I'm crossing my finger for better AI, stories, physics, lightning techniques and better facial animation. I also want games with more artistic value and not all games to be on the action B-movie level.

Better navigational designs. The Xbox 360's interface is horrific. Especially searching through the market-place.

Better downloadable prices. They charge £50 to download Skyrim. I can buy it in a shop, a nice real copy including a map for £20. It's a joke.

I want the next Xbox 360 to automatically reconnect to the internet when possible should it ever have to disconnect. It's idiotic that it doesn't, even my bloody phone does.

The only thing I'm hoping to get out of the next generation is... well... to get out of it. Seriously. Its all sounding like fucking bullshit to me. I dont care about motion controls, or tablet gaming, or constantly online DRM, or any of that other shit that reminds me even more that I'm just sitting in a room blasting pixels. I feel enough shame over the fact that I'm wasting time by killing non-existant entities with another non-existant entity that I (possibly) spent a great deal of time messing about with just to get the eyebrows right.

Not trying to generate any arguments here, and I most certainly am not trying to troll anyone, but I only jumped back into gaming this generation, and while I've had fun with it, I think this new generation of consoles is going to be an excellent opportunity for me to get back out of it. It does make me feel kind of sad about it, but the amount of hostility I feel towards this new generation far outweighs that.

Not a damn thing. I seriously cannot imagine where games can go from here. AAA games have already gotten too expansive to produce and still be any good when compared to previous generations (in everything, but graphics). Everything I ever needed out of games was there a generation ago and since then it's only gone downhill.

Uh. What we've been getting, but better? With less Wonderbook, and more Beyond? A shift in the color palette from brown and gray to blue and green? Another Fallout title, an HD Zelda, and a new Mother game?

Mind, I'm always hoping for that last one.

-Lower loading times

-A color other than grey, brown, grit, gunmetal, dirt or grime, seriously, I love the vibrancy of HD and devs are just not taking advantage of it.

-More creativity in games instead of the re-skins of previous games that developers seem so dead-set on releasing. You can add all the new weapons you want but if I feel like I haven't changed the disc in the console you have failed

-Less frequent, smaller patches

-Smaller teams, lower production budgets and longer development cycles on games. We really don't need a new Call of Duty game every single year.

-Stop putting retarded forms of DRM on the games, I don't care if you want to bind my CD key to an account, but making me maintain an internet connection is stupid, (Yeah I know this is a PC problem mostly but I'm tired of it and would like to see it disappear during the next-gen of gaming)

-Also miss games that genuinely required some skill not just an inordinate amount of time.

-Stop charging Retail prices on digital copies in the store

-And for the love of god can we go back to games where I could buy the game, unwrap it, put it in the console and be playing it within a minute. Tired of getting a new game only to have to download a day-one patch then accept a EULA, then have to accept something else

As long as the console isn't based off a gimmick I'll at least give it a look. Backwards compatibility is always nice too.

A new console generation would not necessarily mean higher development costs. In many ways it could actually lower costs.

I'm not sure how you figure that. It sure didn't with this last one, quite the contrary and quite to the detriment of the industry as a whole IMHO. ...well the AAA industry anyway.
