Pretty much every big Nintendo series. I'm pretty quick to criticize the Big N, but I still absolutely love Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Pokemon to bits.

Finally, the anime series Monster. I never hear anyone mention it, and yet it is one of the best shows I have encountered within the genre. It's heavy on exposition, to be sure, but the slow start only serves to strengthen a wonderfully realized cast of characters. In all honestly, it reminds me of a Dostoevsky novel: fascinating, consistent characters, a strong sense of place, and replete with moral ambiguity. That is hasn't been commercially viable (the second box set was never released; fortunately, Manga Entertainment has posted all of the episodes on Youtube) is a disappointing testament to the fact that people prefer schlock such as Elfen Lied (promising Schlock though it is) to well developed drama. It's a shame.
Thank. You. GOD.
I've finally met someone on this site who loves, nay, has even
seen Monster. I've been recommending it on this site every chance I get for a year now, but nobody ever pays attention.
Couldn't agree more with everything you just said.
