What are you doing to prepare for Skyrim?

I was introduced to The Elder Scrolls with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Despite how much the game irritates me (falling down stairs instead of WALKING DOWN THEM!!!, and the combat), it's still a great fantasy RPG, and it's mod support and community is ridiculously amazing...aside from the imbalance of porn-mods to improvement-mods.

Anywho, Skyrim. I'm interested in it, and definitely considering getting it. With Fallout 3 being an improvement to Oblivion, I'm looking forward to Skyrim being a similar improvement to Oblivion. It seems with each new game, Bethesda gets the formula just a bit better than the previous.

So right now, I'm playing Oblivion. Not really because I'm breathlessly dangling from my cage attempting to hold on until Skyrim comes running up to me with trampoline-net and joyful tidings, but rather because I'm in the mood for a good fantasy RPG with ridiculously amazing mod-support and an imbalance of porn mods to good mods. I'm confident Skyrim will replace my Oblivion install however. I just hope they release the modding tools within mere days of Skyrim's release. Not doing so would be a sin against the gaming gods that have, to this point, blessed Bethesda and its modding-oriented player base.

We wait.........
Awesome. Just awesome.

Ot: Eh, I'll probably play all the other great games coming out before it?

Oh, and all the good albums. Sweet jesus there's some good music coming out this year (which is sorely needed after the drought last year.)

I put in my pre-order, so now it's just time to enjoy the rest of what 2011 has to offer until Skyrim comes out.

Daggerfall and Arena are now freeware so that's something that might be of interest to ES enthusiasts.
Really? where can we get these? are they available for PC and will they run on Windows 7?

As for preparing for skyrim, I will be trying to finish the main quest on Oblivion and working on my Uni stuff.

This one will set up Dagger Fall for you.

Also: It's very hard and remember to change the attack button to Left mouse button.

I'm singing this song until the game is released...

Other crap fill the gap while I wait it to begin...
That actually looks better than the game most likely will be, going off what a mess Oblivion was.

Maybe find that European Oblivion mod that completely overhauls everything and makes an entirely new game.
It's called Nehrim if that helps. I haven't tried it yet since it copies a bunch of files from your Oblivion folder, and I don't want to mess with my modlist.

Writing down all the problems Oblivion had and seeing how many of them get fixed. Especially the really obvious ones like pyschic guards and the fact that shopkeepers are all blessed with the power to identify stolen pieces of cheese.

trying to work my way through the games on my Gamefly queue to keep myself distracted so time seems to pass faster as opposed to waiting

it'll take alot of time, considering Gamefly's crap service speed

I actually hung my Oblivion map on my wall the other day, and since I don't have Oblivion with me right now I have been GAAAPPPPING at the map for days, recalling my 400 hours of adventure over this beautiful game. I forgot how much I loved running through the marshes of blackwood and the mountains south west of chorrol. MAGNIFICENT!

Strengthening both arms in the hopes of dual-wielding shields and/or massive swords.

Strengthening the mind in the hopes that I can create a spell to mimic magical armageddon.

Strengthening the will to not completely piss myself as I see giant freaky spiders.

And finally, strengthening the vocal chords to shout with the power of Rob Halford.
