My current project:

I am building a lava castle on top of a mountain. I have already done the first 3 floors (Need to add windows to the 2nd and 3rd) I have a tower coming out of the side of the 3rd floor, and 2 lava flows from the castle.

EDIT Well! I'm fucked. I hit max altitude. Guess im stuck in 3 floors. I might make a basement though.

Finished building my huge sandstone castle, moving on to building a port town near it and a wall surrounding that. Also, a road to my friends buildings, which are damn far away -_-

I WAS building a giant underground complex but that went sideways when i realized i somehow managed to dig near an underground lake and accidentally flooded several rooms when i was adventuring (really weird how that worked) So i gave up

Then i started something similar to you, cept i wanted water cause im cool like that, sadly a brigade of creepers spawned in my basement and high tower because i forgot to put down torches resulting in my castle looking war torn

So now my project is taking my diamond sword and armor and killing as many creepers i can until notch adds some sort of corpse feature at which point ill build a monument out of their corpses.

...Yet i think they'll blow that up to, god damn creepers

I completely flattened a side of a mountain (some 50 blocks high), covered it entirely in that nice stone (not cobble), made a pool below with 2 ordinary waterfalls and a "lava-fall", in the middle of the pool built a portal to the Nether, wasted 250 torches lighting up around the place (it's really huge) and last set fire to all the trees near my base and man was it satisfying.

I JUST bought the full version of the beta and I swear Minecraft is absolutely evil. 30 minutes of real time in Minecraft ends up translating into 3 hours in the real world. I got on and wanted to kill two hours and figure out the basics of it, and before I knew it, I had been up for 12 hours and got a basic concept for my first build which is a gigantic castle carved out of a mountain face that I am clearing half the mountain as I go in brick by brick. No its nothing creative but it works to serve as a good first run.

Diginga giant hole to harvest creepers with. Its about 20-30 blocks deep but its not deep enough to kill them!!! So even deeper I must go.

I'm looking for a large underground cavern to build a house in. I found about 80 clay blocks right around where I spawned, so I decided to do Dwarf-mode. I harvested all the materials I could before the second nightfall and went underground, never to return to the surface. Didn't find a large enough cavern yet, though.

At the moment, I'm building up my infrastructure and mass producing charcoal and smoothstone. I intend to use it to create a lighthouse on a nearby island and a "temple of water" kind of massive thing in the really shallow bay nearby. Once I find a source of lava, I intend to put a portal to hell at the base of my current mine-shaft, which is underneath where the lighthouse will be.

Working on a 200 x 200 x 60 Red dragon made of Netherrack and Red wool, set on fire. Possibly breathing "fire" (lava in glass) Unfinished, so no pics. Spent most of my time so far building railway network and mining like a madman.
