay lowest odds that they'll say SOMETHING about HL2 Ep3. I'm not holding my breath because they're thin odds, but they're odds I'd play low in a poker game.

Slightly higher in terms of likelihood is, in my opinion, a Steam client for one or more flavors of Linux. Red Hat, Debian or Ubuntu, most likely Ubuntu first (since it tries the hardest to emulate Windows).

Finally, I'm guessing either an sequel to L5D or some sort of HUGE update to ALL the Source games (id est, the Source engine). These two, taken separately are pretty even odds. Chances that both show up are high enough to kick HL2 Ep3/HL3 back a slot to "not happening." I only mentioned it since I think an announcement of a Source Engine update and L5D sequel might well count as one announcement (they'd likely be using L6D to show off the new features).

Their Pixy RPG project. What? It IS a surprise when you see it. But not a pleasant one.

If they make some RTS-styled online game (DotA, Last Stand, TD) that would be:
a bust/FRIGGIN' ORGASMIC AWESOMESAUCE!
