Lol. I first picked it up during the whole swine flu epidemic (I had stopped reading it for a while. I just picked it up recently.). How's that for timing?asiepshtain said:I actually read that while I was sick. Give it a LOT more punch.Hannibal942 said:The Stand, by Stephen King. A jacked-up version of the flu destroys the world and they nickname it Captain Trips.....awesome.
No, I can't say I have read those. Thanks for pointing them out though, they'd defo go on my 'to read' list.Mornelithe said:The Hyperion novels are insane. I absolutely loved that series. I literally shed a tear when I realized I'd finished the 4 books in the series.DarkLordofDevon said:I finished Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion recently. Dan Simmons' work is very good.DrDeath3191 said:I just finishes reading Ilium by Dan Simmons, and I'm looking forward to reading its sequel Olympos. Right now though, I'm reading Outliers.
But atm, I'm reading Lord of the Rings. Tolkien ftw.
Ever read the Otherland series, by Tad Williams? Not really like the Hyperion novels, but definitely badass Sci-fi/Fantasy. Also, CS Friedman has a great book called 'This Alien Shore' (She also wrote the Coldfire Trilogy). Sci-fi too, but really good.
Yes, I saw the movie a while after I read the book. They're very different from each other but both enjoyable.Sinvel said:Hey that's great, did you watch the movie/anime of Howl's moving castle? I loved the movie but I'm still trying to get around to reading the book.spinachwrap said:I'm rereading Sunshine by Robin McKinley and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
Currently I'm reading Watership Down by Richard Adams -- those rabbits really kick ass...
